A very memorable experience
My partner and I visited in late September/early October of 2026. We had a really wonderful time and the entire trip surpassed all our expectations. We are greatly appreciative of the warmth, kindness and hospitality we received. Thank you!
Our first trip to Africa was with…
Our first trip to Africa was with Gamewatchers safari and it was to Masai Mara. We absolutely loved the way our trip was organized. Everything was taken care of and there were zero issues to complain about.
Special shout to out Pranay who was very patient in addressing all our queries. He used to call us during the trip to check if things were going as per plan.
We enjoyed the first time experience very much and choose game watchers safari again for our next trip to Botswana. Needless to say, this was also exceptionally handled.
Highly recommend Game watchers safari
Excellent and professional service with an emphasis on eco tourism and sustainability
Another excellent safari from Gamewatchers safaris. Exceptional and professional service, from the seamless booking process, knowledgeable and informative advice on lodges, camps and locations. Personal attention from the staff, from our arrival into Kenya.
Although we did not stay at a Porini camp on this visit we have on previous trips and support the ethics and ethos of the eco camps and supporting the local communities through education, and conservation, aspects which are very important to us when booking a safari.
Amazing Safari
Gamewatchers team designed the most amazing holiday and looked after us every inch of the way...lovely people, camps and food not to mention excellent game drives and very knowledgeable game spotters and drivers.
Second trip as good as the first
This is the second time we have used Gamewatchers on a visit to Kenya. Both times we were very pleased. Everyone who planned our trips were patient and kind and even changed our itinerary when asked. We thought the Porini Camps were well run with wonderful guides and drivers who are very knowledgeable and friendly. The food at the camp is delicious and the camp managers and staff did a great job of making sure we were comfortable. If we are lucky enough to return, we will be using Gamewatchers for our travel needs.
Proven reliability and professionalism
We have been on safari with Gamewatchers and Porini Camps a number of times and can't speak highly enough about all aspects. Booking is very easy using one of their dedicated agents who handle everything, including internal travel to camps, except your international flights. The Porini Camps offer first class tented accommodation along with game drives by professional guides within the conservancies.
Outstanding in every way.
Wonderful experience from end to end
Super responsive and detailed communications which made booking so easy. The safari itself was incredible - from the guides to the staff to the food. Highly recommend!
You won’t regret booking with Gamewatchers safaris!
We are so glad we booked with Gamewatchers Safaris. We stayed at Porini Cheetah camp. The wildlife density is insane, many times we felt like every direction we looked there was wildlife! We were only there for four nights and we had amazing sightings. I know nothing is guaranteed but we had multiple sightings of lions, cheetahs, leopards, elephants, zebra, giraffe, birdlife etc. 99% of the time we were the only vehicle at a sighting. Our guides Jacob and Jackson were incredibly knowledgeable and their ability to find the animals was so impressive. They always managed to get the best angle for us for viewing and photos while also being respectful of the wildlife. The animals were not phased at all by the vehicles. We also thoroughly enjoyed listening to our guides talk about their past experiences and their culture - my husband and I felt like they were our good friends by the end of the trip and were so sad to leave them!
The rest of the staff at the camp are so accommodating and friendly, nothing is too much trouble. The owners Jui and Nirmalya are an amazing couple who are so passionate about the wildlife and conservation. The food was amazing, every single meal we loved and everything is made at camp, even the cookies with our tea/coffee before the morning and afternoon game drives. The communal lunches and dinners were lovely, we enjoyed talking about our sightings with other like-minded people who were passionate about wildlife. Two of our nights the other guests visiting were repeat visitors returning, so that goes to show how great this place is!
The tents themselves were clean, comfortable and allowed us to hear animals of a night which was an amazing experience, most nights we heard lions roaring and one night we were woken up to an elephant munching right outside our tent, it was incredible. We had a tent that had great views of the surrounds and enjoyed watching animals grazing from our deck during the day.
Overall it was the stay of a lifetime and we will definitely be back sometime in the future.
Thank you Porini Cheetah Camp/Gamewatchers Safaris!
Best ever
From start to finish, Gamewatchers provides an incredible experience. The service and meals at the camps are wonderful and the guides are personable and very knowledagble.
The entire trip was fantastic
The entire trip was fantastic. Truly a once-in-a-lifetime. The guides were very knowledgeable and most helpful. The accommodations were excellent and the food was superb. Couldn't ask for anything better.
The best safari experience we could have asked for
The staff provided an almost personalized experience, adapting everything to our preferences. Everything was spotless, and everyone was incredibly kind and welcoming. The night safari was unforgettable, we saw animals behaving naturally in the wild, which made the experience even more special. I highly recommend traveling with this company; you definitely won't regret it. Although the camp is located in a conservancy, you can also include a visit to the Maasai Mara National Reserve for the best of both worlds.
Excellent staff and overall experience
Excellent staff and overall experience
We had a fantastic time at Porini Mara…
We had a fantastic time at Porini Mara Camp. The food was amazing and our game drives were unbelievable! We saw dozens of elephants, hundreds of zebras and wildebeast and gazelles and topi, not to mention leopards, cheetah, lions, buffalo and hippos. I know I've forgotten many animals but will live this adventure again and again as I look at the hundreds of photos I took.
A magical spot for an unforgettable holiday
We have just returned from an absolutely fantastic stay at Porini Mara Camp. The location is absolutely idyllic - surrounded entirely by nature and wildlife. Animals are free to roam through, and we were lucky enough to have various 'visitors' to the camp, including impala and baboons, but all the time were safe under the watchful eye of the staff. Just beyond the tents, we saw giraffes and elephants happily passing by, and hearing the sounds of the animals nearby at night was truly magical.
Nothing was too much trouble, and our group (of three families) was looked after fantastically well: delicious food, attentive staff, and knowledgeable drivers and spotters. The tents were incredibly comfortable and spacious, with warm showers and lovely little touches such as hot water bottles tucked into the beds in the evening, and an early morning hot chocolate and biscuit delivery service to wake up to, before the sunrise game drives.
And, WOW, what spectacular game drives! We saw so, so much! Lions, hippos, elephants, crocodiles, giraffes, warthogs, buffalo, wildebeest, antelopes galore and incredibly abundant birdlife... and much, much more. An absolute highlight was a pride of fifteen lions passing by and around our safari vehicles at sunrise, within metres of us - absolutely stunning.
The real difference with the Ol Kinyei conservancy was that, in any other part of the Mara, we would have been accompanied by masses of other safari-goers at any animal viewing. At Porini Mara, as the conservancy is so well managed, we were almost alone: I think we saw two other vehicles in the entire three day stay, so it felt like we had the wildlife to ourselves, and this made it an incredible unique and special experience. We also got to enjoy a bush-walk with knowledgeable guides pointing out tracks beneath out feet, and a night-time safari where we saw all sorts of interesting nocturnal animals, including a porcupine!
I would happily return to Porini Mara Camp without any hesitation - just looking back through my pictures makes me yearn to be there now! I would recommend it wholeheartedly.
My 8th safari
This was my first time to book with Gamewatchers but my 8th safari. I changed safari companies because I strongly believe you need to be able to drive off road in order to experience everything the animals and landscape of East Africa have to offer. Plus the camps are in private areas so there are very few vehicles. Believe me there is nothing worse than watching a pride of lions with 10-20 vehicles surrounding the area and disrupting the personal space and safety of the animals.
The guides were excellent and the lodging offers a very comfortable tenting experience. The price is very fair for the excellent service provided.
Open sided vehicles with unobstructed…
Open sided vehicles with unobstructed views of the landscape and wildlife. So well looked after by camp staff and guides. Food Im GF and DF and it wasnt an issue for the chefs to cater for me very thankful for that. Went to Nairobi tented camp Selenkay Amboseli camp Ol Pejeta and Ol Kinyei. Fabulous experience and this was my 2nd time with GWS great job everyone!!
Amazing experience from start to…
Amazing experience from start to finish, our holiday was organised well, the camps were as expected and more.
The safari experience you must choose.
From a tentative phone enquiry to the final day of the safari the attention to detail by Kristy and the Game watcher safari team was outstanding. Food, accomodation, immersive experiences you could not ask for more. Every possible minute was spent out in the jeeps looking for animals. The strong conservation coulture and determination to work with the massi people within all that the company do is to be applauded and is most impressive when you see the results. I absolutely recommend this company, Kristy and their safaris. Best ever decision I made.
Perfect Safari Experience
It was an in credible stay at the Masaai Mara Porini Camp. From start to finish everything was flawless. Not my first safari but the best.
First of all the guides, Stanley had the Masaai sixth sense for knowing where the animals were hiding. In three days we saw 4 of the big 5 multiple times (there are not rhinos in that section of Masaai Mara) plus so many others in their daily life, lionesses playing with their pups, a hunting, a beautiful leopard, a newborn gazelle just standing up, many elephants, and everyone so close. Because it's a conservancy, the park is very controlled and wasn't overwhelmed by vehicles, we were on our own many times and at at most one or two other jeeps around. That feeling of sitting alone, in the Savannah in complete stillness, with nothing around but nature, silence and life in its purest form is so humbling, powerful and completely present, an experience that stays for long after you leave. Beyond that, the camp was beautiful, thoughtfully designed, blending luxury with the magic of the bush, with great lighting and evening fireplace. The food was excellent every single day. I am gluten free and dairy free and they managed to make full dinners comparable to everyone else, dessert included. The entire crew at the camp was super attentive. Joseph, the camp manager was both professional and fun, we had interesting conversations about the challenges of traditional Masaai values in this complex digital world.
