PhotoBooks are the worst now!

The new way to make a photo book is terrible, with many glitches and takes way longer now. Will start looking for a new company to make my photobooks now. Very sad bc i really liked shutterfly, but not anymore.

Shipping costs 400% more than the photos

The website is easy to use. I was able to upload photos from my computer and Google photos. The quality of the photos was acceptable. The biggest problem is the shipping costs! I ordered twice from Shutterfly. The shipping costs are $21, the cheapest standard rate. I ordered 3 pictures that cost $6. The shipping was 400% more than the pictures. I miss the Costco printing, cheaper and just as good of quality.

The new editing platform no longer has a text box for adding and editing script that was a feature.

The new editing platform was unannounced. Some features are good. The awful feature is that the text box no longer opens to an enlarged box for writing or editing script. I can't find anyway to make changes to script! I have done 50 projects in the old editing mode and will no longer be using Shutterfly if the text box is not changed back to being able to edit! I previously would have given a five star to Shutterfly, but no longer. The person that I chatted with said that the feature is no longer available, but that he would pass on to the development team. We will see if that feature can be added back into this new editing.

Customer service is terrible, excuses instead of solutions, features such as album sharing are unreliable!

I have been a customer for about 14 years. There are very limited printing options anymore.
I loved the share site feature as it was easy to create qn album and share it. Security by password was even allowed.
About 2-3 years ago they discontinued this. We were told to migrate all our albums to our main shutterfly acct. I have an album with 23,000 pics in it. I have to search them when looking for something. It is time consuming.
I have been uploading photos to individual albums on their app. A share option allows a creation of a link to share them. I share via text, email or social media pm.
In the fall I was told a friend with the link could not view them. Shutterfly said to have them clear cache and use another browser. This solution is provided almost every time I contact them. Another friend said she couldn't use the platform.
A few weeks ago I took pics at an event. I shared the link via the app as normal. I was told last week it showed "page not found"
When I contacted the website, the bot told me same thing. Clear cache and use another browser. Frustrated I contacted shutterfly via pm on Facebook.
I was told they couldn't see pics unless they have an acct. I was also told link had to be sent by email. Friends in UK are able to view pics without one, via text. Nobody has mentioned that they were prompted to open an acct! When I told them this they said their app or browser was not updated. Laptops, pcs, and phones will notify you if the operating software or system needs to be updated. Plus if they don't have an acct they wouldn't have an app! They then said these friends dont have the current "website update"!When mentioning this they said a "project" couldn't be shared with a non member. I reminded them it was an album not a project. There seemed to be an excuse and inaccurate information for everything! They asked my name, email and album I tried to share. They said tech was going to look into it. Have not heard anything since. Have had to download pics and upload them to Google photos to share them! Very time consuming! It is frustrating and embarrassing! I can no longer submit photos for these "events" as I now need to transfer photos and share via Google. I was told today they "had enough pics"!
Certain things can't be done on app, which offers free 4x6 prints(only with discount codenow). It can't be used with website.
Their features are unreliable and customer service lacking! Do not recommend

My heart is broken

My heart is broken. I have enjoyed making photo books for over 15 years. The process was easy … this new whatever Shutterfly has done to the photo book making is a true nightmare. I was halfway finishing up with a special book when the new process to design (unannounced) occurred. I’m not what one would call a “tech wizard” but the former process was a snap. This new system is extremely difficult. Placing photos where I want, how I want… the new process changes things on me. This is annoying, frustrating, and I’d love to know who thought this new way of making books is user friendly. I wish I could sit down and have a chat with these people! Bring back the old way or at least leave it as an option. My fun hobby has now become my new headache.

No longer a photo book fan

I have been a faithful fan of Shutterfly for 17 years, making 35 photo books and many Christmas cards; spending hundreds of dollars. I have always loved the creative options working for hours setting up each book with my favorite layouts, backgrounds, and embellishments before starting my project.
I was 10 pages into my next photo book when everything suddenly changed with all of my saved options gone. I can't begin to say how frustrating it has been ever since.
I NO LONGER LOVE MAKING PHOTO BOOKS HERE!
It was so much easier with your previous format with advanced editing only when you needed it. Now The whole page is active. I feel like I'm juggling everything at once. This new program is very skittish and jerky; often freezing. I then have to close out Shutterfly and reopen.
I truly miss the former photo book format.

Shutterfly changed their album editing…

Shutterfly changed their album editing interface in the middle of my work on a project. This made it impossible to finish the project on time. The migration to a new interface was not announced in advance. Customer service refused to switch me back to the old interface even though we know other people are still using it.

This is my 2nd purchase

This is my 2nd purchase. I was inundated with emails for 50% off, so bought a blanket. Upon checking out, not only was there no discount but another $20 was added for shipping and taxes. When I contacted them they claimed I got a $119 blanket for $65. No where on my order form did it show that and my last blanket was $85 out the door. So I guess they hike ip the price and make it look like a discount ? No where did it indicate a discount! The rep was argumentative, dismissive and said I was “confused!”

Shutterfly Understand what customers want- not all the same

This company needs to understand some of its customer base. As a 60+ person your upgrade to the system are NOT WANTED. I do not need new trip & ticks and on line learning. I need your system to work I understand it and like it. You want upgrades, keep an original version available for others. So annoyed!!!

Limited possibilities for photo size and arrangement when adding photos to playing cards

Shutterfly is great if you want to make a book with photos and can arrange/size/etc. images in any way YOU want. BUT that doesn't appear to work for playing cards and perhaps other items. I wanted to put 1 simple photo in the center on the back of a playing card but their predetermined photo arrangement schemes would chop part of the photo off because it was not the exact same size as their predetermined boxes to put photos in. Spent a day with no luck and finally went to Zazzle where it was possible to do what I wanted in just a few minutes!!!! I have had a number of books made at Shutterfly that turned out beautifully because I was able to arrange and size photos the way I wanted to. If I want to make another book I hope shutterfly will still make doing your own thing possible! I rate making a book 5 stars - as long as you can find the one key thing to let you do it your own way!

Pictures with headless people...NOPE

Two orders from shutterfly with 200+ pics each time. The first time, I picked pics up at Walgreens. Pics were cropped where people's heads were cut off = can't use these for momentos! They, of course, blamed Walgreens. I gave them another chance. Uploaded pics from my phone and had them shipped to me...same problem again! Over half are not usable because people's heads were cut off. The pictures on my phone look so much better!! Why do they keep cutting off people's heads in my pictures?? Giving me a gift certificate for free pictures every time they screw up doesn't make up for it. I'M DONE, SHUTTERFLY.

Tacky watermark placement.

We ordered grad cards for my daughter. The back of the grad card has the Shutterfly logo printed all the way across her name. I would have been 100% fine with their logo/watermark on the companion envelopes. But $180.00 for 80 grad cards to have their logo splattered across her name is just tacky. Wish I would have ordered from somewhere else.

Specialist saved the day and my failed project.

I found it cumbersome to try and construct a picture book online. I had a specialist walk me through the process, understand what I was doing, and complete the project successfully. I was thankful since my initial submission wasn't checked and the pictures came out partial, and the book was a failed mess! Specialist then assisted me to reconstruct the book and sent out a new correctly done copy.

Delivery can't be trusted..

I liked that they offered a variety of different sizes and paper options for photo prints... I disliked that they charged $23 for standard shipping.. I had a total of four 4×6 prints, one 11 ×14 and two 16×20s.. I've paid less shipping for articles of clothing that were bigger and heavier..

Not only did they charge me an exorbitant amount for shipping, The shipping date kept getting delayed.. Every day I log into my email, it was coming a day or two later. This happened like a total of three times.... They would send me some blurb about inclement weather but I live in California, it's literally been 80 degrees here for the last week so that doesn't apply..

These were prints to go on an easel to display at my son's milestone 30th birthday party which their multiple delays caused us not to have..

So in summation, they offer quality prints, but the delivery can't be relied upon... never using again for anything special..

You can trust Printicular, because they allow you to pick up your prints at Walgreens instead of forcing you into paying ridiculous shipping cost.. I honestly think Shutterfly makes more money on shipping than they do prints..

I had a fantastic experience with Shutterfly hey

I had a fantastic experience with shutterfly. I ordered a print and frame. The print was off my phone and I picked out a frame. It was really easy. Customer Service was really helpful. Also because I wanted just to clarify a few details before hitting order.
