It has its niche in higher-end retailing

It has some specialty items worth the trip. As a kitchen maestro, it's bone-in chicken breasts while BOGO on Wednesdays are so plump-they're hard to work with when E.g. making bone broth. Trying to control a substantial amount of residue in the rendering process is daunting. Otherwise, it's more or less like any other purveyor of gourmet foods. Finally, it has many racks of crackers, all with fancy names and packaging. A close label read reveals few if any are the slightest bit nutritious, containing 0 fiber. Crackers without fiber are like eating air.

Cesar salad kit

Cesar salad kit , fresh market .
I think there is to much lettuce for the amount of dressing.
Or , not enough dressing for the amount lettuce.
Adjustment is needed , what should change the price .
But , make it worth it , i will buy more than once a year ...

Pastries present so beautifully but……

In general, I am beginning to feel that fresh market is lacking in certain areas of their store. The pastries, although beautifully packaged and look so pretty , tasted quite bland and old and overly processed and dry. The very small loaf of lemon pound cake ($7.50 overpriced IMO ) was not a true poundcake in the sense of the word. It was more like cupcake in the shape of a pound cake. It was ultra sweet and crumbly dry. The flowers that I bought called the Grace bouquet was $30 and when I brought it home, I had to pick through it and found some dead flowers within the bouquet and other flowers that were at the very end of their life. I bought the bouquet because last time I was there I had a beautiful bouquet that lasted a very long time and I was very impressed. Not this time. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the store is very clean.

Not as fresh as they say it is

We bought some pies and pastries for a dessert for company that night. We were shocked to see blue mold up under the top crust of the main pie. It was all suspect after that. Kind of ruined the entire event.

Overpriced

Overpriced. Their pumpkin pie is gross, wasted $ on it.
Their refund/return policy is beyond bs. They need to make it more simple.

do not order online gift cards

do not order online gift cards. system needs to be changed. once they get your card they immediately charge your card and apparently it can't be sent to the recipients email although they first they ask for the recipients email. then confirmation email states a 4-5 day shipping when they live 1mile from the store. there is no customer service available no help or questions can be answered. the 800 numbers give you a voice recording. be careful when writing a personal message as the program automatically uses the senders name as the salutation.

A manager named Richie!

A manager named Richie provided a great example of good Custoner Service when he corrected an incorrect charge on my receipt that the register or individual did not catch the items as Buy one get one on my grocery receipt. He gave me a free set as a good will gesture and prepared them himself. It’s great to know that Fresh Market appreciates their customers as I enjoy shopping at the Naples location. Thank you Richie.

What Happened to This Great Store?

This market's best practices are dwindling rapidly. This was my favorite market to shop, but I don't think I can continue purchasing some of the items, especially meat and seafood. Earlier this year, I brought a grouper filet and when I cooked it, the grouper was no more than blubber and fat. I love red snapper and I brought one recently. When I got home and opened the fish, the stench was so bad I thought I was going to throw up. To combat the stench, I soaked the snapper in a vinegar and baking soda solution and the stench remained. I ate it because I paid so much for it. I also purchased the Greenland Turbot and it was yellow on the edges and stank really bad. The customer service representatives and the cashiers are very nice and professional, and the exceptionally nice manager gave me a refund and a gift certificate, but the problem remains unsolved. I walked past the seafood counter today and it was rank. The odor was so bad it could induce vomiting. Also, they are giving away free croissants if you buy their old and yellowed chicken salad. The croissants were stale. This is not the way to conduct business. Also, the ground sirloin looks pretty on the outside but when you get home and start preparing the meat, the inside of the meat is black. I loved their strawberry shortcake, but the last one I purchased gave me diahrrea, and it was stale and the icing was awful with a black strawberry on top of it. The only time seafood should stink is if it's old or not cleaned properly. When selling seafood, the best practice is not to retrieve it from the case and serve the same two day old seafood the next day. It smells horrible. Just put a few peices of each kind of fish out at a time. Replace the pieces displayed with fresh and clean seafood. You don't need to put 5 or more peices of seafood out at one time. Just sell the peices you have and if you run out, place more. Don't let the seafood sit out all day and stink up the store. The odor was so bad today I could not bear to try and purchase something. Once I asked if there were any split chicken breasts available and instead of saying they did not have any, the butcher went to the back and hacked a whole chicken in half and gave it to me. When I got home, it stank and and was overflowing with dark yellow fat. I soaked it and it still was something I wouldn't feed to an animal. When people complain about service, the automatic response is to give someone a refund or a gift card. This is very nice, but I would like to see safe handling practices employed for meats in this store. Don't make a boat load of yellow and nasty chicken salad and try to compensate by giving the buyer a stale box of free croissants. Think about this: would you want your family to eat smelly and rotten meat?

The supermarket sells cookies as hard…

The supermarket sells cookies as hard as rock. Additionally, it sells cookies called cookies with macadamia, but I didn't taste any nuts. What I tasted were white sugar that were cut in such a way that they looked like nuts, so I think this is misleading the consumers by calling it cookies with macadamia.
