Loved my solar kettle so much I bought a second one!
I ordered a solar kettle from Select Solar - given the amount of tea I drink, and the increasing energy prices, I thought it was worth a try!
I must confess I was a little sceptical about whether it would work, but it does! You do need sunshine - although on-and-off sun will still mean the water is at least a little warmed (and then you can finish it off in the kettle - but some energy saved at least), but it doesn't have to be a hot day. The other day I got a rolling boil! That was with putting it out at 8am, and using it at 2pm, but I drink so much tea that I just fill it and automatically put it out, and if I'm making tea, I check if it's ready.
Just ordered another one so that I can make a full pot of tea's worth in one go.
(Delivery - they were very helpful. I had some issues with the website, so rang, and they processed it immediately. It arrived packaged very securely so that it was not damaged - although it seems pretty sturdy.)
