Krka National Park Reviews 

A beautiful and peaceful place with many plants, insects of interest etc. The board walk through the park is well-done. So that’s the good. Now for something disturbing. I was pickpocketed on my walk by a thief who took all my Euros and £ sterling, total loss worth ca £300. I travel the world on my own to cities/countries with high crime rates - no bother at all. I come to this lovely place, with little crime, and someone very expertly gained access to my backpack which never left my sight and stole from me. I have NO idea how it happened but two others in our group were targeted - a guy felt someone bump into him, he whirled round to see a guy jump back and his rucksack partly undone; in addition a woman found her backpack undone but nothing stolen as there was nothing of value in there. So …. A beautiful place but BEWARE! They (not sure who, probably not locals) are targeting tourists - the place is very busy and this is what happens. I hope karma visits my thief

I would avoid this for two reasons: the transportation system is badly organized causing problems and they hire contractors who are aggressive, hostile and dangerous, basically - they don't like tourists.While the park is picturesque - the falls at Plitvice are nicer and you don't nee to take the ferry.

Details: last month I was traveling with a group of people and we took a ferry from Skradin to the National Park in Krka. We had a 14:30 reservation to return to Skradin because we had scheduled plans based upon this return. They park sells reserved and non-reserved tickets. When we came to the dock there was a long line and they didn't care whether of not you had a reservation (so what's the point of reserving for specific time)??

We attempted to board as they were closing the ferry (the Kralj Domagoj) and the ships's captain told the staff to let us board - when a large bully over 2 meters began yelling at and pushing people from our group including women. I was at the back to the crowd and when I realized what was happening I made my way to the front to confront him, and the coward ran on the ship to hide, quickly pulled up the gangway and gave me the finger as the ship pulled safely away (welcome to Croatia).

We contacted the ferry line and the parks service, and were told that the man pictured didn't work directly for the parks, but was subcontracted from a cargo shipping company, and nothing could be done. So the parks services hires contractors (cargo handlers) during peak periods without doing drug, alcohol or criminal background screening to deal with tourists, putting unsuspecting tourists in danger of being attacked by the hostile thugs it employs.

Truthfully, I wouldn't go back or recommend it - if this is how Croatia allows visitors to be treated, I would rather go to Italy or Greece where the people are more welcoming.

Visit was in January. You can enter by car. Some services aren't running, some sites are not open which was declared on their page = so far so good. However, there is no transparency throughout.
At the reception, they said that the cave near Roski slap was open. Upon arrival, it turns out that it is only open for the bats who hibernate there until April.
Roski slap near the cave: there it was said that proper toilets down at the lake were open but nothing was open. All shops closed, no toilets. There's a chemical one where you park.
Not sure, if the mistake is at the receiving end of the information flow or at the start.
What was a real concern were the planks of the footpaths. These allow you to walk like on a meandering bridge above the water. The planks were partly renewed but worse than the old ones that are still in place in parts of the same trail. There were gaps in between the planks of differing widths, 2-5cm (1-2 inches). Also, they were not evened out: differing heights of single planks, 2cm or 1 inch higher and lower. You have to look down where you walk throughout and can't enjoy the surroundings you are here for. You stop, look around, then walk on, lifting your feet higher than usual at each step like players of a military brass band. If you don't you might stumble over planks sticking out. The older planks still existing in some parts weren't perfect but better. Now would be a good time to renew at least the new ones.

So expensive in July! 40€ per adult 15€ for a child. That includes the 10min boat ride to the waterfalls… packed already at 9am!
Also be aware as you enter by car ( we went with Motorhome) park attendance stands on the side road and telling you to park. We thought it was the only car park in the area as they were guiding us there.

Abuse on the price for tourists in season be carefull

Great waterfalls and beautiful nature. The Krka National Park has a wonderful walking tour around the waterfalls (we entered the National Park from the Lozovac entrance). And the possibility to swim close to the waterfalls is stunning. We went there with our two kids (8 and 11 years old) and they loved it. If you like, you can walk down from the parking lot, but there's also a bus directly to the entrance of the Skradinski buk waterfall. When we visited in July there were a lot of visitors. We would recommend to visit after three o'clock in the afternoon since that's where most people are starting to leave - giving a bit more room to swim and find a place to sit.
