While we don't verify specific claims because reviewers' opinions are their own, we may label reviews as "Verified" when we can confirm a business interaction took place. Read more

Speedtest app is absolute garbage

Speedtest app is absolute garbage - fails to work on my Mac, either says cannot connect to the internet, which is rubbish as everything else can, or simply hangs connecting.
I don't have VPN or ad blockers installed.
Why can't it just work? It shouldn't need special access or permissions to check the speed of the internet.
Allowing adult website access got me further - stopped it hanging trying to connect but then simply says could not connect to the internet.
Other thing is it always used to say 'Your connection to the internet may be unstable' - without ever giving any indication as to why it thought that.
Think it's time to find an alternative.

I’m experiencing an issue with Speedtest: the test doesn’t load or start, and the page stays stuck and by sharing it copying the link it does not show nor give the proper result link which is required in many application forms for jobs . This is not a complaint — just letting you know in case there’s a technical problem on your side. Thank you.
