Not only does this filter works, it looks so chic in my shower. I am a little bit picky when it comes to investing in something like this so I am glad that it matches my shower well and doesn’t stick out like a sore thumb. The filter does actually work, and I do notice a pretty big difference in my hair texture tool. It makes it much more shinier and softer and it DOES give me piece of mind that it also filters out microplastics as well. Especially since i brush and wash my face in the shower. I have tried the diamond series filter as well and do feel like they both work the same for making my hair soft, but this filter does remove more things that may not be as noticeable.

The video instructions in the QR code was helpful, but I wish it showed how to use the plumbers tape and ALL tools included (I figured it out though). Luckily no leaks and everything works with our shower head. You can see the water stains on my shampoo bottles from before I had a filter on the shower head.

The swap took ten seconds, just pop out the old one and drop the new one in. I'd say the replacement is very much worth the swap just because of how much softer and clean my scalp has felt, and love that it uses 80% less plastic too. Highly recommend stocking up!!

If i could give a negative i would, ordered a filter in March. Received several emails about it being back ordered., sent an email several times for cancellation as well as called them. They do not answer their phone so don’t waste your time left several messages. They went ahead and sent one of the items after attempting to reach them to return it. They refused to return it without charging me a fee, even though I provided them with proof that I have been trying to reach them forever.

The turnaround time for contact or emails is beyond absurd. I would not purchase anything from this company nor would I ever recommend them to anyone.

Do not waste your time

I own two Filter Baby shower filters and cannot use either of them. Not because of user error — because of a known manufacturing defect.

If your water is hard (and in Los Angeles, it absolutely is), the filter housing seizes shut. You cannot open it to change the filter. The unit becomes a permanently installed, gradually useless piece of plastic. When I contacted customer service, they acknowledged this was a known issue — which somehow made it worse. They knew. They sold it anyway.

I first reached out in March. I was promised replacement units within one to two months. It has now been three. I have followed up repeatedly. Each contact brings a fresh round of reassurances and a new timeline that quietly expires. No replacements. No resolution. No accountability.

What I’ve received instead is a masterclass in how to string a customer along indefinitely — enough responsiveness to prevent a chargeback, not enough action to actually solve anything.

I cannot in good conscience recommend a product with a documented structural flaw that the company is aware of and has not corrected. I especially cannot recommend a brand whose customer service model appears to be delay until the customer gives up.

If you have hard water — and if you’re in LA, you do — look elsewhere. There are competing shower filters that work. Filter Baby, at least in my experience, does not.
