Stress free process, ordered my bathroom, and was supported by staff during the process was given guidance and ideas and time was taken to do so, never during the process of picking this, did I feel rushed. Staff were professional at all times. I was kept up to date with deliveries, fitting etc and David fitted by bathroom. David was very professional, he kept me up to date, he worked hard every day and I didn't need to do anything during the fitting process. He explained everything, confident and approachable. The bathroom is stunning and definately my favourite room in the house now. I would recommend My Beautiful Bathroom and David to family and friends and looking forward to showing my new bathroom off to family and friends.

Bathroom Renovation
We chose My Beautiful Bathroom because they offered a full service, including design, sourcing and vetting a fitter, and project managing the installation. Unfortunately, our experience fell far short of what was promised.
The installation, carried out by Chris S of Edinburgh Tiling & Bathrooms, took 8 days and raised concerns from the outset. During the works, we were incorrectly told there was an issue with our stopcock, which led us to call out an emergency plumber. This was proven to be untrue, and the plumber instead expressed concern about the fitter’s capability. A second fitter later confirmed there were no issues with our stopcock.
Chris returned on day 9 to address some initial problems but refused to return to fix any further issues.
The standard of installation was unacceptable. There were gaps and movement in the flooring, excessive and messy silicone, a visible gap of around an inch between wet wall panels, fixtures including the shower T-bar installed noticeably out of level, and multiple visible defects throughout. The shower door was even installed upside down, with rollers coming off the rail. We also discovered debris left beneath sections of the flooring.
Despite raising these issues immediately, communication was extremely poor. We had to constantly chase for updates, which were repeatedly met with responses such as “I’ll follow up” or “I’ll chase the project manager”, with no meaningful progress made.
It was only after seeking legal advice and making clear we would pursue the Simple Procedure process that My Beautiful Bathroom engaged properly and arranged a remedial visit, approximately 2.5 months after installation. Prior to this, many of the issues were downplayed as “snagging”.
The second fitter (Pawel) spent two days attempting to remediate the issues. While we have no complaints about his effort, he was clearly working around significant failings in the original installation.
Ultimately, the only way to achieve the “beautiful bathroom” we were promised would be to remove and reinstall large parts of the installation. Instead, we have had to settle for a finish that is, at best, acceptable.
Overall, this was a stressful and time-consuming experience that required significant effort on our part. We would strongly advise others to fully understand their legal rights and the joint responsibility that both the company and the fitter have for the final outcome before proceeding.
Update following company response:
We note the company’s response but do not agree with their characterisation of events.
Payment to the original fitter was made in good faith on the understanding that outstanding issues would be resolved, not as confirmation that the installation was complete or acceptable.
While remedial work was acknowledged early on, this was not actioned for approximately 2.5 months and only progressed following escalation on our part.
We also requested further information regarding the fitter and what vetting had been carried out, however this was not provided. We would have no issue reviewing the fitter directly if this information were made available.
Following the second remedial visit, we provided a list of outstanding issues, including items such as the shower T-bar not being level, but are still waiting on a response.

Summary of what happened:
We accept the initial start with Chris Scoular was not as you had hoped and apologise for the inconvenience this caused.
As soon as you flagged issues, we attended promptly, visiting your home and put a clear plan of action in place to remedy the issues that you highlighted.
You opted to withhold some of the payment until Chris completed the work to a standard you were happy with, which was exactly the right thing to do. This clearly demonstrates that you had read and understood our terms and conditions.
Our T&Cs clearly state "Only once you have inspected and are entirely satisfied with every aspect of your installation will you be expected to pay the recommended installation company in full. Once paid, it is accepted by you that you are happy with the standard and quality of the installation works".
After Chris attended you chose to pay Chris in full. By paying the installer in full, you have accepted the standard of work carried out and confirmed your project is completed. You have not taken any responsibility for this and this seems unfair as you knew and understood the terms and conditions but paid in full regardless.
Despite paying Chris in full you then came back to My Beautiful to say you were not happy with several cosmetic issues and we organised to help you with this. You are saying you chased us but we had already given you dates and been in contact on many occasions to keep you up to date. We may not have been able to get out as fast as you wanted but we certainly did not need to be threatened. Suggesting that it was legal threats that prompted us to help is completely unfair and it's just such a disappointing thing to write.
We only have 7 terms and conditions, 7.
We really don't know how they could be easier to read and understand.
We have been in your home 4 times, not to mention texts, calls, emails so again I am not sure how we could show more effort or care to resolve the issues you have highlighted.
We note you have not reviewed Chris Scoular.
We have even given you a refund for 2 items that you never paid for!
We are sorry you remain unhappy but feel your review is harsh and doesn't reflect any of the time and assistance we have provided.

I had an extension made into a kitchen

I have now been contacted by the company asking me to change my review of MBB! (So now changed from a 2 * to 1*)
They state that the builders are not employed by MBB so the contract is with them (even though any paperwork of costs were from MBB) and NO PAPERWORK from the installers.
So any changes that are made (on installers recommendation when you are under time pressure is OUR fault!)
I am so frustrated and stressed with the whole thing I don't want any more communication with the company as they (disowned) the whole project stating that the plans and supply were what we wanted and the installers are self employed.(AND NOTHING TO DO WITH THE COMPANY!) SO BE AWARE! and make sure you have things in writing and record ALL conversations. As for the feeling left with us from dealing with installers is ......I can't say as it would be deformation of character .

We can confirm that the installers are recommended by us. They are self employed. They carry public liability insurance and they are vetted by us in depth before carrying out any work.
Each team install approx 45 bathroom projects per year. We carry our checked every week with every project and contact every customer for feedback.
Every project installed by our recommended installers is contacted by our customer service manager to discuss how things are going and follow up to completion before signing off.
As part of this process, you too, were contacted during and after your project to check in and your feedback was that despite the changes made, you were happy with the products and the standard of work David and his team carried out.
David, who installed your bathroom, has been recommended and been installing bathrooms professionally for numerous years.
We stand by the installation team’s professional judgement. The decision for changes to the original design was made in a consultation between you and David and he would not have gone ahead with such changes without an agreement from yourself before carrying out the work.
All work is carried out to a very high standard (of which you have stated on numerous occasions you were happy) in your bathroom and there is no outstanding work to take place.
By choosing the goods and agreeing to the installer’s recommendations during the installation, you accepted those choices — we cannot be held accountable for outcomes that arise from your choices after work starts.
We are truly sorry we could not come to an understanding on this occasion and feel we have done everything possible.

Fantastic service start to finish
This entire process start to finish was first class, from the design appointment with Aga to the install. We had as much time as we needed with designing the bathroom and never felt rushed to make a decision and were provided with several catalogues to look at as well as physical samples in the store. The 3D mock-up really brought it to life and the pricing was really competitive, easily beating big brands like B&Q. The process was explained thoroughly and this gave us full confidence there would be no issues and if there was anything we had a direct number to call. Linda in particular was very helpful and reassuring, quickly assisting us with new choices after our own blunder with our measurements meant we had to make some design changes. She was patient with our (many) questions.
Our installer Stephen and his assistant arrived exactly when they said they would each day, kept a tidy work area and was very professional. The work was carried out over 5 days as quoted to us in the store and this also included taking care of an unexpected rotten floor issue that was only discovered when the bathroom was ripped out. Stephen quoted us for the repair and this was handled promptly. Once completed we were advised any snags or issues were covered in the service and we could simply give him a call and he would revisit, and true to his word he done this with no issue to resolve one or two minor snags discovered.
Overall, we’re extremely happy with the service and products provided from My Beautiful Bathroom and Stephen Watson. We can’t recommend them and their enough!
