New World in Waitara

This is for New World in Waitara, in 2025 I confronted a local cop in plain clothes, Kirk Sanger about him and his mates trespassing and harassing me at my home, also about him watching his cop mate Peter Lawn, cut off my breathing using an illegal move and allowing him to say racist things to me. Kirk Sanger got his other cop mate to charge me with disorderly behaviour. One of the shop owners Sharon made a false written statement to support this charge, she said she viewed the camera footage and saw me harassing the victim. That's not harassment at all. Come to the hearing, I'm self-represented and Sharon disappeared before I could question her. (I wonder why that was). The court dismissed this charge and Kirk Sanger admitted in the hearing that he is close friends with Sharon and her husband. Since 2022, Kirk Sanger has been harassing me at my home, sending his cop mates to trespass. He admitted in the hearing that he knows there are no trespassing signs on my front gate. This is who the owners are friends with. They're no better than the company they keep. Our community doesn't need people like this.

Online and delivery orders are so bad…

Online and delivery orders are so bad from here located in chrsitchurch and groceries coming from St Martins. Missing around 3 bags full of expensive groceries. My partner and I have tried all day to chase the missing groceries up and no one from customer service is actually helping. Excuses are being made about not being able to get hold of delivery drivers and the team at st Martin's new world. For a large supermarket this is ridiculous and unbelievable. Worst customer service of my life.

New world Northwood Christchurch.

New world Northwood Christchurch.
New world employe at lotto check out at 6:30pm Wednesday 29th April.
Tried to buy my Wednesday and Saturday lotto as I always do when I was told halfway through my lotto purchase by the Indian lady at the lotto check out that I could no longer buy Saturdays lotto before or on Wednesday and that I couldn't cancel my lotto transaction essentially being held to ransom. Not happy would love to know what this womans name is, being lied to by staff in charge of selling the lotto then being extorted by them because they fked up or can't manage there job properly is completely unacceptable.

My favourite supermarket !

Always tidy, neat, and very well stocked. Every time I visit, I find something I need on special, which is a great bonus. It’s definitely worth having your loyalty card with you—but if you forget, no stress, the team can easily find your account using your registered phone number and still apply the discounts.

This is my favourite supermarket—I always get exactly what I need. What really stands out is the service: the team packs your groceries with care and always greets you with a genuine smile. You can truly feel the positive atmosphere—happy employees, happy customers, and great management behind it all.

Keep up the fantastic work, New Worlders at Wigram and Halswell - Christchurch!

I like New World

I like New World. Bright and clean shops. On the smaller side they have limited product ranges but are excellent for the mid-week top up. Well turned out staff but they are seldom trained about how to pack groceries. Items that can be crushed and broken under other heavy items and the bags are often too heavy to easily lift or carry as they hand back empty bags.

Bloody awful mushy potato salad.

Popped into Pt Chev New World, & bought some potato salad for dinner tonight. It was bloody awful.
The potatoes used were the wrong type of potato so the pieces weren't firm. The potatoes used were really old & positively mushy.
I did report this to them about 2 months ago but obviously they haven't paid attention (& I'd forgotten).

Seriously rotten produce

For the fourth time I bought goods that were seriously rotten. A bag of potatoes purchased earlier turned out to have liquid rotten potato material dripping in my cupboard. The New World supermarket in Chaffers Wellington does not seem to have any idea about selling rotten food. I have never had experiences like this at any other NZ supermarket. They need to seriously review their practices

Today I shopped at New World

Today I shopped at New World, May Road, Mt Roskill, and while at the checkout counter, the lovely lady first name Sharmila assisted me solving a long time problem. She ushered me to the front counter rang head office contacted a lady who was lovely also by the name of Trish.
My details were in the system but could not be activated, temporary card that was inactive. All in all a physical card in the post. Thank you to both ladies for being so helpful. Made my day

New World tut tut tut..

My daughter at the other end of NZ from me, ordered a box of food goodies for my Father’s Day gift – I’m so fortunate to have such a considerate daughter – love her to bits.
So – I go to New World in Otumoetai and I’m told to go to the side of the building, did this, rang the door-bell (many times) and waited – no answer.
I go back around into the store and explain to the service desk lady, she picks up the phone chats to someone and tells to me go back around the building I will be met there – so I do this and nobody is there, I ring door- bell yet again several times and even held the button for 30 seconds, with no response.
Again I go back into the store and the whole procedure is repeated with no outcome.
Fed up with being treated like a New World customer of no value I told the service desk lady to contact my daughter and refund the money she paid for their service not provided.
The lady did call my daughter and was very apologetic and explained they would refund her payment, she also said they looked at the security video and said I must have being pressing the door-bell button the “wrong way”, so they lie as well as not providing a service, By the intercom door-bell there is a huge sign citing “Press the intercom door-bell” – there is only one button to press.
Why do FMCG staff lie instead of putting up their hands and admitting “we got it wrong” (we all make mistakes) – but there is no excuse for making a repetitive habit out of making the same mistake.
After 40 years as a pilot flying folks all over the planet I never had any issue with pressing the correct button before – my passengers must have just been lucky I guess.

Halswell New World - Online shopping

Always check your online order receipt. I am regularly having items substituted for the same price, but less volume. This happened again today. Either it's a top-down directive to make money, or their online shoppers failed basic math. Either way, it's not acceptable.

The first time I called about this issue, the online store manager laughed. The store manager can't be reached.

Egg Bias

To be honest, New World are good, I usually shop at Pak n Save but my next preferred place to shop is New World. However, I recently started using there delivery service for the past 6 weeks and I have one major complaint. New World only allows a customer to buy two trays of eggs no matter what size or brand your buying which I think is highly suspicious, politically driven and bias. I don't believe in this egg shortage propaganda because when I shop any where else I can buy as much eggs as I want. Countdown had this rule for a time after the 2020 lockdown but now I can at buy at least 4 trays in one transaction. I eat 6 to 8 eggs a day so this pathetic limitation on eggs that only New World is enforcing is so stupid and a inconvenience for customers. I could easily bypass this rule instore by walking through checkout twice with 2 trays each purchase, but this won't work for home delivery unless I pay a double delivery fee. So I have to buy my eggs from Pak n Save and now thinking of ending my delivery subscription with New World. It sucks paying for a food delivery service when there is a unnecessary egg restriction in place.

Illegal removal of scales in fresh produce self service fruit and veg area

When I asked why the scales in fruit and vege aea had been removed. The tall guy whomI didn't recognise replied, "Because I can". He had no interest in explaining further, instead telling me three times in slightly different terms that if I didn't like it, to go elsewhere. Somewhat gobsmacked after the third abusive response I told him to F*"k off.He told me I was trespassed,to leave the shop, and not to come back. Two days later I received advice from the Weights and Measures dept, that under the Fair Trading Act scales were legally required As this the only supermarket in Taihape after having advised the shop owner of his legal obligation and he offered an apology for my experience and lifting the trespass order. To my knowledge the scales had. not been replaced a week on from my complaint online to Weights and Measures. As there is no other supermarket I placed an online order, and when it arrived it had additional items I hadn't ordered, but which I often buy! An inducement to back off? Not happening! The Taihape New World is breaking the law and should be required by weights and measures to reinstate the scales in their fresh produce self service area asap.

Great Store, Better Pricing Needed

Online store is meh, but I like their staff and the way they discount things in store. Like you'd never expect somethings to be discounted but they are. They should make club discounts just discounts for everyone overall.
