We’ve lived at Roman Court in Middlewich just over 2 years now and we’ve been very comfortable. I was particularly surprised at how soon and easily we settled as I was very uncertain about the move. T... See more

From start to finish Bobby held our hand. Every question we asked was answered clearly and he made sure we understood. Made himself available when ever we needed assistance. Really a pleasant chap and a great asset to McCarthy and Stone.
Mum moved into a lovely 1 bedroom flat near Huddersfield (Sykes Court, Lindley) 2 months ago and has settled in very quickly. This is mainly because the house manager, Audrey, is excellent. Audrey has gone above and beyond to make Mum feel at home and part of the community. Thankyou!

At Greenhaven we have a house manger called Gale :-
When i had to spend some time in Hospital , Gale went over and above anything that is expected from a house Manager.
She took my wife to hospital for a visit, assisted our youngest Son Mark, and it was very special the empathy Gale gave our family, during that period. Gale is just a lovely person who at times has to deal with some real grumpy granies. !

I recently stayed in the guest room at the McCarthy Stone development in Audlem while visiting my sister, who is a resident, and the experience was excellent throughout.
The accommodation and communal areas were beautifully maintained, with a high standard of cleanliness, comfort, and thoughtful attention to detail. The overall environment was calm, welcoming, and very well cared for, which made my stay both comfortable and reassuring.
Having access to a well-appointed guest room made a real difference to my visit. It provided a convenient, dignified, and comfortable place to stay within the development, allowing me to spend meaningful time with my sister while remaining close by. This thoughtful facility is a real benefit for families and greatly enhances the sense of connection and ease during visits.
I would also like to commend Katie, the House Manager, whose professionalism, kindness, and attentiveness were outstanding. She ensured everything ran smoothly and was always available in a calm, discreet, and reassuring manner, which contributed significantly to the overall positive experience.

Our move to Westwood Manor was quite stressful, but it would have been much worse had we not been fortunate enough to have Joanne Harris on our side. Joanne was determined to make the process as smooth as she could. We very much appreciated her efforts at the time which continue now we have moved in.

I have always found a warm welcome from the helpful staff when visiting my mother who is a resident at Lyle Court in Edinburgh. The property is secure and very well maintained . There is a lovely peaceful and calm ambience but I am aware there is also a very busy social calender with lots of fun activities and events . My Mum has settled in very well.

As a relative of a long term resident at Paxton Court Tenby I have found the House Manager Jackie to be consistently helpful and she seems to be a very dedicated and positive asset for the building and residents.
Very pleased overall with the MCS experience

I just wanted to write something positive about McCarthy & Stone after the negative media coverage the retirement property sector has received in recent years - particularly from those, who like me, have inherited one and find themselves having to pay ongoing charges (for the empty apartment their loved one once lived in) because they can be difficult to sell. Whilst I'm not pleased to be left in this situation, the development my late father lived in (Amelia Court, Worthing) is wonderful with so much help & 24 hour support on hand, social facilities, a restaurant with freshly cooked food, domestic help if required etc....without which he would have been lonely, isolated, unfed (because he couldn't cook in the end & wouldn't have meals on wheels) & perhaps laid there for days undiscovered after a fall without the lovely staff & warden checking on the residents daily. All such services still have to be paid for regardless otherwise those still living there wouldn't be able to benefit as my father did when he had that support - he loved & felt so safe in his apartment. Charges can be high but, these apartments are generally cheaper to buy than non-retirement flats, they are far cheaper than care homes and the pressure they can take off the social care system for vulnerable older people is, in my view, immense. It is refreshing to see so many positive reviews on here.

My mother is a resident at Butterworth Grange, Rochdale, and I am struck by the positive impact the new manager Margaret has had on her. Margaret's evident warmth and kindness have really boosted my mother's mood and helped her feel truly "at home" and at ease in her apartment since her move there 18 months ago. Thank you, Margaret. You truly have made a fabulous difference!

Debbie at Clemens Place is so lovely and helpful. She will go above and beyond to support her residents.

Lovely assistant living accommodation, superb onsite staff, but I can’t hand on heart recommend anyone buys a property here due to the inflexibility and complacency of McCarthy Stone resales and the excessively high fees charged when a property is empty - verging on criminal. Most owners have lost money.

Throughout the process of completing the tenancy on 37 Neptune house I would like to express how impressed I have been with Sheryl, she has been efficient, friendly and extremely patient, which is exactly what is needed as it is a huge move for an elderly person.

The appartments are very nice as are the community lounge and garden. The house manager is very supportive. It is good to be able spend some time with other residents in the communal lounge.

I have lived at MERCHANTS GATE for 3 years now and am very happy to be part of this development. My neighbours are friendly and helpful and there are many social events to chose from.
I have heard the phrase 'above and beyond' used many times but it couldn't be more appropriate as a description for our lovely House Manager, Kate Hodder.
Just one recent example was her resolution of an ongoing Ventilation system problem. Those of us who were impacted have now received compensation and the problem has been fixed. This was entirely due to Kate who spent considerable time ensuring that this was resolved. We are very grateful.

Cally our House Manager arrived five months ago at a difficult time. We had been without permanent Manager for sometime ( I must however mention Sylvia who stood in when she was available but this was sporadic due to the distance she had to travel, she worked hard and was personable when she was with us).
As a consequence Cally on her arrival had to cope with a number of issues and in spite of this she learnt fast and efficiently to resolved the problems all whilst remaining cheerful.
This week she organised a Bingo Night for Charity which was a huge success and was well supported by the residents, and she hopes to organise more such events in the future.
She definitely deserves her five stars.
