Hi there, I contacted to SEF representative to get an appointment to speak about "Contagem do tempo" for my case of obtaining citizenship. The representative was extremely rude and even shouted at me without any reason (I asked to repeat the letter in the email address she was dictating to me). I spoke politely and kindly to her. I am determined to get to know this representative's name as per her Portuguese accent she is also Slavic like me. She never presented herself either. I am a legal citizen of Portugal, I love and respect the country, I speak the language and I pay taxes. I am not deserving this kind of attitude. I will find out the name of this person so that this kind of attitude should be avoided and addressed accordingly in future cases.

Disappointing that SEF got my address wrong on my details and that their system isn't very environmentally friendly, requiring me to fly to Lisbon (from Maderia) rather than being able to route my residency card to their SEF office in Madeira.

Also disappointing that there's still this reliance on these little bits of plastic in the first place when blockchain technology has existed for 15 years now.

SEF is my worst nightmare I have ever had. This is not acceptable for a european country which claims to be developed. Its a black spot in the countries public sector, as well as Portugal reputation. I hope this stops.

I wonder if they break the law. Have payment phones to "book appointment" without offering appointments. Migration to Portugal for Non-EU nationals has collapsed. I am an EU citizen, but unable to obtain or request even residence permit for my partner. It will not take long before I have to move out so my partner will not be illegal here, and this will cost you two tax payers that are young.
