High risk of car break-ins for tourists – Q-Park Brussels Centre (and Brussels garages)
Parking in downtown Brussels, especially in Q-Park garages, poses a massive risk for tourists. If you leave your car here as a tourist, there is a very high probability it will be broken into. Even though security cameras are installed and the garage is supposedly secured, criminals operate freely.
Q-Park takes zero responsibility. They refuse to implement extra security measures or even place clear warning signs for visitors. The Brussels police are fully aware of this ongoing issue but do absolutely nothing to stop it.
Furthermore, filing a police report is a bureaucratic nightmare. The police insist that you must bring the damaged car physically to the station to file a report. It does not matter if you have clear photos of the crime scene and the damage; they will refuse to help you without the actual vehicle. At the entrance, you are met by an unhelpful officer who strictly follows protocol: no car means no police report.
Q-Park’s customer service during such an emergency is scandalous. They are unreachable by phone. Q-Park Belgium deliberately blocks phone support, forcing you to use an online contact form or email. Do not expect any form of empathy, financial compensation, or contribution toward your insurance deductible for the broken windows. Truly disgraceful. Tourists, beware and avoid these parking garages!
