Having rented for over 20 years, Southernbrook (formerly Clarks) is, without question, the most incompetent letting agency I have ever dealt with.
In my experience, property photos were edited in ways that misrepresented the condition of the property, and unjustified cleaning charges were later invented to withhold money from my deposit. Communication was poor throughout, and I was given information by staff that later proved to be untrue.

I get the impression landlords may be satisfied, but as a tenant the service was appalling. I would strongly advise prospective tenants to think very carefully before dealing with this agency. I will never use them again.

Cannot thank Kelsey enough for the support in finding a rental property for myself and my children. I viewed a property last year and she remembered us from then with a new property recently. She was very available to show us around and knew this would be a perfect fit!

This company have recently taken over the management of my property.

I recently needed to contact the Estate Agent I have been using for about 20 years. I was informed that Kelsey - Anne Chrimes was no longer available. Apparently she now works with you. Please put me onto your prospective client list. Kelsey has recently helped me and she has an extraordinary high level of care for both the landlord ( me ) and the tenants.
You have done very well indeed to attract her to your company. I , for one , would like to contact her again when my current tenant in Fareham moves out. She is exceptional.

Tracey in the Bognor office has been amazing she remained cool calm and collected when my end of tenancy was delayed due to unforeseen circumstances. She was always very understanding and went out of her way to help my situation , Tracey you are a legend

Awful company, simply the worst I’ve ever had to deal with. Sold a parking permit then revoked it and refusing to refund after being told we would get a refund over the phone. Scum of the earth working for this company simple as that

Edit: after posting this review we received an email asking me to remove the review in return for the refund. Proving my point about this company. Which is also against Trustpilots terms and conditions.

Had a last minute document request for a mutual client and Sarah pulled out all the stops to meet the limited timescales. I work with management companies all over the uk, one of the best for sure

This is an update on my review from Friday 13/9/24. I am very pleased to announce that "the management" have agreed to refund my deposit of £300.11, today. I have therefore taken them on trust and upgraded them to 5 stars for resolving the problem to my satisfaction. Obviously, if I don't receive my refund as promised, I will write another review!

I find it hard to believe that I am reading about a Company (Southernbrook Lettings), whose very favourable submission below, has apparently been written by the Group's own Managing Director.

From recent experience, Landlords should be aware that a Southernbrook tenant, could be constructing a nuclear bomb shelter under their property and it would, most likely, go unnoticed by the letting agency.

Refused to register a Ukrainian friend because her income didn’t meet their threshold which is apparently designed to exclude absolutely anyone using housing benefits or a low income (£31k threshold incidentally). Highly discriminatory and rude.

Nothing positive to say about southernbrook. Viewed 3 rental properties. The first was a family home we loved but was rented to a group of 3 sharers. House 2 was grossly overpriced and then house 3 we loved. Put a holding deposit on the property to be ignored for several days. We was then told the landlord has pulled their property off the market and essentially ‘stitched the letting agents up’. There is now a southernbrook Let-by sign outside this house.
Avoid this company unless you thrive on stress, disappointment and regret

They are really helpful and nice and really understanding and easier to get along with and I can’t find anything wrong with them and I would recommend them to anyone

Southernbrook have managed my properties for 15 years. I can't fault them, always efficient, professional and cheerful. Just last month, tenants gave notice, the property was marketed the next day, new tenants found and contracts signed within the week. I couldn't ask for more. Thank you to all the team.
