stockton showcase cinema underage children in 15 Cert movie
Went to stockton showcase cinema after booking tickets for The Oddossy 6.40 showing online only to find our booked seats taken up by a bunch of underage children and there parent mother went to the reception area to seek help and advice and was told that by a guy checking tickets that this was totally impossible despite what had happened as it was a 15 certificate movie and that I was seeing things, the ticket guy advizing and insisting I was wrong and incorrect with a very bad attitude, quite unhelpful and ignorent to to the situation that was explained very clearly, what is the point in booking tickets only to find your seats taken by underage children with unhelpful staff? Bad experience all round avoid Stockton showcase cinema ....
Really poor to only have self service on during school holidays.
Just arrived at the Showcase Liverpool and only self service was available. The self service machine wouldn't accept my Insider card so I was told to join the food queue. I was in the queue moving nowhere for nearly 10 minutes and there were several people in front of me. The film was due to start in 5 minutes so I asked for help. The assistant couldn't get the machine to work either and told me to go back to the food queue which had got no shorter in that time. I just left the cinema. We're going to an Odeon. Very poor.
Absolutely abysmal customer service at…
Absolutely abysmal customer service at Peterborough, staff on the food counter need training in customer service and manners. It is notoriously difficult to get a part time job here as my children have tried numerous times yet the staff they have employed are rude, abrupt and ignorant! This has been our experience on various occasions, most recently when my teenage daughter was trying to buy refreshments before a film. She queued up for quite a while in a long queue, but when she reached the front of the queue, the assistant ignored her and wandered off to chat to a colleague, then to filling the coffee machine, completely ignoring my daughter, no explanation, no direction to another till, she knew my daughter was waiting and pretended she wasn't there. Then another assistant came over, opened another till nearby, ignored my daughter waiting at the till next to her and proceeded to serve others. My daughter had to join the end of the newly formed queue and was late to the start of her film. The assistant was hostile and rude when she did get served. The first assistant was also wearing false eyelashes which poses a hygiene risk when preparing food. We've decided to use an alternative cinema now. Showcase need to train their staff or at least get some with some common sense and common courtesy!
Disgusting state of the cinema
We visited Bluewater cinema on Wednesday August 5, 2026. The whole place was positively disgusting with discarded cartons, drinks, spilt popcorn all over the floor. There was no-one serving on the ice-cream counter; he had to come across from the pick and mix and then I was required to follow him back as money could not be taken at that counter.
The area outside the screens (7-12) was the same.
People were trying to serve themselves with tickets yet some of the outlets were obviously not working.
There was a distinct lack of staff. Have visited for many years but this has t be the worst I have ever seen it

Leeds branch has a rude and arrogant member of staff working there called Cameron. He either doesn’t like being corrected by a woman or by a person of colour, He’s either mysoginistic or a racist or both. He served a family of around 6 brown people and then I was next. He was about to serve a white male next when intervened and said I was waiting first. He didn’t like it when I told him this and his whole attitude whilst serving me was bad. I would have complained there and then but didn’t want to spoil my daughter’s experience more.
Cameron- you carry on making your milkshakes everyday! Ambitious lad.
ANNOYED
I purchased a cinema voucher for my granddaughter online on 20th June, for her birthday that was on 1st July. I still haven't reviewed the voucher and several emails later I still haven't had a refund. This morning I had another email saying that my request for a refund has been sent to Head Office, but the person responsible for dealing with refunds is on holiday until next week when they will expedite it. By then it will be 6 weeks since I bought it. Isn't it curious how when I paid for it online the money left my account immediately, but it takes all this time to get my money back. To say I'm annoyed is putting it mildly 😡

Refused entry for my 15 year old son at Nantgarw cinema for the film Odyssey. It was his 15th birthday and myself (his parent) and him went to see the film on Xplus to celebrate his birthday. Even though as his parent I vouched for his age because I didn’t have a copy of his passport the manager in full view of everybody else waiting to queue up publicly humiliated my son by telling his he didn’t look 15 and quizzed him on his date of birth. I stated I was his father and that it’s his birthday where the manager then embarrassed our group by claiming it’s exactly the same as me attempting to buy an under age person alcohol without iD. Ridiculous analogy to make especially in public and no common sense applied at all to the situation. As an insider member who spends approx £200 a month at Showcase I will NEVER visit this chain again. We did however catch the movie on iMax at Cardiff odeon later in that day by simply vouching my sons age to the member of staff, bravo Odeon for applying simple common sense to a simple situation. Showcase are clearly struggling at the mo and quite frankly with this ridiculous authoritarian attitude the quicker they go to the wall the better in my opinion.
The volume settings are painful.

There is no need to spoil the film with it.
My review concerns the Showcase Bristol…
My review concerns the Showcase Bristol Avonmeads.
i would & should be using this facility more often but its the opposite side of the city & time is often a factor.
I also should have given a review well before now but always forgetting so apologies Showcase.
As a single cinemagoer with a restricted interest in genre
i always go on mondays when its Insider Club day, where else can you get 2 hours entertainment watching a new release film for a Fiver ! come on .
Whenever i visit there are always plenty of staff on hand, i always get human service in the lobby, they are always friendly, courteous & helpful.
The place is clean and as i was 40 mins early there were comfortable seats to wait on .
Toilet facilities were numerous & the one i used clean & smelled pleasant, unlike other branded cinemas i have attended more local to me in the past, starting with V.
Screen itself was perfect, sound was loud ( always is ) which is why i always wear earplugs until the adverts part is over , sometimes right up to when the main feature begins.
Visiting this particular cinema is always a pleasure & they deserve more custom for their efforts ( mayb they do during weekends, i certainly hope so ) if you're in Bristol/ Bath area do give them a go ! 🙂👍

We received 3x £5 Snack vouchers as a lovely gift for Christmas. There was no expiry date shown on the vouchers so we took them along with our cinema vouchers to use today. To be told no they had expired. So they have pocketed £15 for nothing. Poor show. No good will or any desire to assist their customers. Also the screen bottom left in screen 10 is mucky with marks and very distracting. Expect a clean screen for over £8 per person.
If i could give it a zero star I would.
If i could give it a zero star I would.
I went to the teesside park cinema. First of all there wasn't anyone at the counter to buy tickets. It was self serve. It wouldn't let me buy a ticket It kept saying I couldn't buy ticket near a space. So I went over to the counter a polite girl called Hope helped me. This made me feel much better. I then went to get a coffee again nobody at the counter. Someone eventually came over but said so sorry coffee machine is switched off. So again little bit frustrated with the fact that the place seemed like it was all self service or out of service.
Any way we move on and my Granddaughters bought some Ice cream. And I bought some bits and bobs. This was after waiting for staff to appear again took a while.
On our way to watch Backrooms which is a 15 Rated Film. When this boy named Jake stopped us and said where is your ID now baring in mind My Granddaughter had already showed another young Man her Phone with the ticket on and he never asked for ID. But for some reason Jake thought he would and I understand that he was only doing his job but I'm 62 and My 2 Granddaughter's are Austistic. They were with me. I said they are 15
anyway to cut a long story short we couldn't get in to watch the film and yes I should have read the T& Cs which said that I needed ID. But I didn't.
But I think the place needs more staff. everything is self serve. It didn't have a friendly feel about it at all. Not a great experience. I don't think I will return. I will probably go to Vue Cinema in future as its a much more customer focused
Awful cinema for special needs
Awful cinema. We went to a sensory showing, sound was so loud we walked out. My autistic son was distraught. When we complained was asked if we spoke to someone. He wanted to leave immediately. He was distressed. No sympathy and have had to chase for a response twice. Nothing. Complete lack of care of understanding.
They have a rule where you can’t leave…
They have a rule where you can’t leave an unoccupied seat in between other viewers when buying tickets. This is super frustrating because all the good seats left are in threes so leaving me and my mother in law without access to buy tickets. So now we won’t attending even though we were really looking forward to it. Overall poor website experience, especially when the likelihood those seats would be booked mid day for a horror film are so low anyway like so dumb.
Overall cinema etiquette
Overall cinema etiquette. We went in to watch The Amazing Digital Circus and were appalled. There was nothing but chatter throughout the whole movie, and it was frankly difficult to hear and understand what was going on, At one point we had to turn around and ask them to be quiet and they didnt listen. Also the random clapping when the movie hadn't even started and singing throughout. Great movie, terrible audience.

I had my first visit to the cinema recently, and Kelly at the concession stand made the experience even more enjoyable. She was incredibly kind, helpful, and welcoming from the moment I arrived. She took the time to answer my questions and made me feel comfortable and valued as a customer. Her friendly attitude and excellent customer service really stood out and helped make my first cinema visit a great one. Thank you, Kelly, for such a positive experience
