Well, my experience with the real real was mixed but ultimately negative. I was very excited and trilled for my first purchase from this company. The first item I purchased though beautiful was the wrong description(pristine) and wrong size (advertised sz8 but delivered Sz 12). I reached out for resolution. I was successful for the first issue but not the second. The chat interaction was so egregiously wrong that I started to read reviews and realized I was not alone in this experience. I ultimately had to go through my bank for resolution. I had interest in another item during the bank dispute . I tried to confirm sizing via their chat and received no clarity which I made clear in my review of said chat. I purchased it cognizant of the TRR sizing inaccuracies and again the sizing was off but I was able to work with the item. The real real’s false advertisement of my initial purchase was irrefutable and as expected the bank resolved the matter in my favor. However I was hesitant to trust them after the out come so I opened another account. That process was fine so I tried to make yet another purchase using the original account hoping all would be well and realized I was blocked. Tried the second account same issue. I got a message through the email liked to my second account (not the first) informing me of being blocking for payment issue. While the new account did come with a new credit that purchase went through without issue. As my original account was blocked first during this process and received no emails since I opened the dispute with the bank I can assume I the payment issue was related to the dispute with the bank and the bank’s correct decision.
I was willing to look past the unfortunate experience of the first purchase from the real real (the item is still unwearable). After the incident I didn’t leave a negative review nor did I report the them to the FTC via its bureau of consumer protection. But my instincts were correct regarding trusting them. However, the silver lining is that I had so many items lined up for purchase, I would have ultimately spent thousands on this site had this not happened.

Take away recommendations from my experience:
Inspect your item for flaws and correct sizing.
Be wary of the advertised sizing or documented measurements.
Take photographs of your customer service chat.
Allow your bank to resolve the matter if TRR won’t. If you do, you shouldn’t expect to be welcomed back as a customer.

The bag is perfect. It was listed in excellent condition and it still had plastic on metal work. It is pristine. Delivery came right on time. I like the way TRR does markdowns. I watched this bag and when it hit my target price I nabbed it. Great experience!

RR needs to carefully check shoes. Twice I ordered Prada size 35 women and got gigantic shoes. Then, the shoes were immediately put back on the site with incorrect sizing.

Sent my purchase under ground service UPS. Weeks overdue from estimated delivery time. My package has been stuck in my city for two weeks. UPS says they delivered it to you USPS (since they are the shipping partner) and USPS said they didn’t deliver it. I have spent countless hours talking to these shipping companies and i have NEVER done that in my life, let alone for a luxury goods retailer. Walmart has made me much more satisfied than you guys have. Weeks and all I have is lost money, hours of frustration with shipping services, no reimbursement whatsoever for the inconvenience and above all, no product that I PURCHASED. First and last time shopping at the RealReal.

Measurements and not just sizes are extremely helpful. The site is very user-friendly and easy to navigate.

Love the shopping experience and the product selection. Ordering process is simple and shipping is quick. Shipping cost is exorbitant and makes me hesitant to order. Even worse is the cost to return merchandise. My only other issue is accuracy of the measurements. It seems like they're wrong as often as they are right, and this just contributes to the frustration concerning costs to return items.
