Go elsewhere

I have been using Transgas for around five years now and my experiences have just been getting worse and worse. I had to have an immersion tank replaced four years ago and rather than move the electrics, or at least talk to me about what would be best, they just went ahead and covered all the electrics so had no access once the new immersion was installed. Cut to four years later when I had a fuse pop, behind the tank, Transgas' own emergency (@ £240 for the visit to change a fuse) engineer wasn't able to diagnose the fault and after saying he only had one fuse promplty left.
So Transgas then said it must be the element that needs changing but didn't knoow when they would have an engineer available to had to go elsewhere. Anyway after all that it turns out the switch was faulty and needed replacing, but because they had placed the immersion tank in front if it it required the tank unplugging from the mains to access it. Thankfully the engineer I got out next was able to rectify Trangas' failings and sorted the electrics and I'm back up and running, no thanks to Trangas.
Transgas can't even get the basics right, it doesn't take a genius to figure out that you don't put an immovable tank in front of the electrics supplying power to the tank as one day this could cause a problem...

Two leaking showers

Had two leaking showers. Transgas managed to break both of them and charge me £675 for the privilege.

I have been a Transgas customer for a few years. I am really upset with the state of my two showers. Not what I expect.

Good local heating and plumbing company

Have used Transgas for several years and have always been happy. Not without the odd glitch but these always have been rectified.. Far preferred to more expensive but inferior alternatives like Pimlico Plumbing .

Prompt, efficient and affordable

Our boiler had packed up. We called TG and a very helpful Katy sorted appointment. We had a tracker to check progress and ETA. Chap arrived bang on time found it was leaking and 14yrs old! Needed new one, but TG do 0% finance. Cozy house, happy family, happy to use TG

Knowing how most of my friends had to…

Knowing how most of my friends had to wait an eternity for having their heating system checked- especially now the cold has come- I thought that I'd better get an appointment fast. I was positively surprised to see how professional and fast the booking process was with Transgas Services. I strongly recommend them.

Best heating company in Surrey

We've used Transgas for almost a decade now for both my own home and also for my kitchens business and they've always delivered a first class service. They've always been knowledgeable, trustworthy and honest - delivering fantastic works for our clients with honesty, integrity and professionalism. Highly recommendable!

I am extremely disappointed with the…

I am extremely disappointed with the service I received from Transgas, as they are not what they used to be. The management has clearly gone downhill. I scheduled an appointment and waited a week for it, only to receive a call at 8am on the day of the appointment, informing me that the plumber was already outside my door. There was no prior confirmation or warning, which is something they used to do. To make matters worse, the person on the phone was rude when I mentioned this.

This was the only morning I had available, and now I’m being told I have to wait another week for a new appointment. This level of unreliability is unacceptable. I would strongly advise looking for a more dependable company. Transgas no longer seems to care about customer service.

Thanks for the review. The appointment was booked and immediately a confirmation email was sent out comfirming out attendance for our am slot of 8am - noon. Ordinarily a text message is automatically sent (Uber style) when our engineer travels to a job, but this is only possible if there is a phone number associated with the account. On this occassion, as no phone numbers were associated with this account this did not happen. We did turn up when we said we would though, but we were told that 8am was not convenient and we had to come back later. The engineer's day did not allow him to return later in the morning due to not wanting to let other clients down, just like we didn't let this client, by arriving within the time slot we said we would.

In the past we have phoned this client to confirm we are on the way, but this only happens if you ask for is, as for 99% of our jobs the text message notifys we are on our way. This was not asked for on this occassion.

Apologies you thought our office staff were rude, it is clearly frustrating for both parties when they can see you were notificed about the job but you are saying you were not and blaming us for turning up on the date and time we said we would! On that particular day they did not have anyone else to send to you. We always try our best to accommodate clients needs, but at certain times of the year, if we attend when we say we will and get turned away, we cannot always get someone back the same day.

Always disappointing when you lose a client, but I wish you good luck in finding the company you need to suit your needs.

Paul from Transgas was superb!

Just had Paul from Transgas back to service our boiler. We had noticed the pressure was high and even after letting water out of the system, it was remaining high shortly after. Paul was excellent explaining to my wife what had happened with the expansion vessel being deflated and he quickly remedied the issue. He spent some time resetting the boiler to make it as economical as it could be.
A huge thank you to Katy in the office for arranging the service quickly for us, it has been an absolute pleasure once again!

Contact Transgas after I was let down by the previous company. Their response was quick. The staff was very punctual, professional and friendly to carry out the works efficiently. More than happy to recommend:)

Sorry to hear you are dissatisfied with our service. With regards to pricing, all works were quoted for and agreed upon prior to completion. With regards to the warranty, we didn't feel it was unreasonable to see if your tenant could provide a photo of the data badge, had this not been possible we would have returned. We understand requests for payment can cause friction if you feel there is information outstanding, however, withholding the full balance when parts have been fitted and full function has been restored didn't seem fair to us as we have had to pay for the materials and the engineer to carry out the installation. Sorry you feel we were unable to resolve this issue for yourself.

In response to the above review, this will be our final update as it’s turning into an open conversation. We’ve squeezed the job in before Christmas, looked at how much it would cost to repipe and remove the unit (£8k highlighted why this was a bad idea), installed the new unit and invoiced as per the amount agreed in our quote. We didn’t record a serial number but asked if the tenant would be able to get a photo of this to save a return visit. We would have returned for free if necessary and still will if it’s needed. We did ask for part payment of the bill which seemed fair as the materials were paid for and installed and our suppliers and our engineer expect us to pay them also. We regret that it’s escalated to this level so quickly but feel pursuing this further will benefit neither party at this time.

Zero stars for Transgas Services!

Used their service in Nov-2021 for boiler maintenance and a gas certificate. Shockingly, in 2022, the boiler broke right before its annual service. Luckily, insurance covered the repair cost, sparing me from potentially spending hundreds. I only had to pay a £90 excess. Disappointingly, Transgas hadn't serviced the boiler at all. The fixing engineer provided evidence with photos. Disturbing how Transgas handles service verification, especially with gas certificates at stake.

I reached out, seeking a refund for the undelivered service and £90 BRITISH GAS insurance excess compensation. Sadly, they refused. Opting not to prolong the argument, my time is worth more than what they owe. As warned in my letter, sharing my experience to prevent them from easy money without service. The public is discerning; they can spot a genuine claim from a fake one. Spread the word!

Thank you for your review. Your review has left out some important information. For clarity, it was nearly a full year since we serviced the boiler before it broke. I don't believe that, after this length of time, any engineer would be able to say that it was never serviced. We sent you a full service certificate following our work in November 2021 and are confident that the service was carried out to our usual high standards. You haven't mentioned the threatening letter that you sent us demanding we pay for your repair cost, otherwise you would bad mouth us on social media. We replied to you asking for an engineer's report, dates, times and a copy of the repair invoice. You never responded to our requests but have clearly decided to try and tarnish our reputation anyway. 1 bad review out of over 1000 on different platforms suggests more about your ethics than it does ours. Transgas has been a fantastic use to…

Transgas has been a fantastic use to Hallways, we have used this company for landlords gas safety checks and all customers boiler services. The company was prompt to getting back to us and enabling their services to us. Since using Transgas, we have been able to give our clients an even better service than usual with no faults and it has been an overall great experience!

Recommended to me by our electrician…

Rwecommended to me by our electrician and they haven't disappointed.
I've used them three times over a brief period from disconnecting gas meter to removing a complete heating system.Preofessional from start to finish, in fact on the last job they pulled out all the stops to get me an enginner as quickly as possible when a pump went and there was no hot water at the the taps.
Engineers have always been prompt, efficient and leave no mess when they leave.
Very happy and can thoroughly recommend

No mess, no fuss, just a perfectly fixed loo & tap, thank you

Transgas Services provided a fast, calm, efficient Covid secure service with a timed appointment that fitted neatly into my working day with no “an engineer will be with you between 07:00 and 13:00” hanging around.
Their charming, efficient, unobtrusive and professional plumber arrived on the dot, fixed the first loo, said the flush on second had more life in it and that changing it was, in his opinion, an unnecessary expense (thank you, no one likes to spend money they don’t need to).
Their chap fixed the tap and told me that, as it was quite corroded, it would get worse again and need replacing. I really appreciated that he didn’t just crack on and replace it there and then with some random mis-matched tap, that instead he bought us some time to think about what to do long term.
No card reader “don’t get too close to me” anti-Covid dance faff, an invoice matching the estimate was sent by email and I paid effortlessly using my internet banking app. All in all a super experience, thank you.

Best plumbing company

Best plumbing company I've ever worked with. They were top rated on Trust A Trader so decided to go with them. They quoted £1000 less than the other two companies I approached, and installed better brand of boiler.

New Sink and Tap

We recently had a new sink and tap plumbed in to the Kitchen, replacing an old plastic bowl with a shiny new porcelain bowl and a half. The work was carried out to a high quality, with minimal disruption and the engineers left the kitchen nice and tidy.

We were also advised the dishwasher was plumbed incorrectly and that it was a hazard waiting to happen. This was all fixed and even had a new outside tap and piping installed, replacing a leaking home DIY kit. Just in time for the sunshine.

I would highly recommend Transgas Services, and we are very happy with the work that was carried out.

Professional, knowledgeable and positive

Transgas have serviced my boiler for the last couple of years and have completed a couple of small plumbing jobs (radiator change, toilet flush fix) for me.
Each time I have found it easy to make an appointment and when I have needed it, it has been a next day appointment.
All engineers I have met have appeared professional and knowledgeable and have had a positive attitude (unlike many trades I have found recently).
I highly recommend them to all.
