Waste of money truth about UoS

Waste of money to be honest I came here thinking I would learn a lot make friends and live the uni lifestyle but that is not what the truth is,the student accommodation are over priced leaving you with little to nothing money wise, unless you have parents or family to pay for your existence it is impossible, the accommodation also pick and choose when you can have your heating on and what you use your wifi on, the education is basically self taught with only around four-six lessons per week which were really boring and felt like information was just thrown at you, you’d think for 20 odd grand in accommodation fees and educational fees you’d learn something, deadlines are tight& if you have any sort of learning difficulties good look knowing when your exams are, there was times I had no idea I had an exam even though I was there every week, food in the student union & village stores are completely over priced. Unless you have family to help you or a scholarship please look at your finances before joining, university isn’t for everyone it is still a luxury and unfortunately I have chosen to leave after the first year even tho I am predicted to pass, I also should mention I made no friends at all even though I tried. Sheffield University SU backing Russia

As a current University of Sheffield student from eastern Europe I approached the Student Union to enquire about supporting the people of The Ukraine. To my complete shock, horror and dismay the Student Union told me that the Student Union (SU) is backing Russia, not Ukraine. When I pointed out that the international media, and Russian dissidents, as well as Ukranians are reporting that Russian troops are committing war crimes against Ukranian civilians, the Student Union rep dismissed these as "western capitalist lies." When I asked how the Student Union (SU) could possible support Russia, as the aggressor and commiter of war crimes, these facts were denied. The SU rep then said the SU is supporting Russia as "the birthplace of socialism/communism [historically and geographically incorrect as it originated with Marx in Germany]."
To make matters worse, the SU rep then started to attack Zelensky as a "Zionist western puppet." It was clear at this point that the SU rep was expressing anti-Semitism. When I challenged this unacceptable, repugnant anti-Jewish sentiment, stating I would report this racism, I was threatened that if I did I would not succeed in my studies at Sheffield Uni. The SU rep also added that no-one at Sheffield Uni would care and do anything about anti-Semitism anyway. This confirmed my belief that Sheffield Uni is intitutionally anti-Semitic.
The SU rep also bragged that the SU would continue to illegally boycott companies like Veolia and HP that "do business with Zionists." When I pointed out that boycotts by an organisation which are contrary to UK government policy are unlawful, they just laughed and said "let the Tories try and stop us."
This highly adverse experience with the SU made me realise just how racist, bigoted and prejudiced the University of Sheffield and its SU really are. This is immensely disturbing and very sad. It needs external investigation, especially the illegal boycotting.

The University of Sheffield is bigoted

The University of Sheffield is a far left organisation. It has a long-term fundamental problem with religion, primarily Christianity. It has made public derogatory remarks about the late Mother Teresa. It is anti-Semitic, being hostile to Jewish students and pro-Israel organisations and inidviduals. It's Student Union has run unlawful boycotts against Pro-Israeli companies. It is run by narrow-minded, leftist bigots. It has allowed pro-democracy Hong Kong students to be openly harassed, intimidated and threatened by Chinese Communist government agents posing as Sheffield University students. Investigation by government is desperately required.

Great university

Had a fantastic time studying here.

The quality of education, support and student life were great.

Also, the students' union is amazing!
