Worthless nagware

Paint Shop Pro 2023 is a worthless buggy piece of nagware. Random crashes, illogical behaviour. Sheer frustration to work with. It used to be so much better. Maybe the code has been turned into some kind of AI slop and now they will not release improved versions because nobody knows how to maintain it anymore.

Paintshop Pro very Poor now…

I have been using Paintshop Pro since the 90s when owned by Jasc Software. It was brilliant. Then it was taken over by Corel in 2004 . I loved it and it definitely got as good as Photoshop for a quarter of the price. But the last version Pro 2023 has been a complete let down. I keep having issues. Support advised to uninstall and reinstall but still issues, like no response from any action, suddenly going from layer to layer changes nothing even if I hide all of them. Or deleting a selection, nothing.
I'm really fed up now and having been a huge loyal fan all these years, going to look elsewhere.

Simply horrible for casual users

Simply horrible for casual, basic users like me. I used Paint Shop Pro for years, I used version 5 and upgraded to 10, and it was ideal. I was forced into WIN11 (yes, of course you know about it) and bought PSP 2022. All the icons and tabs are microscopic and I can't find even the most basic features, like the standard palette. I am looking for a simple, buy-once-own-forever app. Any suggestions?

can't re-install

had many versions of Paintshop... On my new computer I can't install it. No trace of it on Corel sites. I have no record of serial number or version. I depend on Corel's recirds to re-install it. No response from sites which all require serial number. yes, I should have been more careful...

Most bug-ridden software I've ever used

I had to upgrade (I loved PSP 10, my laptop died and I couldn't download 10 anymore)

PSP 2023 is one of the most bug-ridden pieces of software I've ever used. It literally cannot do the basics of "save" or "open a dialog". It's corrupted files, not saved every layer, added in a layer I didn't create, lost information - deleted my image while I'm working on it, undo doesn't always undo, even for the last one, it crashes fairly often and throws up error messages about invalid functions, and when it crashes if you restart and your saved file is more recent than the recovery file - tough. It'll overwrite your most recent file with the recovery file, without asking you. And if you want to do something complicated...don't bother - I'd be better signing my life away to Picsart pro. It might cost more, but at least I can be productive.

Worse - Corel have said they're not going to release a new version or any patches. I feel like I've been conned.

On the plus side, you can turn off the AI.

The PSP 2023 is terrible

I just upgraded to 2023 from 2019. The latter is no longer supported and it seems to be that Corel made a last update to actually hinder the way the program works to push people into upgrades (Apple was caught doing this with their iPhones, if you didn't hear). Now the 2023 version sucks and so did Corel support at 2 levels. I am going to get my refund on the 2023 and go back to 2019 on block all updates.

Bought some extra script

Bought some extra script. After I had my computer formatted and reinstalled. Have I lost the scripts I bought and can't get them back without having to buy them again. Absolutely cannot recommend this product.

I am really not happy

I am really not happy. the problem is this. I have spent - get this - R12000 more or less on Coral Paintshop Pro - Over time this program has taken longer and longer to load - while i am writing this, it is still loading. And my graphics card runs off the charts each time - for about 4 minutes - then it loads - i work on it for about 30 minutes and like clockwork it freezes up - its a major let down - no ones bothered to try help - i am not a happy customer at all
