The painting I had done came out beautiful. I gave 4 stars because the back did not have a good look because the canvass thickness did not match the frame thickness. Yes, I would recommend this company - just be sure to check thickness as mentioned above. I am surprised their rating is a 3.6. PAN

I wanted an oil painting done, a copy from a photo, a sailor at the helm. I chose Portrait Painting, because they seem to be based in the UK, according to their website. The communication with the team is excellent. However, I guess it can be complicated for them to find the right artist to get the perfect copy of a person. We had an exchange of 38 emails to get close to what I was looking for, but not as good as I thought. Only then, I understood that the artists are mostly from China, which explains some details in the painting and there will be customs fees to be paid as well. As the painting was not what I expected and because of the added customs fees, I decided to cancel my order. Within a few days, I got my down payment back. A very honest and good communication team on board this company, but unfortunately, I couldn't get the perfect copy as advertised on the website. I was offered a reduction in price too, but for me, it isn't always a question of price in terms of quality.
