Horrible experience

Horrible experience. The phone numbers listed on the internet are all invalid, and the police on the phone are so freaking rude. One woman was like, "what's your problem?" Absolutely insufferable! These are supposed to be our protectors? You're clearly miserable and hate your job, so why don't you just quit! In an emergency, I'd rather die than phone up these people, sorry!

WarrA Crime‑Fighting Warrior Protecting Hartswaterant Officer Phetoe of Hartswater…

Warrant Officer Phetoe of Hartswater Police Station is more than just a man in uniform – he is a true crime‑fighting warrior. His dedication and commitment to protecting the community stand out in every task he takes on. From driving drugs off our streets, to tackling livestock theft that hurts hardworking farmers, to stopping robberies that threaten local businesses, his impact is felt everywhere.

There are many angels in blue, but Phetoe has risen above his peers. He carries the weight of responsibility with courage, and he does it not for recognition, but because he believes in justice and safety for all. His work is not just outstanding – it is inspiring. He reminds us that one determined officer can make a difference, and that behind every badge is a heart that beats for the people.

Hartswater is safer, stronger, and prouder because of him.

Phone number doesn’t exist

Tried phoning the Goodwood police station to report illegal activity just to get “The number have dialed does not exist. “. How can a police station have a number that doesn’t exist. Even when Googling it you get the same number.

Milnerton SAPS is winning

Milnerton SAPS in Cape Town was absolutely amazing. I am a South African who lives abroad. I had an issue in Cape Town. Within 24 hours, Colonel Africa had it sorted. Once, and, for good. Officer Noni was incredibly professional and helpful over the phone. Even though the signal was not great on an international call. I went to visit the station. I was impressed. In England I cannot even talk to a police officer. All the stations are being closed. Where I live, the station has never ever been open to public. All you get is a yellow phone outside to call emergency, or non emergency. Calling emergency 999, don't have much hope in England.
After 14 years in England, after my first 30 in South Africa. My personal expe is that South African Police are doing far better than British police. I feel safer here now, than I did when I left almost 15 years ago.
I feel less safe in England than I have ever felt.
SAPS, you have many very good officers. I did not see laziness at Milnerton SAPS. I saw so many people in line, and the line moved fast. All staff were working, helping. Working together and helping each other, to help each and every person who was there needing them. From a 'issues with neighbour' to the most heinous. Each was being seen privately, listened to, understood, helped. Fast, effective. Very friendly.
Every single person inside that station was incredibly friendly.
Keep going Milnerton SAPS you are leading the way and setting examples all police to follow.

Gross Misconduct from Multiple Gauteng SAPS Stations

Wierdabrug,Sandton, Sandringham, Bramley and Alexandra SAPS all will refuse to open a docket and refused to investigate cases.
Was victim to highjacking and kidnapping on 31 August, due to all listed SAPS stations citing jurisdiction as reason for refusal it took 48 hours to have the case registered. From the 02 September until 15 November there has been no investigation whatsoever, no contact and all attempt by the complainant to contact and get followed up are replies to with "we will get back to you".
SAPS Complaints department is equally inept and does not investigate, along with IPID, the SAHRC and the Public Protectors office.
Victims of crime should treat the fight for justice as a formality, not a right. There is no justice in RSA because the state is wholly incompetent and employed officers, clerks and prosecutors who are willfully negligent.

Brooklyn Police Station

Brooklyn Police Station, Pretoria must be the worst station in Pretoria with very little motivation to get up out of their chairs and help the public. They are too busy with their school kids behind the counter to pay attention to the public walking in needing help. Sg. Mopoyane was by far the rudest of them all. Please resign if you don’t want to serve the people of South Africa.

We were at the SAPS in Umzinto on…

We were at the SAPS in Umzinto on Tuesday 06 May 2025. We were attented by Constable TP Ncokwana. She assisted us with what we were there to do and directed us to the right office, she was very humble, polite and very friendly. When we were done and went back to the customer service room, where she was she was assisting an elderly man, and i over heard her say to the man and I quote" you guys are the reason we wake up in the mornings to come and help you" wow I was so touched, by her humbleness and the way she does her job with passion. We'll done sisi keep it up. It's great to see a woman in Blue uniform doing what you do.

An Unsung Hero in SAPS

It’s very refreshing but unfortunately just as rare to walk into a South African Police Station and encounter competence, professionalism and concern. That happened to me when I met Captain Adams of the Goodwood SAPS. I had reported a hit and run of my automobile last week, and was following-up on this report. This encounter reinstating my faith no only in the police service, but also humanity.

Thank you so much🙏🏽

I experienced GBV & decided to call 10111 after 2 days of the encounter, the lady asked me why I waited so long & hung up on me. There is no justice in this rubbish country & being someone who lives here without money, you're basically nothing.

You'll die before you're helped because they see citizens as burdens, they like the thought of having a job but get scared when it's time to do the job. It's full of cowards who love money, you can't trust a police officer because they will save themselves before you

The service around SAPCC sucks

The service around SAPCC sucks!

A South African Police Clearance Certificate.

If you are requesting this from abroad you have to pay R150 non-refundable fee. You have to courier the documents to them and although you provide them with an email address and contact number they don't confirm receipt nor do they keep you updated on progress. I managed to call on the 20th March 2021 to be told to call back on 17th June. When asked why they cant email me they said they don't do that.
I called +27 (0) 12 393 3928 on the 17th, 18th and 21st various times of the day up to 6 times per day and guess what no answer.

I then called the complaints number and guess what not even the complaints number gets answered.

I emailed both on ComplaintsNodalPoint and crc-nameclear no reply not even an automated one.
I even called the Head Office number Tel: +27 (0) 12 393 1000 no answer.
I am left not knowing what happened to my application and have lost R150 let alone the cost of going for fingerprints and courier fees.
This is shocking service from a government run department.
The tax payers money goes to waste in this country.
Come on SAP up your game and make SA proud.

How to get help from SAPS for harassment

This is the average rating for two experiences with SAPS. My first was dismal (1 star for sure) but my most recent went well off the charts - hence the 4 star average. Here's a tip to anyone that has to deal with the police in connection with harassment: don't go to the community service centre and expect them to open a case for you, call and make an appointment to see the head of detectives and explain the situation. Thats what I did after months of trying to open a case, and Col Pillay got the ball rolling after a 30 minute meeting. The more people who report harassment the better because thhe police will finally take notice of how big a problem it is
