won't be buying from this company again.
After purchasing a car from Motorpoint, we later discovered it had been fitted with a track-only exhaust, which is not intended for use on UK roads. The exhaust is clearly stamped "Track Only", so it's difficult to understand how this was missed if the vehicle had been properly inspected before sale.
Motorpoint maintained that they had carried out all the necessary checks, but despite numerous emails and phone calls, we got nowhere. The customer service has been extremely disappointing, and I feel they were more interested in making a quick sale than ensuring the vehicle was accurately described and roadworthy.
The matter has now been referred to Trading Standards. In the meantime, I'm left with the expense and inconvenience of having to replace the exhaust so the car can be returned to legal road use.

To begin with, the staff I dealt with personally were polite and friendly. Unfortunately, the overall experience was extremely disappointing and reflected what appears to be poor management and a lack of attention to detail.
Multiple assurances were made throughout the process that were simply not followed through. We were repeatedly told that the car would be properly cleaned prior to collection, yet upon arrival it was evident that this had not been done. There was rubbish left in the back of the vehicle, crumbs throughout the interior, marks that appeared to be dried mucus, and stains that remained despite being specifically raised beforehand.
We were assured that these stains would be removed and that the car had been checked more than once by professionals. However, not only were the stains still present, but we were also informed that the cleaning team refused to do any further work on the vehicle. I find it difficult to understand how a professional cleaning service could overlook such obvious issues or consider the job complete while leaving rubbish and visible marks inside the car.
Similarly, smaller jobs that we had been promised, such as cleaning beneath the indicator lights, were ultimately refused on the day of collection. While these may seem like minor details, they demonstrate a broader lack of care and follow-through.
The entire process felt unnecessarily frustrating, and by the end it seemed as though the priority was simply completing the sale rather than delivering the vehicle in the condition that had been promised. I purchased the car because of its mileage and suitability, not because I expected perfection, but I did expect basic standards to be met and commitments to be honoured.
Had I known that this level of customer care and preparation would be acceptable, I would have taken my business elsewhere. Overall, I am very disappointed with the experience and hope that improvements are made so that future customers receive the standard of service that they are promised

The car I bought is amazing 75 plate Peugot 5008. I've had a slight issue though, as a fault as occurred. However motorpoint is sorting this out for me, as it's a recall on the model I have bought. I was given a courtesy car from motor point as Peugeot would not give me one. Motor point are sorting getting the car to the dealer. The service I've received is spot on and I've no doubt the car will come back good as new. Outstanding service from the start. Well done.

Our buyer experience was great 👍🏻 but it would have been better if the extended warranty document was handed over before leaving with the car,
I'm sure that being electric it will be very reliable but it's just something you might consider.

Advised car ready for collection and relevant docs to bring. On arrival the fault we initially identified with the hands free boot on our first visit was still not fixed. Matt the salesman was very laid-back about it saying he would get it looked at so a wasted journey for us.
To cut a long story short, by our 3rd visit having been told it was now fixed, we discovered Matt very pleased that he had got it working but on demonstrating it, only the fob opener was working and not the hands free. Matt was at a loss and when I asked him if he had checked on the system like I suggested previously to see if it was even switched on, he basically said he didn’t know how and that he sells so many different types of cars he can’t know everything! I responded sarcastically that I don’t sell cars at all but I just googled it!! He became very defensive at this point and even suggested it may not be included in this model - he should have already established that! By now we were fed up so told him the deal was off. As we left the sales manager came out to us and said he would look into it if we would give him a little time. Lo and behold turns out he used to sell Peugeot and he fixed it by switching the darn thing on in the settings.
There is no way I would recommend Matt to anyone. He almost lost them a sale by his arrogant attitude and lack of consideration for the customer being dragged back and forth and spending money on cover notes for insurance. In fairness, we were given a contribution toward this but can't compensate for poor salesman

Very happy with the company until we went to service our car. Motorpoint had sold us 2 years extended warranty for £699. However, when we went to get its first mot and service we were told that it had a 10 year warranty as long as it was serviced every year. Had Motorpoint told us this we would not have taken out their warranty. Nothing illegal just immoral.

I did a deal over the phone and agreed on a trade in price for my car before I did the 3.5hr journey over to them. Once there they tried to say I had said there was full service history on my car but there were two services missing (on an 11 year old car) I explained I had never even been asked about the service history and if I had of been I would have said mixed not full, they didn't appear to believe what I was saying which upset me as I don't tell lies. The manager then got involved and he and another two staff members listened to all three of the phone calls where the deal had been done. The two staff members then came back to me to said they had listened to the calls and I was right, service history had never even been mentioned but they were still not going to honour the agreed price and would now be offering me £300 less for my car, even though they had just admitted the error was theirs! So why hold me up for 40mins if the outcome was going to stay the same??
The manager didn't once even speak to me or apologise for their error and I was then left in a 'take it or leave it' situation, if this had of been a local depot I would have walked out of principle but I had just travelled 3.5hrs for this car so I reluctantly still made the purchase but this really doesn't sit right with me, this isn't how to do business, after listening to the call logs and seeing they were in the wrong the agreed price should have been honoured and the manager should have come to discuss it with me directly
Take this as a heads up if you are planning to buy a car from them, things like this are very underhanded and although they still got the sale out of me on the day they have definitely lost me as a future customer after this, I really don't like underhanded tactics like this so will take any future business elsewhere
I also added extended warranty to the car, nothing was really explained to me about how I get my documents etc, ive just googled it and I should have received a link from Motorpoint to set up the account...no email received. I also looked online over the weekend and Motorpoint had not informed DVLA that I had sold my car to them even though I was told they had so I had to do that myself. Pretty disappointed all-round with the customer service to be honest when I've just given the 22k of my money
EDIT - Yes, I would like a copy of the warranty emailed over to me
You state all part ex's are subject to final evaluation, that's something else that was never mentioned, the figures were passed to me and an invoice was issued, the same guy also took it upon himself to add an almost £1000 extended warranty that I very clearly told him I wanted time to think about, that's something I actually forgot to add to the review ..feel free to listen to the call logs again and once again you will see I am telling the truth
You also state its my responsibility to inform the DVLA I've sold the car, that's fine, no problem but then why tell me 'we've taken care of it all for you'??
You can try and reflect blame and sugar coat as much as you want but this type of behaviour does not get you repeat business, certainly not from me, my family or any of my friends who I've shared the experience with and also hopefully others who read this and don't want to have the same sort of poor experience. being upfront and honest is what gets you repeat business and Motorpoint couldn't have been any further away from that

Abdulraziq Hossein was the employee from Motorpoint who supported us with our journey in trading my old car in and buying a new car. He was extremely helpful and knowledgeable.
He asked us lots of open questions to identify what car we wanted as a family and helped us tailor our search and our affordability. He kept us updated at every step of the process from identifying and placing the order to collection.
Thank you Abs and Motorpoint for making our journey as a family in buying a new car, pleasant and stress free, as always.
