Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Considering 674 reviews, most reviewers were somewhat happy with their experience overall. Many customers find the platform easy to use for quick projects and prototyping, appreciating its ability to rapidly build basic applications and websites. Reviewers highlight the speed and integrated workflow, noting that it allows them to turn ideas into working code quickly without extensive setup. The AI assistance is often praised for making coding accessible and empowering, enabling users to create complex web apps and designs that they might not have been able to otherwise. However, a significant number of people express dissatisfaction with the pricing and billing transparency, reporting unexpected and excessive charges that accumulate automatically without clear warnings or real-time credit usage indicators. Customers often feel that the platform's AI agents consume credits rapidly, sometimes due to repeated errors or unnecessary operations, leading to high costs for minor adjustments. There are also concerns about the AI's performance with more complex projects, where it can make errors and slow down development, and the lack of reliable spending limits.

These bunch of idiots have such agents…

"Avoid if you value your time and budget. My experience with Replit has been a cycle of 'fixing' one bug only to have another immediately appear. It feels like the platform lacks stability, and as a paying user, it’s frustrating to deal with constant regressions. I cannot recommend this for professional workflows."

A completely terrible experience and

A completely terrible experience and, frankly, a waste of money.

Replit repeatedly makes the same mistakes, burns through credits, and fails to deliver stable results. After dozens of errors, crashes, and repeated issues, I requested a refund for the credits wasted due to their platform’s failures — and they rejected it.

This is not just frustrating; it feels like a money trap. You end up paying for the platform’s mistakes while trying to fix problems it creates over and over again.

I strongly recommend staying away from Replit, especially if you are working on anything serious, time-sensitive, or production-related.

Just buy claude code..

Just buy claude code... cheaper, more powerfull and unlimited. Replit is very expensive for website generation, credits are used very very fast. And customer support is really really bad...

I tried for 2 months and I really don't recommend this product.

Just buy claude code, way better.

DON'T DO IT

DON'T DO IT. It is the most expensive, frustrating, appallingly time wasting nonsense I have ever utilised in over 20 years. It makes changes to content without authorisation and breaks constantly. It cannot be taken seriously. My advice, stay well away.

I've use Replit agent for about 6 months. Charges vary, are inconsistent, not relative to the work/time spent

I've usI've use Replit agent for about 6 months to develop my website, promo material and videos. Ive crosse checked prompt with ChatGPT/Grok BEFORE I promo the agent because it does not follow instructions. I arm waves, adds its own BS interpretations, additions and solutions that were never asked for. This alone cost Sht loads of money to correct even when giving VERY constrained commands. Don’t bother requesting any form of compensation from Replit. No chance from the ready bunch.

Charges vary, are inconsistent, not relative to the work/time spent and are, quite frankly, a rip off. I will be migrating my IP off of Replit and going elsewhere.e Replit agent for about 6 mnths.

$1,982 charged in 24 days on an app that isn't even live — avoid

I was charged $1,982.37 by Replit in 24 days as a solo developer building an app that has not launched yet. No live users. No customer traffic. Just me, coding.
The charges came from their AI Agent, which bills per sub-operation without showing you a cost estimate before it runs. One development session can silently trigger dozens of billable operations. By the time you see the damage, it's already done.
The worst part: when I tried to set a spending cap to stop further charges, Replit's own AI support tool could not find where the feature is located. That's because it has been removed from the platform. There is no way to put a hard limit on what they can charge you.
This is not a billing "quirk." This is a system designed to extract maximum charges before the user realizes what is happening. I have the usage screenshot showing $1,982.37 for a single user account with zero live traffic.
I have escalated to my bank and filed complaints with consumer protection agencies. Do not put your credit card into this platform without understanding that you have no control over what they will charge you.

Totally unreliable and extremely…

Totally unreliable and extremely costly. The bigger the project becomes, the longer it takes for it to fix and resolve issues. It keeps creating problems on its own. Now, with two apps, I have ended up giving up because it couldn't fix basic problems. Stay the hell away!

I definitely do not recommend…

I definitely do not recommend purchasing the upgraded plan. It was going okay, then, without any notification that my credits had been used up, it started using tokens automatically without my consent. It overcharged me an extra $50 for a broken system it never fixed, not to mention it made the exact same mistake 7 times. Even when told it was making mistakes, it ignored me and did things unprompted. I was working on making a Discord bot but wanted to test it using the cloud Replit uses. First, unprompted, it started packaging the system for deployment for cPanel. I told it we were testing the bot first. It said sorry. The first time, it made it work on cPanel. When I said it wasn't working, it then made the same mistake as well as packaged a broken script for cPanel. This bot and how it operates is designed to suck out maximum credit, and by the time you realize it's using credits without your consent, it's too late. You can be $50 to $150 overcharged for something you did not agree to!

Zero balance in account, after $320 USD deposited.

I deposited around $320 USD in total, and additionally paid around 18% GST tax (approximately $57 USD extra).

However, now I can see a zero balance in my account credits. I really do not understand what the issue is about?

My account is frozen, the credits are missing, and even after making another $100 USD payment, no credits were added to the account.

I purchased around $320 USD credits.
So technically, my total credits should be around:

$320 USD - $169 USD used = approximately $151 USD remaining balance.

I am completely frustrated and confused about what is happening with my billing and account balance.

Could you please ask the billing team to urgently review my account, payments, and credit history?

I have waited for the last 2 days for an email response, but the issue is still not resolved. I have not received any answer or support from your team.

Replit Support Ticket #417489
(This is now the 10th day, and I still have not received any response from the support team. I have not received any assistance, and my account remains frozen.)

Simple money grab app.

Simple money grab app.
You pay and like 5 minutes later your content is used and you need to pay more. The Maschine itself is not smart but I think it’s programmed like that cause „money“

The tool repeats its own mistakes and tends to do the exact opposite of what you tell it to do … nah don’t use that crap

My first month I spent $360 and the…

My first month I spent $360 and the reason I did that is the agents that I was working with. I followed all the rules I. Have an agent and an assistant. The assistant is great. You talk to the assistant and they don’t do any coding. It cost less money so I talked to the assistant. I explained exactly what I want. I say don’t do anything else. Just do what I’m asking. Don’t work with any other code just work on this thing and then they go in and do whatever they want and I’ve created a really complex app and when they do whatever they want and they just start writing code. It screws up everything so that was a nightmare so I finally got that worked out with 300 something dollars worth of money then the next month the first two agents I got were excellent worked out great had great communication did everything we needed to do then I got one that decided it wasn’t gonna follow any of my instructions even though I gave it pictures simple instructions asked do you understand and answered yes and then it would do completely different what I was supposed to do that now is $275 so this is my first two months just keep in mind if you’re trying to do something complex it’s not gonna happen if you want to just build a little simple little app yeah you could probably do that in 30 minutes but you know when you’re doing something that you have to explain what you’re doing and they don’t get a concept even when they say yes they do I understand and you say show me what you’re gonna do and they show you and then you try to tell them no not this way. It’s just a joke. It’s a great little app for somebody who wants to just play around, but besides that it sucks. And the staff has a lot of logical explanation. It’s always the same thing while we can’t guarantee what the agents gonna do you know they if so, I relate to that that’s something that that’s very true. It’s just my expectations if I spent the time and just did what was told to me that was the way to do it where I communicated first to save the money cause it’s a lot cheaper and then have the code written but then you go to the agent and it just writes whatever he wants sometimes there’s good ones and there’s bad ones but the bad ones can destroy your whole app.

Expensive, zero-results, no-support, pitiful customer service

Reached out to support for known ongoing issues with the Replit agent behavior in a timely manner. Not provided meaningful support when issues were fresh and requested at least twice. Spent numerous credits on wasteful agent behavior (self-acknowledged). have a $500 unused credit pack - which Replit is unwilling to refund despite these issues and documented proof. I have requested elevated support and executive/management-level review only to be ignored. I will not be using Replit again, nor recommending it. I was forced to find alternatives for my already started project and have since found far better and cheaper alternatives. Replit needs to work on support, service, and the replit agent programming, and then they have a chance at being a successful company that lasts, but to alienate the customer, essentially gouging them of funds for no meaningful outcome and then providing no meaningful support and then sloughing it off and refusing to provide unused credit packs ($500) after having no choice but to cancel the subscription. It's pitiful practice. Needless to say, I could not be more disappointed.

I had a very bad experience with this platform. I subscribed once, but I was never able to build any useful applications. Despite asking multiple times to cancel my subscription and stop all my projects, they continue charging me around $100 repeatedly without clear explanation.

I clearly requested cancellation and no longer want to use their service, but the charges keep coming. This situation has caused me stress, anxiety, and unnecessary financial loss.

Their subscription and cancellation system is unclear and very difficult to understand. In my opinion, this feels extremely misleading and close to direct scamming.

I do not recommend this platform based on my experience.

Replit Charged Me $50+ Repeatedly Despite $20/Month Promise – Extremely Deceptive Billingting a…

I signed up for Replit expecting a straightforward $20/month subscription as advertised. Instead, while actively developing my app, the platform repeatedly charged $50+ from my account every 30 to 60 minutes. These extra charges triggered automatically just for normal development work — even minor tasks like migrating a database.

I am already out hundreds of dollars, at least $350 and counting, and I am not even 10% into shipping my app. This is far worse than Emergent. At least Emergent charged upfront and capped their recurring fees during development at $20 every hour or so. With Replit, the billing felt predatory — it grazed my account constantly as I worked.

I left Emergent due to dissatisfaction, only to fall into an even worse trap with Replit. The $20/month plan is highly misleading when normal usage results in massive surprise charges.

Strong recommendation: Save your money. Skip these app-building platforms. Pay for a $200/month Claude subscription and build your apps locally in VS Code using Claude Opus. It’s far more honest, transparent, and cost-effective.

Replit needs to fix their billing practices immediately. This experience was frustrating and expensive.
