I'm being generous giving this 2 stars
I'm being generous giving this 2 stars, despite having been there before and having had excellent experiences.
Depsite the restaurant being one-fifth (maybe one-sixth?) full, we were crammed in like sardines where I had to eat my meal like a T-Rex, so it felt like I was more doing campanology than having an enjoyable experience. Why? There was lots of space available, but 2' eating space/elbow room was simply not enough.
Also, the food was not that great. The saffron rice was dry/dusty, and the mixed grill tandoorii was also dry and lacked flavour. I'm very disappointed as I recommended this place as a leaving do for a valued colleague, but from having had experience as a chef, it felt very pre-prepared, not freshly cooked, and took a long time to arrive at the table.
The front of house service was very good, very friendly and efficient, but the focus needs to be on the food
