Functional Gut Clinic Reviews 

I visited the functional gut clinic today, the appointment was seamless from start to finish. The professionalism of both The physiologist Dr Scott and his colleague Carol were exemplary. The explanations and instructions were clear and reassuring

The medical staff are lovely and I have no complaint about them.

I had an appointment booked for an Oesophageal Manometry on Thursday 13th August 2026 at 2pm. I realised on the morning of the appointment that it was going to be 38Degrees centigrade, and I was concerned for my safety going out in that heat.
• I rang the “urgent” telephone number at 9.10 and discovered it was a Welsh call centre. I requested that my appointment should be rescheduled from today because of the heat but was told I could not be transferred to the clinic, and an urgent message would be sent through for the clinic to call me
• No one had called by 10.20 and I rang again and was again told that the clinic would call me.
• I rang again at 11.30. I asked if there was at least someone in the building with whom I could speak. Again I was told there was not, and the operative snapped at me saying “I will tell them that you are cancelling on the grounds of safety. Thank you and goodbye” and hung up.
• Fearing that the appointment would simply be cancelled and having paid for it, I rang again. I spoke to a very nice operative called Donna who apologised and said she would make sure it was simply rescheduled not cancelled and she was sure the clinic would contact me before the appointment time
• There was no contact and I was forced to go into the Centre of London in 38Degrees of heat in case the appointment had simply been cancelled totally. The medical team were totally unaware of all this.
No one has ever contacted me.

I appreciated that the team is very busy, but surely the answer is to employ more staff. I also note that there is not outside body (other than the QCC) to whom one can feedback

Very welcoming, efficient, personable and helpful staff, from reception to physiologists. Instructions very clear and provided with very precise guidance. Truly recommended.

Perfect customer service and clarity on the whole process

Very professional. Complex Gut problem IMO investigated. Contact and support there. Results fed back. Just very good and cannot fault them. Not like me to do 5 stars

I had a really lovely experience at this clinic. The staff were very kind and inviting and made me feel comfortable which eased my anxiety about the test I was having done. Really worth the trip down to London!

I attended the clinic for a test. The experience was good. The staff were extremely friendly and very attentive. They explained to me how the text will be done and throughout this time they always had a big smile on their face.

The healthcare professional was very nice and seems to be be knowledgeable about her job. The only thing that made me feel uncomfortable was the hygiene. I was a little taken aback when I was asked to lie on the bed but with no throw away liner. In fact no cover at all. So I was quite uncomfortable not knowing whether the bed had been disinfected after the previous patient. Overall it’s was an ok experience

Cannot complain about anything great service and treated me with respect and dignity.

The staff were welcoming and talked you through what would happen felt so calm

It took too long to book the appointment as there seems to be a messaging system between the person on the phone line & the person who actually books the appointment. Had to chase & only got a call back once appt was marked urgent.
Apart from problems booking the rest of the service was great

Although a not pleasant test the staff were very good and explained everything clearly, making sure I was informed and did everything in your own time. (Edinburgh clinic)

The review excellent - however medication was recommended and we were told this would available over the counter but this was not is was prescription medication only. Without notification to the GP we can’t h get this mediation as advised. We are unclear how to proceed m. The therapist needs to ensure advice is actionable
