Graham provided a professional but friendly experience for my holiday booking. It was so easy to understand him as his voice was very clear.

If there was a 0 response they would have it! My husband was in hospital for 6 days, having had a heart attack and various procedures, stress or what? We had 28 days to go before a booked holiday with Saga and they have charged us 90% cancellation fee on a holiday that was nearly £4000, more stress! We thought Saga was a company that catered for the elderly and whilst knowing a cancellation fee may be due, 90% does seem extreme. Who can predict a heart attack? so be aware no quarter given by Saga.

I phoned Saga to change a booking from one tour to a completely different one. I feared there might be difficulties, but in fact the advisor (I didn’t get his name) was incredibly helpful and efficient, even tbough the line kept delaying responses.

The tour itinerary was brilliant. So many famous and fascinating places to visit that you'd only heard about on TV or the movies. Sadly our enjoyment was impeded by our inexperienced tour manager and driver. They did successfully manage to get us from the beginning of the tour to the end but everything in between was pretty unsatisfactory. Unusual for Saga.
They were clearly not familiar with our route as we got lost at least three times trying to find hotels which wasted about three hours overall. Plus on arrival in LAX the coach was missing and took an hour and a half to turn up. We were left to our own devices for that time with no confirmation what was going on or updates. The tour manager seemed to have little idea what people wanted from such a tour or what information would help them. Every morning we were treated to meandering 35-45 minute Wikipedia histories of the rough area we were travelling through which were interminable, irrelevant and boring. There was no connection with the 'now'. They never pointed out anything we passed or made any insightful and relevant comments. The manager did not seek to develop relationships with any of the 31 travellers - although the driver David G was excellent in that regard. The manager kept each day's plans to themselves and left us in the dark as to where and when we would be stopping and what facilities would be available when we got there. The last day's tour of LA was a disaster. They never mentioned the Hollywood sign which some of us saw at a distance early in the tour but we never went anywhere near it and nobody got a chance to get a photo of it. Very disappointing for many on the coach as that was exactly what they went to LA to see. It was like going to London and never seeing Big Ben or even hearing it mentioned. The fabled visit to Manhattan Beach never materialised. Also at one point the bus stopped and the manager and driver discussed for 20 minutes about where to go next. Eventually they decided on a shopping mall. Fortunately a passenger challenged this and said they thought we were going to Santa Monica for lunch so we went there.
What we didn't know was only two minutes walk away was the immensely famous Rodeo Drive which many folk wanted to visit but had to be satisfied with a brief glimpse as we drove by. When it would have been so easy to walk over and see it during the wasted 20 minute stop. The manager kept a cool distance between themselves and the group and rarely joined in any of the walks round the places we stopped at and never added anything useful information-wise as (we assume) they didn't know anything. As we only had local guides on two mornings that left 15 whole days effectively guideless.
The general feeling on the coach towards the end of the tour was how it might have been enhanced as an experience if led by a friendlier, more informed, upbeat, experience enhancer than the person we were allocated.
As always, the tour manager is the critical part in making a trip enjoyable and successful. We all accept things won't always go right and there is a huge tolerance for that in a group on the whole, but this tour frankly wasn't up to scratch. Disappointing.

We saw and experienced a great deal. From the bus having to reverse in a road tunnel to seeing the expanse of Tokyo from the Skytree. From doing our best to avoid eating Horsemeat to sampling a range of delicious Japanese dishes.

Sarah Nye was an excellent tour manager, also Reiko was a great tour guide.
I enjoyed Japan, the people were lovely and country was fascinating. Watching sumo wrestling live was great, I found it really exciting.
I expected there to be a lot of walking but I didn't expect quite so many steps to all the places we visited. Some places were extremely crowded with many large groups of schoolchildren which made seeing things difficult.
The hotels and coaches were all very good quality, the staff were very helpful and the coaches were always on time.
The booking process was simple and the chauffeur service from the house was excellent and much appreciated.

Just booked with Lisa for India's Golden Triangle Escorted tour. I usually book online but had a couple of questions and wanted to speak to someone directly. How nice it was to do that, Lisa was patient, helpful, informative and made it so easy to do! I did a bit of chopping and changing but she couldn't have been nicer and so much better than online bots etc. Thank You Lisa!

A note of thanks to Lisa at Saga for helping me book a Christmas holiday in the UK when all appeared to be fully taken.

Sad that I have to give such a poor rating to saga when all my previous bookings with them have been satisfactory. The details are as follows:-OnMay 13th I looked up a holiday for 1st of September, and was sent a written quote (by email). When I later attempted to turn this into a firm booking, your system refused to accept it and UNBELIEVABLY INCREASED THE PRICE BY A MASSIVE £631. (18 %). I followed this up with a phone call to your customer "service", which resulted in me being on the phone for the best part of an hour, with the agent being unable to find the email quote. After being offered an alternative price which still fell short of the original quote (which I declined) . This resulted in me having to email a copy of the original quote to the agent whilst I was still on the phone to her. She then undertook to ring me back shortly after the matter had been looked into. This she did and agreed to book the holiday at the original quoted price. There are many aspects of Sagas service which are attractive such as home pick up and return, but your web site and phone booking system leave a great deal to be desired. As for this particular booking is concerned, it has now been resolved to my satisfaction, but has left me with a somewhat jaundiced view of Saga's Customer Service in general, and in particular its somewhat "opaque" Pricing Policies.

Our original holiday was planned to Jordan but for obvious reasons it was cancelled so we opted for the Adriatic Coastal Explorer. This was wonderful.
The MY Amorena is a beautiful yacht, immaculately maintain by the crew of seven. The food was delicious, always plenty and how the two chefs managed in such a small galley was great. Our tour manager, Bobby was first class. He showed his pride in his country with every explanation of the landscape, the people, their history and their customs, their education system and something that was close to Bobby's heart, their food.
He recommended the right places to eat to get authentic Croatian food. Our evening entertainment was well organised to suit the age demographic of everyone on board.

MV Amorena - cruising round the islands of the Dalmatian Coast. Excellent chef, staff and knowledgeable Tour manager - all made the holiday well worth it. And a lovely little ship too!

Good itinerary, excellent staff, splendid boat, good company and first class guide. Great holiday - we will be back for more.

Amorena is a beautiful boat, great food, excellent staff and stunning scenery. A great holiday

Beautiful boat, beautiful scenery, great crew, good food - far too much! - and the guide was excellent. Also, the chauffeur driven transfers are a great luxury that we really enjoyed, except for the return journey where the driver drove appallingly badly throughout the journey, took our post code for his sat nav whilst driving out of the car park. Didn’t know where his car was and we had to search 3 floors, with our luggage, to find it and then had all proximity sensors blaring until we finally managed to get him to turn them off!

Excellent from being collected to being dropped home.
The tour guide was so engaging with our group and was so knowledgeable, caring and so efficient. We were all so lucky to have Bobby with us. The crew on the Amorena was fantastic, nothing was too much trouble, the food the cleanliness, the restaurant manager were so attentive kind and friendly we were thoroughly looked after.
The Amorena is a beautiful boat it felt like a boat from the 1950's such nostalgia, but it had such modern facilities. It was a wonderful holiday from start to finishing. I am so glad we had the opportunity to sail with this crew and tour manager on this holiday. All the guests (27) of us were in agreement it was such a fantastic holiday for us all. Well Done to everyone

Nothing could be easier. Picked up and taken back to your door. All travel arrangements made for you and everything runs dependably smoothly. Friendly booking staff who listen to all your needs. All crew on ship formed a happy, friendly confident team. Nothing was too much trouble and the standard was amazing. An exceptional Tour Manager - Bobby. He had brilliant local and historic knowledge. Was friendly and helpful. Very creative in filling our time so that we had a great time that we would always remember. Would definitely book again and recommend this trip to everyone.

It was nice speaking with a friendly person and not with a machine. Katrina was very helpful and efficient.

Our recent trip with Saga on the MV Amorena along the Dalmatian coast was excellent. The food was delicious, the crew friendly and efficient, the cabins comfortable and our tour manager Bobby the best we have ever had (and we have been on many Saga holidays!).
Thanks to all the crew and Bobby for a really memorable holiday.
