EV education

When we went to the garage I was sceptical about electric vehicles, the logistics of long journeys and that having been a driver for 40 odd years I had never used an automatic vehicle.
After a long and straightforward conversation our questions were answered and we felt confident to take a test drive and ultimately purchase a Peugeot Rifter

peugeot 2008 GT

when we arrived at the dealership we were met by Sol who was very pleasant and showed us round the car we were interested in, he took us for a test drive and left us to go over the car. We were very happy with the car and he wasn't pushy at all so we went ahead with the purchase.

Great Service

The service and guidance I received whilst purchasing my new car was excellent. The sales executive (Sol) was very attentive and knowledgeable whilst purchasing my new car. His service didn't stop there, he even contacted me a few days after I had collected my car to see if I had any questions or needed any additional support.

Great Service

Sol, the salesperson whose excellent communication guided me through the trade in of my old car and the purchase of my new car was very helpful and accommodating of my needs. I’m very happy with the service I received from him.

Citroen C3

The salesman, Sol, was so helpful. He sorted everything and made it easy for me to drive the car away!
The car was spotless and was in a good condition. I have had the car for almost 4 months and Sol has e-mailed me to see how I am enjoying the car. That's great after service.
I would definitely return if ever I buy another car.

poor customer relations

i tried to talk to a service person regarding a possible issue with my speed limit detector on my Vauxhall Corsa, i was transferred to a salesperson who within a minute of me trying to discuss the problem disconnected me. sounds like he'd rather be selling cars and getting a commission than helping people

Absolute rip off

Absolute rip off, quoted £700 for first service on a vauxhall vivaro. Rang two other vauxhall dealers in the area and was quoted under £300. The women on reception was friendly but obviously doesn't know what she is doing, as she said the service wasn't due till 32k, even though I said the book says 25k and my dashboard is saying 25k, her answer was it's been set up wrong at the factory. I won't ever use them. If someone from Tate's wants to contact me, please do as I have the quote ect in writing.

Incompetent, Rude, and Unhelpful

We bought a fully electric e-NIRO from Tates Pyecombe and pretty shortly after the purchase we started having issues charging the car. Sometimes it worked, most of the time it didn't. This has been going on for approximately 18-22 months now. Tates have inspected the car three times in the meantime but was unable to find the issue. I have since worked out that the issue is not with the car but with the charging cable. In lots of ways a relief, but it is extremely frustrating that the dealership was not able to find the problem in all this time. I had even asked if it could be the cable and was told 'no'. I was not offered to take a spare cable and test it. We have not been able to use our car without worrying excessively about running out of charge somewhere and not being to charge it up. What's more is that every time I rang up about this, I was met with a 'not this guy again' attitude on the phone. The dealership has not been helpful or flexible. I would have wished for a friendlier and more helpful tone. When I finally worked out the issue, I informed Tates of this. I enquired whether the cable was covered under my 7 year warranty. I was told that they would look into it and give a call back. This was one month and two days ago !! Never again will I buy a car from this company.

Buy through these guys

Just got anew car from these guys. Craig was superb and as I was buying from a distance he helped every step of the way. If you need a Kia talk to these guys first.

Had a issue with my 3008 ,booked in…

Had a issue with my 3008 ,booked in into pergeout in hove .fault was found quickly and I was kept up to date constantly with Salina / Connor on progress .can't recommend this branch enough super helpfull and having the online chat to access 24/7 it was stressful free and there was no waiting for Any Replies. 5*****

Outstanding Customer Service.

Outstanding Customer Service.

I would like to express my sincere thanks to Max who made buying a new car such an easy and pleasurable experience from start to finish. I reserved my car last Saturday and picked it up the following Friday, amazing. He kept me informed as to the whole process and explained everything in detail and nothing was too much trouble. After completing the sale he took me to the car and sat with me to advise on all the controls and set up profiles for me. He made sure I was fully comfortable with everything before he left and said any queries whatsoever to give him a call.

He is an absolute asset to Tates, friendly, knowledgeable, professional, customer service skills were excellent, attentive, patient and made the whole process stress-free.

I would highly recommend him if you are looking for an honest, knowledgeable, salesperson.

The other Salesmen were also very friendly and helpful and I would most certainly return to Tates.

Friendly & Knowledgeable staff at Tates

Very friendly and pleasant staff at the Portslade (Brighton) branch. Ordered a Hyundai Kona Hatchback in June 2025. Saw an example on the forecourt. Test drove it. Liked it very much. Collected a similar car a couple of weeks later. Great communication and good knowledge of the car when talking it all through with Max. Excellent service.
