Breaking the Law

I have now unsubscribed numerous times from their email promotions (SPAM) but STILL receive Spam daily! Obviously they don't want to lose subscribers and are quite prepared to flaunt the law in doing so.
Even reporting the Spam to my email provider does not have any effect - they keep on coming day after day.
Some companies are relentless in their quest to promote themselves and simply ignore the Data Protection Act 2018 and the UK GDPR as well as Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR).
I will be contacting and reporting the abuse to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk)
You may want to do the same if you are a persistent victim of Spam.

Deception

I delete my account - then I am instantly taken back to a screen to log in - which then reactivates it. This is deceptive.

Having been scammed twice by 'bait and…

Having been scammed twice by 'bait and switch' ads on pinterest, I just wanted to warn others as the pinterest reporting system doesnt even have a 'scam' option because they just want the ad revenue [and reporting it using the not-quite-right category of 'misleading claims' makes the algorithm give me more in my feed!]. The two that caught me out are:
- ads showing gorgeous, oversized fluffy sweaters in 'cashmere mix' or 'Australian merino' that are discounted by around 70% and the "offer runs out in 24h", or similar. What you'll be sent is a nasty acrylic thing that looks vaguely like the photo and is unwearable the cheapest sweater you can imagine]. There are dozens of these companies on Pinterest, which you can identify by checking the returns policy, which will list China as the return location [or will not say exactly where to return it but will state that the item is "shipped from Asia"]. You can always tell these as they have dreamy sweaters in the photos [they all use similar photograpy] but you've never heard of the brand.
- the second one is companies calling themselves anything along the lines of 'Mary's gems', Beth's gems, Kate's jewels, etc, and there will always, always be a story about 'closing the shop after decades as a jeweller so selling everything cheap". Again, what you're sent is not the same as the photo and will be plastic cracker tat. Definitely worth.

I thought this was a trustworthy site

I thought this was a trustworthy site. They advertised dresses from Oliver Harrison which I subsequently bought. The quality of the dresses was awful and certainly not cheap. I have since noticed the dresses for sale under other company names. Buyers beware!

The whole process works so smoothly

The whole process works so smoothly. It feels that everyone that uses it, is a valued participant. There is a kind and friendly environment. I trust it, which is the most important aspect for me today in engaging with companies.

These people are despicable

These people are despicable. I never had an account with these people but they continue to use my photos and display my internet activity. You can't remove your details and it is a major violation of privacy. Google are no better. I am stopping all use of the internet.

I was repeatedly served ads for upmarket menswear "Hamburg modehaus". When I made a purchase a ridiculous, cheap item turned up that was vaguely the same colour. The top looks flammable and made for Poundland. I tried contacting company and number not working and email not replying. Tried going onto Pinterest to get them to remove and due to standards / misrepresentation and I cannot get hold of the right path to communicate with them.

Gay Man's Comments BLOCKED, Pins And Boards REMOVED, Account SUSPENDED! ... Homophobic Victimisation?

Despite the one-star rating, it's actually a well-deserved ZERO STARS for Pinterest! ... Congratulations!!! Being SO DESPISED is quite an achievement?

PLEASE NOTE: I'm NOT expecting any sympathy or understanding from any homophobic Trustpilot users! (LOL)

I'm a gay man with a "wicked sense of humour," but based on my experience, discriminatory Pinterest REALLY "don't like the gays!"

Pinterest seemingly have NO PROBLEM with all things "heterosexual!" Pinterest is littered with Pins which break the rules, and which depict WOMEN!

I've been a Pinterest user for over 7 years. My account is (or was) a reflection of my personality. I've put in a LOT of hard work and enthusiasm to build up 700+ followers. At the risk of sounding "big headed," my Phone is (or was) "whistling" and "vibrating" all day and night with notifications of "likes" on my witty comments, and new followers! At last look, there were 400+ notifications!

For a while now Pinterest have regularly BLOCKED my comments, REMOVED my Pins and Boards, and on 31.08.22 SUSPENDED my account. All my hard work is GONE!

I've seen other user's Boards literally BRIMMING WITH FETISH, NUDITY and PORNOGRAPHY! ... Far worse than mine!

These "anti-free speech" fools NEVER identify offending Pins, while allowing MUCH WORSE Pins to remain on their discriminatory site! They suspended my account and did NOT say how long the suspension was for, and I CANNOT APPEAL, as I cannot access my account. My account is "user not found," so they have effectively kicked me off their nasty little site.

As a gay man, I've been VICTIMISED all my life. I've been attacked, assaulted, and verbally abused. My homophobic neighbour even threatened to KILL ME (with witness), and he got away with it! My Landlord took me to COURT recently, blaming ME for all the horrific troubles I've suffered over the last 17 years! I've been treated like dirt for DECADES! This has caused SERIOUS DAMAGE to my mental health! ... In my opinion, Pinterest are no better than a bunch of nasty homophobes!

Pinterest can PERMANENTLY DELETE my account with immediate effect, if they have not done so already. If access is restored, then I will delete it myself.

Pinterest are PERMANENTLY BOYCOTTED!!! I will NEVER darken their Boards again ... EVER!

It didn't take long to see another Trustpilot reviewer saying that Pinterest are "anti-free speech!" ... And seemingly, especially if you're a GAY MAN! ... Pinterest REALLY "don't like the gays!" ... And that is where we came in ...

PINTEREST PLEASE DELETE MY ACCOUNT PERMANENTLY AND WITH IMMEDIATE EFFECT! You don't deserve witty, intelligent, enthusiastic users, who also happen to be GAY MEN!

You could say, I've lost INTEREST in PINTEREST!

I've already DELETED the Pinterest App from my mobile devices, and in my computer records, I've marked my Pinterest account (opened in 2015) as SUSPENDED PENDING PERMANENT DELETION!

As the others have said (which I had seen first), the whole ad system is a con. Hard sell with lots of promises and made it so difficult to turn the ads off. I turned off ads a month ago... checked today and they had been turned back on!!! CON!! Stay away. Sell outs!

Outrageously bad to promote your business

Having started a small business I used a number of platforms to promote the business.

All platforms, except Pinterest, charge you money BASED ON RESULTS. This company charge you for just (allegedly) displaying your picture and class this as a 'click' even without any customer or viewer engagement.

They provide zero evidence to prove anyone has seen or acted on your pictures and just charge a fee based on an arbitrary number of clicks that they claim have been made (without any proof that the clicks even existed).

I had ZERO viewer engagement and a £42.83 bill.

I would not recommend Pinterest to my worst enemy, except possibly my ex-wife.

Pinterest sold out to advertisers

Pinterest is just a method of delivering adverts now, they get in the way. The constant prompts to ‘love something’ etc etc is drumming down what used to be a very useful creative ideas platform. Not a good experience any more.

Can find some really cool stuff

Can find some really cool stuff, but it suffers from some major flaws:

I kept getting royal family recommendations on my feed and for some reason every single one of them was those stupid small images that don't have an option to hide and click "not relevant to me". So I had to see hundreds of pins I hated seeing, just because I couldn't select "not relevant to me" almost as if... it was intentional.

I keep seeing pins that are clearly not in a language I understand, these could easily be filtered from my feed. Also I should be able to choose not to see any pin that doesn't have a title.

I keep seeing spam pins that are fake and all lead to websites that are trying to give you a virus. These could easily be blocked by not allowing them to use link redirectors or simply use captcha to stop spam bots. I also keep getting followed by obvious spam bots.
