PCGS A SERVICE YOU CANNOT RELY ON
Just submitted coins for grading, they indicated there was an issue. That only found out about because I happen to look at the status of the submission. They did even let me know. No email or call from them. I have tried calling and emailing and no response. There general call backs are always full. There problem issues line no one answers. I would not recommend PCGS services.

I was a member of PCGS for many years
Submitting Coins for grading. Up until recently when many of these online coin shows started submitting thousands of coins to them they used to be quite reasonable in their turnaround time and customer service. I recently was injured and was unable to get my Coins to submit them in time before my membership expired and asked for an extension. It was denied. It seems as if all they care about is making money from the online platforms and don’t really care about regular coin collectors . So sad fortunately there are many other coin graders, where they still have old-school values and care about their customers especially the ones who’ve been with them for many years. My advice is to find some one who has a more customer friendly service.
They claimed that my package was…
They claimed that my package was missing a coin. They then dragged the process out until after the 60 day limit to file an insurance claim with USPS. They are dishonest and strongly suggest you avoid them
They're simply thieves
They're simply thieves: there's nothing else to be said. One ROUTINELY sees coins with PLAINLY VISIBLE flaws that PCGS graded an MS-66 or MS-67. (This is FAR worse than the "gemologist" who tells you the diamond is H-color if you want to SELL it but G-color if you want to BUY it.) Furthermore, my wife attended a PCGS coin fair in Baltimore and submitted three coins for grading. Never mind having received nothing back yet, but they ENDLESSLY pester her with emails and texts and what-not and expect her to PHONE THEM to get her ratings--like they're unable (or can't afford) to mail a professional business letter. ABSOLUTELY UNBELIEVABLE!!
WORST experience ever
WORST experience ever. They ended up losing my coins and not taking any responsibility. Took 5 months for them to respond to my inquiry and ignore my follow up messages. STAY AWAY!
Lousy Service!
$1933 for 13 various US coins to be graded. No grading, No certification, No encapsulation. They assigned a sticker to my coin holders and used my estimated grade on the packing slip. The worst coin grading service available.
My first experience with PCGS
I’m honestly very frustrated with my recent PCGS submission experience.
I sent in multiple Mexican Libertads that all came from the same original bank roll purchased from a reputable dealer, expecting a reasonable level of consistency in grading. Instead, I received mixed results that are difficult to reconcile—specifically, a coin with uniform green/teal toning and visible streaking graded MS67, while other coins from the same roll with more typical peripheral rainbow toning were labeled “Genuine – Questionable Color (91).”
That contrast is hard to understand. If these coins truly originated from the same source and storage environment, the criteria for what qualifies as market-acceptable toning does not appear to be applied consistently. The outcome gives the impression of subjectivity rather than a clearly defined and consistently applied standard.
I even have video documentation of the purchase and origin, yet that appears to carry no weight in the evaluation. There has been no conservation or artificial treatment, but the coins were still flagged as questionable. It feels like graders are relying heavily on personal interpretation instead of applying a clear, objective standard—especially when there is legitimate provenance.
To make matters worse, the only path forward offered is to pay additional fees for reconsideration or regrading, with no assurance of a different outcome. After already paying for grading, that’s difficult to justify.
For a company that positions itself as an industry leader, I expected more consistency, clearer standards, and greater transparency in the process. Based on this experience, the results feel unpredictable and ultimately disappointing.

Spent $250 on a coin I took to experts that said it should grade 67-68 (people who have experience and looked under microscope that I trust) and that I should insure it for around 15k. I paid for fastest service which was the only good part, got back within a week. Came back “damaged” and no grade, yet still paid all this money for something that’s worth no more than melt now. I feel whoever graded was having a bad day and just slapped something on they didn’t care about. I know it’s not your money but to us “non godly” figures that don’t work there, the difference between 1200$ and 15000$ is a lot. I wonder if my rushed order was rushed on their end. I asked for clarification and over a week later with no response. Frustrating and disappointing. Won’t be wasting my money on a gamble if my grader is having a good or bad day and taking personal feelings into account. Should have just had them slab as authentic and went from there.

Terrible customer service
Terrible customer service. The worst. First nobody ever comes on their "Chat line." That is useless. Calling the Customer Service Line is no better. After an endless runaround of automated messages, there is an interminable wait and no one ever came on after an hour. I'll try NGC next time. Hopefully a better option.
Worst grading company ever!!!
Worst grading company ever!!!! Since I did not pay extra for a better grade or error even though I told them to charge me extra to determine the coin and
It was so near mint and they graded it as a MS 61!!!!!! Bull shish is all I can say they are crooks and I lost 200 dollars because of a low grade!!!!!!

They keep trying to fraud my card and take unauthorized payments. I had a membership which was already a complete waste of money, once it was expired I canceled the membership. Right after they attempted to renew the membership, so I contacted support and they assured me the card would be removed and payment attempts stopped. Since then they have attempted to take payment 4 more times despite my constant messages to their support team. I have now had to report the issue to my banks fraud department in an effort to stop these constant attempts. Luckily I only load the card when needed.
Horrid customer service
Horrid customer service. These people are worthless.
PCGS - A CROOKED DIS-HONEST COMPANY
My name is Donald DeChaine. I've been told by PCGS since November 2025 that my $69.00 refund was approved and I would have it in 16 to 24 days. (I believe they want you to forget about it during those 16 to 24 days) it's hard to get someone on the phone and when you email them, you get another email stating that action is required and you should email etc etc. They are ABSOLUTELY NOT A
TRANSPARENT and HONEST COMPANY. There are certain Credit Card Companies that WILL NOT approve a customers CC charge if it's from PCGS. APPARENTLY THEY ARE CROOKS. They do not honor their refund policy and their coin grading is below par. They are terrible.
We have to be wary nowadays
We have to be wary nowadays, our valuables for a rainy day that we had stashed in the cubby hole or things that we inherit and are selling are a part of our hope. We are being preyed upon by unscrupulous people with no morality whatsoever. Especially people with supposed reputation and title are now the robbers and rapists of our society. Don't believe their lies or hype.Be patient and find a soluble source to do business with.
Some grader, more of a promter ??
This is a company that promotes bad companies on there website, selling fake coins to the general public.
Spoke with Tristan & here is his reply
" We advise to be cautious with Ebay, as instances like this have happened in the past."
I never saw no other warning advertisement listed on their website other than as an affiliated member ?
Surely you should not be displaying & highlighting them knowing of there track record.
Bad bad bad.

This place is a pain in the A$$. Horrible phone service times and waits. Horrible instructions to fill out forms and form format.

Not enough transparency.

Going to find alternative to PCGS, I've had enough!
One of the worst experiences ever
One of the worst experiences I've ever had with a company. I sent several coins in. I started getting emails saying they needed more money for this coin or that coin for various stupid reasons. I was already paying a lot for grading. I paid the extra money. After all that, they do a DNC on most of my coins, I think this means do not crossover, bottom line you get the coin back that you sent them. If that's not bad enough, they shipped it back fed ex overnight, which cost me $108. When I complained they said that when I marked "standard" for return shipping, that this means standard overnight. How ridiculous. Why would I need a coin overnighted? They don't care, they have their money. I'll never do business with these idiots again.
What a rip off
What a rip off. I sent error coins and they graded them as if looking for an uncirculated grade. Over $400 for two quarters, CLEARLY DOUBLE STRUCK, and they ignored the intent and instructions for the submission. This is a club of neck-beard brats who couldn't make it in programming but who do belong in mommy's basement. Sadly, they have a platform to rip off beginners.
