Had charger installed, intermittent faults since day 1. Called egg, manufacturer several times. Emailed egg customer service and finally an engineer visited but was unable to fix problem. I have been paying monthly DD £25 for a charger that rarely works. Several messages to egg customer service mobile number and am told they are investigating this- months have passed. I’ve emailed their “get cracking” address and no action. By moving away from their residential support and warranty they gave with love electric this is a material breach of contract and interests customer experience I have ever had. Avoid at all costs.
Unsolicited call from No Caller ID. We are also on Telephone Preference Service. Very rude male person on the phone trying to get information from me and he eventually put the phone down and ceased the call. Would be very careful about this company
If I could give less than 1 star I would. Disgusting service and I will be complaining to trading standards. My car charger stopped working and over a month I have been contacting egg on a daily basis and it's still not fixed. I have spent hundreds paying for public chargers
Experience was ok with them but they did not provide an electric certificate which I now need. I have emailed the support team several times and they have decided to ignore me. Terrible customer service
Avoid this company at all costs. Terrible with existing customers!
I have had EV chargers (plural) with Egg for 2.5 years. The first one broke and it turned out that the engineer who came to replace it with a different one advised that the original charger was awful and Egg was the only company still supplying them and they had ‘known’ safety concerns in the industry.
The second charger has been a complete joke. Egg have or ‘had’ an App that you had to use to use my current EV charger. Well Egg have now fully exited the direct to consumer market and their App no longer works. There is no customer support lines or emails to fix the issue. The company Egg partnered with to create the App have advised me that Egg no longer work with them and essentially their App is now dead. So I can’t use the charger as it needs the Egg App and I can’t fix this issue. Egg have not replied to a single email I have sent, the only emails they have sent are to advise me I need to reinstate my direct debit which I won’t do as they are in breach of contract.
Avoid this cowboy company at all costs!!!!

The engineers who came to install our system were very friendly and courteous. The comms were great from the start to the end of the process. Also, the finance option makes solar energy affordable. However, I have not received any compensation for my Nat Grid feeds. It is taking forever from my Supplier EDF.
Sold me a charger and then looks like the residential side has gone in to administration, charger doesn’t work and Indra not interested so I’m now stuck with an expensive useless box.

Had solar panels and 3 batteries installed in march 2025 Septembers 2025 batteries have gone wrong system will not work. Have tried every number and email available to contact egg to get this issue resolved but they don’t come back to my calls or emails. So I have spent 11k on a system that doesn’t work after only 7 months. My only option now is pay an independent company to try and fix this system .
DO NOT use this company once they have your money they are done with you.
Bad experience during installation, but absolutely abysmal customer service after! Stay away if you still can!
Anything you can think of went wrong with the installation - from the scaffolders putting bars in front of our neighbours door (without permission) to the agreed place inside the house being too small for the battery to our roof being too small for the panels. They then put some on our neighbours roof (until my husband pointed that out). I could go on and on, eg one day they turned up with a ladder too short for the scaffolding Our walls were damaged in several places through the scaffolding - took them weeks to remove the scaffolding and make good of the damage. But the worst: the panels worked for about a month and stopped about 4 months ago. Since, we've been chasing and chasing and no one gets back to you! We've finally had an engineer out a month ago, told us the inverter was faulty and we'd get a new one installed. Then 10 days ago another engineer saying that the panels might be faulty, knowing nothing of the feedback of engineer 1. And again - no word from Egg since!
UPDATE October 2025
================
Egg agreed they got it wrong. They have agreed to pay for my chosen Tesla contractor to rectify the faults in the installation. I just need to send them the invoice.
They have withdrawn from solar PV market at this time, but will run a small support group for existing installations.
My new contractor is surveying and measuring for cabling this week, then will erect scaffold and start their rectification work by removing all panels and re-wiring correctly to the inverter; and then installing the right protection into the Gateway.
Awful company, they initially installed the charger and it worked fine until recently it stopped working.
I have been contacting Egg for weeks now but to no avail. I have since been charging the vehicle outside, which is costing a lot.
I got a private engineer come out who confirmed that the wire installed by egg was not compatible with the charge hence the charger has stopped working.
Really disappointed as I am unsure of how I can resolve this issue, as I am unable to speak to anyone in order to resolve this issue.
I would advise anyone using egg to avoid them at all cost, as they are quick to take money but do not respond, when required.
Shocking company do not use them! I bought an EV charger from them after calling to complain it no longer worked they basically called me a liar and said they can see power going to it without considering the unit might be broke and not sending the power to my car. They refuse to help get it sorted they refuse to give me any money back for all the money spent on charging my car outside of my home. They never answer the phone or respond to requests. Avoid at all costs
My EV car charger isn’t working. The customer service number has “no one available” and the AI chat bot says “we’ll aim to contact you in a day”. Been over 24 hours and I’m just sat here waiting. Gone are the days of interacting with a human.
The sales and installation process went smoothly and was carried out to a high standard – no complaints there. The team was professional throughout. However, after the installation was completed, it became increasingly difficult to get in touch with the project coordinator to set up our battery charging schedules to take advantage of off-peak grid hours. Despite multiple attempts via phone and email, I’ve yet to receive a response. Additionally, the setup guide provided was for a different app and not relevant to SolaXCloud, which added to the confusion. Overall, the experience with the company was positive, but this feedback specifically relates to the project coordinator and the support/training provided after installation.
Poor communication from the start. Scaffolders turned up unexpectedly to erect. We were lucky our neighbour could come home to open side gate for access .
Install was okay, again communication issues which delayed installers for a morning while Egg agreed on additional cabling.
My main gripe is the inability to reach anyone on the phone as we have problems with 5 of our panels that are generating very poorly despite being in full sun from midday.
The live chat does not respond at all and email response is erratic. I'm currently waiting for Egg to review data from last few weeks to see if they can sort issue out. Egg do not provide any support for when things go wrong, and nothing on weekends.
And don't get me started on Foxess app. Very clunky.
Egg has been very helpful and responsive to our needs, from quotation right through to after-sales support. Our installation was a little awkward, requiring ground works and running a cable quite a distance to our detached garage, which meant other companies had declined the work. The existing electricity box wasn’t big enough, so they installed an additional one, recessing that into the wall when requested too. All in all a very neat job.
After the initial installation of solar panels and battery we asked to expand the system with an additional 2 batteries, and these were quoted for and installed in a very short space of time. Very impressed with the speed of work undertaken and the professionalism with which it was carried out. Everyone we have dealt with at Egg and their sub-contractors has been a pleasure to deal with. I would highly recommend Egg for any solar installation.

Great experience from start to finish. Everything happened on time as planned and received a great deal. System has been operating very well for the first few weeks. Would highly recommend.

Experience was great overall. I went with EGG over my energy supplier Octopus as EGG were far more competitive on price and the Octopus sales approach so bad at one point I thought it a scam! (I will add that a different story for Air Heat Pump where Octopus performed well and they installing mine now). With EGG the initial calls and the talk through of options was clear, informstive and friendly. They do lose one star as unfortunately, when I was passed through to the call rep responsible for the installation part they were dreadful. I only discovered scaffolding was arriving the following morning at 5pm the previous night to it's arrival because I called them! No apology given but they blase rep and the scaffolding firm said this happens often! I did make an official complaint that prompted a full acknowledgement and apology but still dissapointing that what could have been a stress free excellent service (and 5 start review here) let down by the apathy of one. System up and running and seems working well 2 months in.

We had our EV charger installed this morning and the car was charged by lunchtime!
The friendly installers arrived perfectly on time and we quickly agreed a plan. The house power was only off towards the end, which they kept brief and gave us the heads-up about (which our gaming 16-year-old appreciated).
They did a really neat job, routing the cabling and placing the outlet exactly where discussed.
We were introduced to the shiny new product and supported during setup. Our car was perfectly compatible and everything works great.
Thanks, Egg!
