Such a shame we’ve always loved this restaurant and we’re regulars but tonight my son had a sirloin steak that tasted off. Even the knife he used to cut it had a an awful smell to it after cutting through the steak. We didn’t pay for the that one meal but no explanation was offered and we left feeling deflated and frankly worried that we’d be poorly having all tasted it.

We had an excellent stay and dinner at The Mermaid Inn. Unfortunately I lost my hat whilst there, but Charlotte , Lucy and Elizabeth at reception continued the search for some weeks after we checked out - and today , I received the hat through the post some weeks after I lost it . They certainly went the extra mile as regards customer service - Thank you team !

Under the leadership of Sam the Head Waiter, his young and professional staff consisting of Ryan, Bradley, Hayden, Luke and Niaomi ensured that every detail was attended to with military precision. Their attentiveness, efficiency, and warm hospitality made the entire event feel seamless and well-organized. Whether it was guiding guests to their seats, ensuring drinks were promptly served, or addressing any special requests, the staff went above and beyond even to make the celebration truly memorable.

Culinary Delights

The food deserves a special mention, as it was nothing short of exceptional. Drew the talented Head chef created a menu that showcased the finest local ingredients (Lamb was stunning) and culinary traditions, resulting in a gastronomic experience that left everyone thoroughly impressed. Each course was beautifully presented and bursting with flavor, making it evident that great care and attention had been given to every aspect of the dining experience.

Bespoke Event Planning

What truly set this event apart was the Mrs Blincows ability to create a bespoke experience tailored to my ever increasing list of demands and requests. From the decor and seating plan to the menu and special touches, every element was carefully curated to reflect my personality and tastes. This level of personalisation added an extra layer of thoughtfulness and made the occasion feel truly unique and memorable.

If you're planning a significant event, whether it's a birthday, anniversary, or any other special occasion, I cannot recommend The Mermaid highly enough.
