It's disappointing to not use your working experience as students teaching.

It’s user friendly and the enrollment officers and academic support department keeps you informed and checks up or in with you and how your progress

The format makes it easy for working professionals to balance work and school.

I felt the program was well organized. I appreciated that my EDD/583 class went along with my student teaching clinical practice. This seemed to help my complete my edTPA in a way that was manageable and understandable.

I'm just bored with the program

Loved almost everything about the program.
Had one instructor during the entire course structure that did not communicate well and made class a struggle. Everything else aboit the program was very straight forward.

It worked with my schedule and I wanted to be able to focus on one class at a time and keep that momentum going. Great instructors that gave me their attention with topics or concepts I needed more clarification with.

My Wife and Children Were in a Car Accident, and University of Phoenix Told Me I Wasn't Directly Affected
I enrolled at the University of Phoenix because I wanted to further my education and build a better future for my wife and children. Like many students, I am balancing school with work and family responsibilities. I chose an online university because I believed it would offer flexibility and understanding when unexpected life situations came up. Unfortunately, my experience has been incredibly disappointing.
During my course, my wife and children were involved in a car accident. As a husband and father, naturally, my priority was my family's safety and well-being. Having your immediate family involved in an accident is stressful and emotionally overwhelming, and it affected my ability to focus on my coursework and keep up with my school responsibilities.
contacted the University of Phoenix to explain what had happened and see whether there was any way to work with me given the circumstances. What I was told during that call was honestly shocking. I was informed that because I was not physically in the accident myself, I was not directly affected by it.
That response made me feel as though the university completely disregarded the fact that my wife and children had been involved in a car accident. Apparently, unless I was physically involved in the accident myself, the situation was not considered serious enough to warrant understanding or assistance. The way I experienced that conversation left me feeling like I was essentially being told to deal with it myself and that the university was not willing to help.
As a husband and father, how am I not directly affected when my wife and children are involved in a car accident? Am I supposed to pretend nothing happened and continue completing assignments as if my family had not just experienced something potentially traumatic?
I was not asking the university to give me a free grade or ignore its academic standards. I was asking for understanding and a reasonable opportunity to navigate an unexpected family emergency. There is a difference between asking for special treatment and asking an institution to show basic compassion toward a student whose immediate family has been involved in an accident.
Unfortunately, the situation ultimately contributed to me failing the class. That is especially frustrating because I enrolled to improve my future and provide more opportunities for my family. Instead of feeling supported during a difficult time, I felt dismissed, and I am now left dealing with the academic consequences.
What bothers me most is the contradiction between promoting online education for working adults and the experience of trying to get help when a serious family situation arises. Students have lives outside the classroom. We have spouses, children, jobs, and responsibilities. Unexpected emergencies do not conveniently happen around assignment deadlines.
I understand that policies exist for a reason, but I believe there should be a reasonable process for reviewing individual circumstances. Even if an extension or accommodation could not be guaranteed, I expected someone to listen, explain my options, and treat my situation with respect.
The way this was handled has seriously damaged my trust in the University of Phoenix. Education is a significant investment of both time and money, and students deserve to feel that their concerns will be taken seriously when they reach out for help.
My recommendation to anyone considering the University of Phoenix is to think carefully before enrolling. Ask questions about emergency accommodations, extensions, academic appeals, and what happens when a serious family emergency interferes with coursework. Do not assume that an online university's advertised flexibility means you will receive understanding when you genuinely need it.
I wanted to earn my degree and build a better life for my family. I never expected that reaching out for help after my wife and children were involved in a car accident would leave me feeling so dismissed.
In my opinion, the university needs to do better. Students should be held accountable for their education, but they should not have to feel that their family circumstances do not matter simply because they were not physically present at an accident.
I would not recommend the University of Phoenix based on my experience.

So far, my experience has been great. I like knowing that the structure for each class is the same, wich helps me to prepare and stay focused.the instructors, and all of the staff have been professional and helpful.

In response to my recent review I know even if you direct this matter to the proper team it will not change. Students shouldn’t have to wait for their funds when the school already has gotten their portion from our money. I see someone else just wrote something about you guys only being concerned about getting money from us and not bettering the algorithm. I would like my excess funds please. Like I said we shouldn’t have to wait some of us have kids. It’s very frustrating when someone mentions helping with the problem and nothing gets done. I have been to another university before coming to Phoenix and they would never do this.

A dream came true when graduated from this amazing University, thank you everyone for making this happen for me.

This school equipped me with the skills I needed to be able to progress career wise. And I want to Thank the whole school for the opportunities I have been offered due to me gaining my education from this school.

From my initial conversation with the UOPX representative to getting my financial aid squared away - to my program ending on Monday, I’ve had a great experience. I was worried about the accreditation or how employers would feel about my program. It’s about continuous learning and UOPX does a wonderful job preparing graduates with its rigorous coursework on industry leading subjects.
