Worse experience in the last 50years of…
Worse experience in the last 50years of buying vehicles, went for deal ,said we don't like doing Aion V deals ,go for hp deal not up front , said no we want up front paid deposit. Left garage, phone call knocked back, they pushed hp payment way said company didn't want to make me poor, after proved deposit come from and prove how we can make final payment.
So insist hp ask hp interest over the phone ,no sense so drove back up garage with pocket full of money, ask 3 times interest charges , because Aion was doing 2.9% and no answer, kept saying, information not coming through,by that time the car was in my name and regestard, manager kept saying your paying it of in two years, you got the money in your hand .
When the welcome pack came in 13.4% on £23.224 I'm paying £10.000 interest , that's 25 %of the car ,we have complained to Aion , but it the Garage who never stuck to the letter of the law and defently not the spirit.
He knows I would not pay 13.4% so never answered any questions and called me a liar , saying he told me all the figures in black and white, so I'm over the moon with the car , the sales men, even the service department, but definitely not the manager,I do hope a director reads this and we can sit down and talk like gentlemen I even said to Aion , them.tbe garage and us sit down and talk because, do not like been called a liar and I do have a card up my sleeve if we all was in the room together. We have ask the manager to send us a final letter we aren't doing out for the financial Ombudsman which he seams to be a bit reluctant, said we deal with them direct ,we yes once we put the letter in , not happy been mislead, we have been honest all along , all they wanted to do is sell the first car
Amazing experience dealing with Georgia…
Amazing experience dealing with Georgia at Richard Hardie Ashington, these guys don't get the credit they deserve with these bad reviews. They have a new manager who is brilliant and the whole process was seamless. Drove my new car away last week, Georgia has called twice to make sure I was ok with the controls and if I had any questions, and Hannah the manager called to make sure everything was ok with how my experience was too!
Don't believe what you read online for these guys, I had a 10/10 experience and wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

Great service from the Fiat team at Richard Hardie Silverlink today. My daughter’s Fiat 500 was booked in for a service and MOT. Staff were friendly, professional and kept me informed on the service and work required; also I was very happy with cost vs other non-Fiat dealers, they were very competitive. I would highly recommend 👏👏👏

I bought a 2020 MG ZS from Richard…
I bought a 2020 MG ZS from Richard Hardie Ashington through sales person G in May 2026. I had received a call from a finance broker who approved finance for a new car. I was told I had to get it all signed off then could go and collect the car. I had not even seen it yet! I then called my current car finance before collecting the new car only to find out the previous settlement value they had given me was wrong and I need to pay £1017 for it so I called Richard Hardie Ashington and was put onto the sales person G to cancel the sale. I was then called by the Sales Manager H who said they would pay me a cash back payment to pay off my old car! I was astounded and said I could only take the new car if I got the cash back. G then said it is paid within 7- 10 working days so I picked up the car on Friday 15 May. It had a squeaky clutch and needed a boot cover which she sorted on the Monday directly after the Friday I collected the car, albeit with no clips for it to actually work which she just forgot to tell me or fix. Another employee told me there are boxes of these lying about so G just didn't care to fix it properly. I asked G about the manufacturer's warranty, she put me onto someone else who printed it, it showed only 3 services in 5 years so no full service history as I was told. I then emailed H who sent me the full history which showed the last service was done May 2026, previous service March 2025 so 14 months later. Warranty states all services must be done within 12 months to be valid so I had to query this yet again! H emailed back saying there is no 14 month gap??! Mar 25 to May 26 is 14 months, I can count. I explained that I was currently sitting with a car I had bought from another dealer and it had broken the day after getting it and the so called manufacturers warranty was a lie so I was checking to ensure the manufacturer's warranty the car had been sold with was valid. She then said they validate the warranties as they are a MG dealership. So I guess the 14 months between the last 2 services does not matter then? It has not been clarified by H to date, 3 weeks later.
After 24 days of no cashback arriving, I have called and emailed, not once shouted or sworn and have been ignored by H for days between emails, had the phone put down in my ear by G and still no answers about my cash back which I told them when I called to cancel the car purchase and they offered the cash back that I had to pay my old car by 1 June and was told it takes 7-10 working days, plenty of time! I was later told that because I took the car back to get the car boot cover and clutch sorted, it was my fault the cash back was late. This was done the following working day and G physically took my file off her desk and placed it in the front office and said that is done now the cash back can be paid so there was zero delay caused by me never mind the fact they sold me a half dirty car with no boot cover or clips and a squeaky clutch! The amount of income lost while trying to sort this and having to pay storage for my old car is ridiculous! I now sit with 2 cars on finance as a single, unpartnered mother and will have my credit score ruined as I cannot pay for both. I am beyond words for Sales staff of any company that act in this way! After calling back, J answered and what a lovely person. He listened to my story, yet told me the staff have no way of knowing how long it takes because the Directors deal with the payment authorisations. Had G said this - I would never have bought the car! I have resorted to emailing the owner this morning but still no response. As a 55 year old woman, I am shocked, feel totally bullied and feel I was promised a cash back to con me into a sale because I have not been told whether the cash back will even materialise or not and H has ignored answering this question along with trying to tell me about March 2025 to May 2026 not being 14 months between services! I have been in sales for 30 years and never in my wildest dreams would I think a company can get away with this kind of behaviour! I wish I had read all the negative reviews on Trustpilot before going there!
Update: No replies to emails and called in to be told by another sales person that their legal team will contact me so obviously no cash back is coming and im now stuck with 2 cars. I am beyond shocked.

Would seriously get rid of the sales manager at Silverlink, knowingly bringing back fraudulent people back!

Was Mis sold a car which had a serious…
Was Mis sold a car Range Rover which had a serious engine fault before sale as i found previous auction documents in the glove box from the previous owner, after the car broke down within 4 month with a serious fault this come light. Richard Hardie took my car off me and had it 9 months fixing it promising my cars return, this is a very crafty trick to lower my consumer rights in rejecting the car they are very smart, after getting my car back after 9 month it broke within 6 weeks same fault the car would stop dead whilst driving, independent inspector from DEKRA Peter Bradley come and inspected my car he failed to acknowledge the car had a full engine strip despite there was job cards to support this instead he done a poor report to suggest no one would no when the fault occurred as lets face it the computer does not log a date or time the fault develops so the loop holes are there against the customer, the inspector is contracted by them never accept to be reviewed by there contractors its bias, consumer rights are non existent its just a black hole its just rich companies fighting 1 poor consumer and guess who wins they have no interest in putting anything right or being fair or decent, look up DEKRA reviews also to get the idea of the corruption, i bought a car from a garage FOR consumer protection i may aswel of bought it from the local clown. Car cost 16k fixing it has cost well over 10k. i can not return the car as im over my time limit / or trade the car as despite all this on paper a range rover is worth about 4k due to the length of time Richard Hardie kept it and depreciated it for me and did not fix it correctly, range rover are a VERY complicated cars only range rover specialists have a decent chance to fixing it, in realising this majority of local garages even rejected entertaining fixing a range rover , plus i would have been selling it on faulty being valued faulty the lost sleep or care sharing working around this has been soul distroying. Raised it with the ombudsman a non English motor investigator after i went private to a specialist to fix the car i expected the case to be a slam dunk in being compensated however English is not my investigators first language he also has limited mechanical qualifications to put 2 & 2 together. and my case has sat on his lap 1 year unresolved. consumer law is it should have been rejected at 6 month however how can i reject a car Richard Hardie had if i had to give them 1 chance to put things correct its a catch 22. Richard Hardie knows the loop holes on consumer rights aswel as not having a complaint department the workers just rotate between sites, reception is always told to tell you there not in, they only want to help selling cars no after care. DO NOT BUY FROM RICHARD HARDIE
Two recent great experiences
Two recent great experiences through Kim on the reception desk at Richard Hardie Silverlink.
Very quick booking system for the service. Friendly and professional greeting on arrival, The fiat was booked in and a comprehension report provided.
A similar friendly atmosphere to discuss having the timing chain replaced with the offer of a courtesy car. The job was done quicker than estimated and I was very pleased with the overall experience. A very good experience undertaken in very competent and professional manner
I’ve been looking forward to writing this review with relish.
I’ve been looking forward to writing this review so that anyone thinking of purchasing a vehicle from this company may have a rethink.
My wife and I have purchased over a period of 6 years 5 vehicles from Hardie’s. In July 2024 we, on the advice of a salesman we part exchanged our 1 year old MG HS for a new Peugeot 3008 on the advice given that MGs are a Friday afternoon car.
Because Hardie’s didn’t do what they were supposed to do, 19 point service, refitting of dash cams and not supplying a spare key.it cost us a total of £249.I took the vehicle to another dealer to do the 19 point service. I had reason to contact the Automobile Ombudsman because of Hardie’s attitude who took until December 2025 to settle my complaint. This wasn’t their fault for constant delays but Hardie’s in refusing to engage with the Ombudsman. The outcome was Hardie’s had to issue an apology for their unprofessional service. They haven’t done that and I’m not expecting them to as it shows their arrogance and ignorance in that once they have your money you can get lost.
Here’s why I’m smiling in writing this. We’re upgrading our car this month to the tune of £70,00. Business that would have gone to Hardie’s. Our daughter, who’s purchased 3 vehicles from Hardie’s in the past is part exchanging her car as is her husband for 2 new ones to the cost of £90,000. They would have normally went to Hardie’s. Then 2 work colleagues of my wife had enquired about her experience with the MG Hs as they were considered purchasing new vehicles at a cost of around £40,00 each from Hardie’s. On my wife’s advice they decided against purchasing from Hardie’s and have gone elsewhere.
So for the sake of Richard Hardie refusing to compensate me £249 for work they said they’d done but hadn’t. They have lost approximately £240,000 of business and that’s more satisfying than an apology or refund and that is satisfying.
Never step foot here.
Absolutely shocking service since the moment the car was picked up. Miss sold the car and told full service history, which would enable 7 year warranty. When querying proof of service history constant lies given until they finally admit this isn’t the case and is a miss sell. After collecting the car noticed missing boot-shelf, then provided boot-shelf from another car that does not fit. Rear wheel trim damaged and hanging off along with multiple body work issues. Faulty entertainment screen, to which I was told was my own fault for using a non branded cable (it wasn’t, and was resolved by replacing screen months later). Since getting this car 18 months ago I have been given a courtesy car twice due to issues, I have never experienced such a faulty car in all my years. Non existent after sales service and will only help if they are getting money out of you. Will ensure nobody I know ever steps foot here.
After sales service non existent
After sales service non existent, just fob you off. Bought a fifteen month old car, told it had a seven year warranty. However the first service had been done after the allowed time to keep it in warranty. Car had one owner, Richard Hardie, no excuse for this to happen but no help from them. Other things wrong with the car, in my opinion total rip off merchants. Wouldn't go near them again, Richard Hardie Ashington.
Customer Care & After Sales Service
Like westerns ? these cowboys are the ones for you! I bought a car from them in May, been back to the garage several times, still attending in July ! with different faults. Unfortunately RH do not seem to have grasped the concept of customer service and and definitely do not understand what customer care is. I have had several courtesy cars which could have down with a clean upprior to issue. Service department is a bit too laid back.
Do not even consider writing a letter voicing your complaint ( which was suggested I do by sales) as they will not reply and will just ignore them !
As for Darren, the stereotype car salesman, once he has sold the car that is his commitment completed, and does not want to know any more about it. My advice is think twice about going to this garage !!

3 time came out worse with gear box trouble service reception flung key s at me
Sales manager very rude and nasty courtesy cars like skips they don’t wash or clean their cars
Avoid buying from this garage in ashington
Never ever would I deal with again
Never ever would I deal with again! Horrendous service from start to finish, quick enough to take your money but then forget it. Stay well clear from this firm
Absolutely fantastic customer services from an exceptional salesman !!
Absolutely fantastic customer service from salesman Jonny Sibbet at the Richard Hardie silverlink branch. Myself a loyal customer of Richard Hardie having previously bought 4 MG cars here. His complete dedication to satisfying my every request upon the used vehicle I bought was without doubt superb.
He even stayed back after work one night to wash and prepare my blue Peugeot Partner MPV ready for collection!!
That is absolutely fantastic service!!
He really is one of the best car salesman I’ve ever dealt with and I’ve dealt with many over the years buying cars and being in the motor trade personally.
So if you want fantastic customer service, a vast knowledge of cars and somebody who really does care about his customers going above and beyond to satisfy their needs and wants then get yourself over to Richard Hardie silverlink branch and ask for Jonny!!
Steer clear of this unprofessional outfit.
We made a serious enquiry on a used BMW 4.30i. First salesperson absolutely inept, couldn't\wouldn't answer questions, without continual referral to Manager. All sort of excuses and promises made not really to materialise.
Then spoke to Assistant Manager who was at least more personable, but ultimately still no full answers.
Decided to indeed visit this garage with an 160 miles round trip and after confirming with assistant manager. But, just to make sure telephoned to confirm, no answer throughout a full day.
This particular vehicle has a chequered past and deserved clarification, to which nobody but nobody was prepared to stick their neck out on a grossly overpriced, poorly documented car. Also misrepresentation inasmuch that advertised with 2 keys but only 1, resulting in a bill to the purchaser of £400.
Please, consider this bad review with others, but ultimately steer well clear of this unprofessional outfit.
Appalling service from Richard Hardie Silverlink…
Used the service department of Richard Hardie MG at Silverlink for 3 year service and four tyre replacement. Appalling service. Booked the tyres they advised me to buy 5 days before service. They rang me on the day of the service to say they had ordered the wrong tyres and the replacements would £150 more than we had agreed. No apology given. When they had finished service and tyre replacement and I tried to pay by card they informed me that their ‘internet was down and I would have to wait until it came back on’. I asked them how long would that be and they said ‘as long as it takes’, when I said I have a disabled wife at home and needed to leave they refused to release my car to me despite my asking them to send me an invoice which I would pay online on receipt.
Dreadful, dreadful, dreadful. I would strongly recommend you use another dealership for your car.

Purchased a lease car 3 years ago on a 4 year contract from the Sunderland branch. Service due and showroom has moved to silverlink. Paid for tunnel from Sunderland- the female member of staff on desk was polite. Car was ready after 2 hours - not bad at all. However returned to collect car which was unwashed . When i asked why the guy said he didn't want me ‘waiting around’- sorry. Small thing but all part of customer service. I know where i wont be going next year. Thanks for nothing.
