Overall Experience
Dr. Elli served as my primary advisor and point of contact throughout the process. From day one, he consistently checked in, often daily, and was always available to address any concerns or questions—often within just a few hours, even during late-night moments of anxiety. His attentiveness and dedication ensured I fully utilized each component of the program, from personal statement editing to interview preparation. He also proactively connected me with my personal statement and specialty advisors whenever needed. His unwavering support provided me with clarity and confidence during an otherwise overwhelming time.

Personal Statement, CV, and Application Guidance
I worked with Dr. Fisher on my personal statement, CV, and ERAS application. His support was instrumental in my success. During our initial brainstorming session, I struggled to know where to begin, but he was able to extract 10–12 key bullet points from our conversation that I later developed into a compelling and coherent narrative. His insights helped me refine the structure and tone of my statement, as well as reframe content in my CV to better highlight my strengths.

Dr. Fisher also meticulously reviewed my ERAS application. In one notable instance, he caught a potentially problematic response I had marked as "Yes" and walked me through what the question was truly asking. His clarification helped me correct it to "No," likely preventing a negative flag. When I became anxious after attending open houses discussing red flags and application pitfalls, he calmly reassured me by referencing data and research The Match Guy had compiled—this helped me stay grounded and avoid impulsive changes to my application.

His support extended to countless details, including choosing between bullet points or essay-style responses in specific sections. His guidance throughout this process was invaluable.

Specialty Advising and Interview Preparation
For specialty and interview preparation, I worked with Dr. Bousamra, who is in the field I applied to. His guidance was extremely helpful—he advised me on how to secure away electives, supported me when I faced multiple rejections, and encouraged me to advocate for additional rotations at my home institution.

For interview preparation, Dr. Bousamra ran highly effective mock sessions, varying the questions each time to simulate real interview unpredictability. This prepared me to respond calmly and thoughtfully regardless of the question. He also helped me become aware of my verbal habits, allowing me to refine my delivery. Additionally, he provided tailored guidance on program-specific questions I could ask during open houses and interviews, based on our ongoing discussions and what he identified as important to me.

Even after interview season, he remained approachable and willing to answer questions beyond the scope of the cycle. His advice continues to benefit me today.

Final Thoughts
There’s much more I could say, but the bottom line is this: The support I received from The Match Guy—from the entire team—has been absolutely invaluable. Their involvement didn’t end on Match Day. I know I can still reach out for guidance, and that kind of continued support is rare.

To anyone considering this service, my one piece of advice is this: yes, the upfront cost may feel significant, especially for medical students managing tight budgets. But investing in your application now is far more cost-effective—emotionally, mentally, and financially—than facing the consequences of an avoidable reapplication. In my experience, it was entirely worth it.

Had my interview prep with Dr. Fisher as well as ERAS app/personal statement editing. He was absolutely amazing! He gave me access to his personal phone to contact him if i had any questions and was patient with me through editing various drafts, even letter of intents/interest. He succinctly tailored my personal statement and ERAS application with the right amount of edits without stripping away my essence and genuineness-- curated to perfection every sentence-- to the point where I messaged him several times even about one bullet point to look over and he was so patient and helped me until i felt comfortable with it. Honestly was godsend, because I don't know how else I would have navigated the stress without having someone to speak to about what is worth including and what is not. or how to make the application concise yet impactful, this is something i think most people worry over, and the task itself is very daunting but the Match Guy, Dr Fisher and Dr. Madj who did my other interview session, made it all bearable, and kind of fun to go through the process. I felt confident in my application and interview skills of course a lot of is doing them repeatedly. Regarding my interview prep with Dr. Madj in detail: My interview prep with Dr. El-Harasis was amazing; he was absolutely wonderful, and I learned a lot from him. He made me feel so at ease and gave me the options of how I wanted my interview to be conducted. We did a mock interview and then analysis/feedback on my interview. particularly, I loved that he turned on a transcribe feature on teams which actually transcribed the feedback portion of the interview, which was so helpful to reference back and create my own interview checklist/notes lists that I was adding onto. He sent me the transcript via email so I could have it on me whenever I needed. I referenced it a couple of times during my interview season. He prepared me really well for my answers but then we also talked about other potential questions that could be asked as well what else to add to my answers that would enhance my answer hence making it much more impactful during the interview. I received great compliments from some of the PDs/faculty I interviewed with saying that I was so natural and enthusiastic with everything I talked about in my application. This was 100% due to Dr. El-Harasis mentioning something to me that I haven't been quite able to forget which is always keep that enthusiasm and spontaneity because it's very refreshing for interviewers because it is memorable to them after having so many interviews after interviews.
I would highly highly recommended Dr. El-Harasis to everyone-- he was such a gem. Thank you Match Guy, Dr Fisher and Dr. El-Harasis!
