We purchased a shed for a…

We purchased a shed for a primary/nursery school and one of the contributing factors, due to safety factors, was the shed came with Acrylic windows. The shed was delivered with "glass" windows which are totally unsuitable. I contacted Shire and was told the window spec was changed in January 2026 but the assembly leaflet clearly states the windows are Acrylic. The contact person at Shire informed me that she would check with their warehouse staff to see if they had any Acrylic left over, she got back to me to inform me they had nothing in the warehouse. So now we sit with a shed which we cannot use without the further expense of purchasing 6 Acrylic window panes. If we were made aware of the change before we purchased the shed we would have gone to a different supplier.

Playhouse

I actually ordered the playhouse via 'The Range' and I'll be honest I had awful service. My order was processing for almost 3 weeks. After chasing the order with the range and getting absolutely nowhere I decided to go straight to the supplier, shire garden buildings. They solved my issue in less than 3 hours! Got me a delivery spot secured in that time too. The customer service I recieved was 10/10.

The delivery was excellent too. Came within the time slot we were given and the gentleman who delivered was very friendly.

I would highly rate this company!

Promised date on the advertisement wrong by more than a month!

Ordered a shed via Robert Dyas on the basis of delivery 7 May, confirmed on the acknowledgement and on the receipt. Received an email saying "This is not a scam email" that I ignored as being suspicious; and phoned Dyas who confirmed 7 May again. Subsequently learned from Shire the earliest delivery would be mid-June, and when I phoned I was rather curtly told Robert Dyas doesn't have access to Shire's calendar! Called Dyas again who apologised, explaining they depend on what Shire tells them, and they escalated my enquiry so that earliest date brought forward to 11 June, but still more than a month later than advertised.
I cancelled and bought instead from another supplier on 4 May, delivering 12 May.
I had intended to wait until after that delivery before responding to Shire's request for my opinion; but as they are chasing me for it, here it is.
I don't blame Robert Dyas but be wary. Ordering Shire's shed has wasted much of my time on the phone.

The shed is not what I expected

The shed is not what I expected. The build quality is horrendous, the OSB supplied is super thin, the boards aren't cut square, nor are the doors built right. Not square nor long enough. Missing screws ie not enough for the 12 x 6 shed to be built. The panels that came I had to adjust but moving rails because of poor workmanship. The felt is ment to be premium it's pretty crap. Bought thicker felt and as for the dims on the website don't even come close to what's supplied. Overall BUT ELSEWHERE!!!!!!
