I wanted to extend my thanks to the team and Dr Adel Alhaj Saleh for helping me prepare for my interviews. As an older IMG my path to residency has not been straightforward.
I did a mock interview with Dr Adel and he gave important feedback that helped me refine my answers during the actual interviews. The second half of the mock interview is what made a big difference. He gave me ideas on how to answer difficult questions and steer the discussion for my advantage. Each of my interview went as planned and I could feel the difference in my confidence and well structured answers. Although I prepared a lot on my own, doing a Mock Interview and getting great feedback helped me modify my answers. The interview resources(Questions and videos) that they have on the website is very helpful. Prepare well before the Mock Session and please ask questions during the interviews. The Match Guy was very helpful in connecting me with a physician who allowed me to rotate with him remotely. During my rotation in psychiatry with Dr. Rodriguez, I learned about different approaches to treating trauma and grief, in addition to the traditional use of SSRIs or CBT. I also learned how pharmacogenetic testing can be a cornerstone in treating patients with a history of using multiple medications that have not been effective.

Dr. Rodriguez allowed me to interview patients from different backgrounds and located across the United States and other countries. This was a great opportunity to learn about the different challenges that patients face and how to tailor treatment plans accordingly. If you have intermediate Spanish skills, you will be able to learn even more from this rotation.

Dr. Rodriguez is very knowledgeable about the adverse effects of medications. I would recommend studying "Stahl's Essential Psychopharmacology" before the rotation so that you can be on the same page as him. This will help you get the most out of the rotation and become a more well-rounded prescriber.

The Match Guy team checked in on my progress periodically throughout the rotation. This, along with Dr. Rodriguez's kindness and patience, made me feel supported throughout the experience. The process of connecting with Dr. Rodriguez was smooth and simple. Dr. Malke also contacted me a few times to check on my progress. I would definitely recommend contacting The Match Guy team if you are looking for a USCE rotation.

Dr. Saade's guidance and advice regarding the interview set-up were immensely helpful. His expertise extended beyond the standard interview tips, as he also provided valuable insights into addressing potential internet connection issues. This aspect of his guidance was particularly enlightening and will undoubtedly contribute to a smoother interview process.

Moreover, the insights shared by Dr. Saade were not only meaningful but also highly practical. His recommendations have given me a clearer perspective on how to approach the interview confidently and effectively.

I genuinely enjoyed the experience of meeting Dr. Saade. His professionalism and willingness to share his knowledge were greatly appreciated. The mock interview has left me feeling better prepared and more confident as I move forward in my interview preparation.

I went through couple of sessions with Dr. Abu-Shar, and he absolutely taught me what I was missing to be completely ready and confident through each interview I had. I received emails from few programs after matching stating that I was a high-ranked candidate. I eventually matched in the no. 1 program in my rank list. Many thanks to this amazing coach. I received an opportunity to get trained for residency interviews by Dr. Asaad. He was very thorough and particular and paid attention to all details- from the background, and body language, to the content and delivery of the answers. I believe, in retrospect, my interviews helped me match.
