Paid for a Riding Holiday but Horses Were Unsafe to Ride
I booked a horse-riding holiday with Tom and Tori on bookhorseridingholidays.com through Tripaneer.
On arrival I found the horses underweight, in poor condition- esp the TB- and, in my professional opinion as an experienced equestrian, unsafe for the activities advertised. ( I am a qualified Equine Dentist, Vet and BHSAI. I have produced and bred top Event horses and have ridden my whole life.)
As a result, we were unable to ride at all — the only reason for booking.
I raised these issues with both the operator and Tripaneer but received no satisfactory response. There had previously been a very positive TripAdvisor review for this operator, which has since been removed. That review was written by a close relative of the operator, which I consider a red flag about how the business represents itself online.
Despite providing details and evidence, no refund or resolution has been offered. I am now referring the matter to the National Consumer Commission and the NSPCA. Posting this review to warn other travellers.
