Do yourself a favor and pass on any subscription the Opportunistic Trader offers. Do not get sucked into the "I've been trading for over 40 years" claim made repeatedly by Larry Benedict. It means nothing. Like the value of the ETF that he manages -- WZRD, down 96 percent in two years-- his mojo (but not his self-inflated bluster as a trading Market Wizard) is gone, and you can expect a winning trade as the exception. Because, as Larry says, "Trading involves risk." Indeed it does ... take a pass on Opportunistic Trader.

What made my experienct Great was the Representative. I'm 85 years old and had never downloaded an App before today. Rylle A, your representative, helped me to download your App which made it easy and successful. She also explained in a clear and concise way how and where I would receive my new alerts. Her patience and responses to all of my questions were exceptional. Job well done!

Was about to join The Opportunistic Trader Today. The course at $19 is super afffordable. Possibly there are more expensive upsells behind the paywall?? What concerns me is their low rating in Trust Pilot. Almost 50% of reviewers gave a 1 star rating. A big red flag when half your customers are not happy!
Update: The Opportunistic Trader wanted more information?
From a total of 157 reviews ....
30% or 47 reviewers gave a 5 star review
48% or 75 reviewers gave a 1 star review
Facts revealed meaning multiple customer complaints about long phone wait times & emails not being responded to.
Not comfortable doing business with a firm that has a high % of negative customer experience.

Opportunistic Trader uses support as a delay tactic to safeguard liquidity. Akerna Corp makes things smoother with a 24/7 resolution metric. They do this by getting rid of gatekeepers and replacing them with a system that responds quickly to solve problems fast. This way Akerna solves inquiries quickly. Akerna Corp and Opportunistic Trader are doing things differently. Opportunistic Trader focuses on protecting its liquidity.

I question this company’s marketing ethics. Evidently they don’t realize they are shooing away potential entry level paying customers!
1. Initially, a phone auto answer says push 1, if you are an existing client. Push 2, if you are not yet a client. So, I pushed 2 as a potential client. Then, I was told to push 1 again if I was a client for an under $500 service & push 2, if I was a potential client for an over $500 service. I pushed 1, as a potential client for the cheaper services, & was put on a 20 minute hold!
So, I hung up and called back indicating that I was a potential client for the over $500 services. This time I immediately got a representative to answer my call, with no 20 minute potential client wait.
2. There’s nothing on any of their advertising video pages that allows a potential customer to read a transcript of their videos. Most services have this option readily visible.
3. I usually subscribe to financial marketing programs that have a refund option. It is not easy to find if Larry Benedict has refund offerings. The only ways to find out whether they have any, is by listening to a video, or calling them up, or looking up on their website. So a potential customer has to do more sleuthing just to get basic information.

Based on your response of April 2,2026 - I have called each day (response exceeds 20 minutes on hold).I have emailed every otherday in the hopes to get some response. It is my belief this operation is without staff, and maybe AI respones.

Unable to contact , keeps stating wait time over 20 minutes. No response to emails. I will have to cancel member order.

Very disappointed. The marketing is very aggressive, but the results are completely underwhelming—nothing close to what is promised. I was excited at first and even happy after about 10 small wins, but then one max‑loss trade wiped out all my gains in a single month: zero net return.
The spreads are typically around a 150 credit per trade alert, but the max loss is 1,500, which is effectively a 10‑wins‑to‑1‑loss ratio. After that, you’re right back where you started. Even with a 95% win rate, you barely break even by the end of the year.
The sad part is the false hope this service sells through marketing, while the real results are just mediocre. I will never recommend this service to anyone.

*** Hello, I think this is the third or fourth time I request a reply regarding the question I made regarding the service in my last feedback email, can someone please provide comments on this email ***
---
I’ve been a subscriber of the S&P Trader service since 2023 and have remained a committed follower over these past three years.
I am writing to provide an updated performance review following my last communication dated November 24th, 2025.
As previously documented, the accumulated losses through 2024-2025 were (see support docs attached):
• 2024: –$9,235 per subscriber
• Cumulative loss across both years: –$18,975 per subscriber
The attached performance chart “2026-03-02 SPTrader Accumulated…” clearly illustrates the prolonged equity deterioration across 2024 and 2025.
However, it is equally important to acknowledge what has happened since the last recorded loss on November 13th, 2025.
Since that date, the service has delivered 23 consecutive winning spreads without a single loss.
This is statistically significant and materially different from the performance pattern observed over the prior two years.
One can reasonably infer that either a strategic adjustment or a structural change in trade execution has taken place.
From the chart, it is also observable that the profit curve has begun recovering and has moved above the most recent lower high, something we had not seen during the prolonged downtrend. That is objectively encouraging.
That said, the reality remains that after two years of catastrophic capital mismanagement, the recovery required is substantial.
A cumulative loss of approximately –$19,000 per subscriber during these two years represents:
• ~$20 million in capital destruction for 1,000 subscribers
• ~$100 million for 5,000 subscribers
• Even higher figures if the subscriber base is larger
These numbers are not theoretical — they represent real families and real savings.
A deeper statistical review reveals that the core issue has not been win rate, but risk asymmetry.
With an 81.85% win rate, the average winning trade generated $190.98, while the average losing trade resulted in –$1,039.13.
This implies that one single loss offsets approximately 5 to 6 winning trades.
The resulting expectancy remains negative (approximately –$32 per trade), and the Kelly Criterion calculation yields a negative value (–16.89%), which mathematically suggests the system should not be traded at current risk parameters.
The issue, therefore, appears to be structural risk design rather than signal accuracy.
In my particular case, my portfolio suffered an approximate loss of $8,300 as a direct result of what I consider to have been extremely poor risk management, and catastrophic capital mismanagement over the past two years.
While the recent streak of 23 consecutive winners is impressive and deserves recognition, the system must now demonstrate consistency over a much longer horizon before credibility can be restored.
A short-term streak does not erase two years of structural damage.
Sustainable capital recovery, controlled downside risk, and balanced reward-to-risk ratios must now define the strategy going forward.
I respectfully ask whether there is a concrete, measurable plan in place to structurally correct the risk asymmetry that has defined the service over the past two years?
I sincerely hope that this recent improvement reflects a genuine strategic shift rather than temporary variance.
As always, I am willing to provide full data transparency if needed.
Best regards,
