I am really disappointed with NASUWT. The government offer of just 1.5% pay rise in 2026 compared to what resident doctors and consultant are getting makes a mockery of our profession. Rather then the union taking action and balloting for strike action NASUWT is asking us to contact our MP and fill in a survey to ask about the pay rise and the workload. The union should be doing this on our behalf thats what we pay our union fee for. All we are getting is surveys to fill in. So far all talk and no action from this union. They really need to get there act together and fight better for their members like the RMT does for there members.

This union is beyond amazing.

I’ve had some problems at my current job, and Steve Lloyd and Alan Hackett have been absolute lifesavers. They both deserve a pay rise!
They supported me every step of the way, answered all my questions, and fought for me when I needed it most. Their advice was invaluable, and their knowledge and expertise really shone through. They genuinely care about their members and go above and beyond to help.
This union is worth every penny. I can’t thank Steve and Alan enough for everything they’ve done, and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend joining.

I have only received fantastic support from this union. On both occasions the case workers were knowledgeable and supportive in a range of ways. On both occasions I was saved from very stressful situations and the union got them closed down. I have been in this union all my teaching career and won't be changing. Trust is earnt and I wouldn't use anyone else.

I was well supported by NASUWT from the start to winning my pay appeal. From the initial phone call to Narinder’s constant support, updates and keeping in touch. Narinder provided brilliant supportive documentation that helped me to keep my appeal meeting focused and to the point.

Excellent union that cares for its members and understands the challenges teachers in all areas of education face. Outstanding support given to members facing difficulties, benevolence available and CPD.

Wouldn't be where I am now if it wasnt for the NASUWT, really supported me in my career and were there when I needed them. Fantastic teacher support as well as specialist input, support and knowledge for under-represented groups and those teachers who face additional barriers in the classroom. NASUWT is the union for teachers and BY teachers! Highly recommend!

My experience with NASUWT has been overwhelmingly positive. From the moment I first called, I have experienced nothing but a compassionate, patient, and genuinely supportive service. It was clear straight away that the people I spoke to truly cared about helping and took the time to listen carefully to my situation without rushing me.
In particular, the North Warwickshire area team have been exceptional. They are professional, approachable, and incredibly dedicated to supporting their members. Their guidance has been clear, reassuring, and practical at every stage. I never once felt like I was just another case – they treated me with respect and kindness, and they consistently went the extra mile to make sure I felt supported and informed.
I would highly recommend NASUWT to any teacher.

My rep was not available to deal with a Friday pm issue in need of urgent action before Monday so I rang the membership number and they refused to advise me. Marvellous. That’s helpful isn’t it. I would have been better off ringing DFS or Tesco!

Awful union branch in Peterborough.
Very disrespectful and unfair.
Upon reporting an incident that occurred at one of the OGMs I attended.
Being a member for 17 years, I've only ever attended a handful of OGMs, majority of these have left me very upset and offended.
At one OGM a member was allowed to speak with concerning comments towards Palestine.
Today, when I queried the payment expected towards the restaurant bill and made a suggestion, i.e. members should be reminded before placing their order of the £29 ph rule, I was called "rude", by the treasurer.
Be warned, keep away.

I paid into this union for 13 years but when I needed them they were worse than useless. The Citizens advice Bureau were much more helpful.
