The Odin Project (TOP) - not the specialist tutoring I was expecting

The Odin Project (TOP) was highly recommended by a video web developer blog, so I gave it ago. The Foundation course is painfully slow but all basic information that would benefit a coder long term. So I persisted. However, once I got to the meat of the course, creating a Xubuntu virtual machine so that I could actually start coding, the installation failed - four times. And despite being encouraged to join the Discord Community for support, no support has availed itself to me while TOP simply pointed me back Discord and its lesson plan. I don't believe in teaching via sink or swim, without appropriate technical support. If you are looking to be professionally supported whilst learning to code, then this is probably not the course for you.

It is a free and open source project…

It is a free and open source project that has a lot of great resources for web development. It made actually made me learn web development. Also the community is very active and supportive. Everyone who is interested in web dev should go through The Odin Project.
