Untrustworthy and inaccurate information website is awful
TrueCar's website is awful. The search engine is literally the worst I have ever used. I filtered used car search to 75 miles from my zip code. The first two pages are obviously page ads showing cars that were over 500 miles away. I could pay $600-$800 to ship these cars. Typical salesman crap, I am looking for a "cash car" for my son so my budget is $5,000 to $10,000. These clowns are showing me cars 500 miles away, in the price range, but add $600 shipping to it and it exceeds my budget. Also, DO NOT and I repeat, DO NOT get a quote on selling your vehicle on this site. I put in my vehicle's info on Kelly Blue Book and got a result of $1,835 by selling my vehicle to a dealer. This is good information and seems consistent with the research I have been seeing for cash cars. I put in the SAME information, same box questions and answer selections. These clowns gave a quote of.....ready.....$145!! LMAO.
If you are a fan of shady business…
If you are a fan of shady business practices and bait & switch sales techniques, then CarTeamUSA.com is the dealership for you. After agreeing to purchase one of mike's "flawless" used vehicles, he congratulated me via email on my taste in automobiles, then abruptly informed me that there had been a "price adjustment." Upon revisiting my car's listing on Truecar, I discovered that Saint mike had raised the price of my vehicle by over $4000. He also informed me that the Truecar offer sheet I had negotiated earlier that day was now no good. Funny, the offer sheet from Truecar said that the price was good for two more days. Who can you trust? Neither Truecar nor mike, apparently. Bottom line, DO NOT do business with mike and CarTeamUSA.com. So disappointed with this negative experience. If it were possible to give mike's dealership less than one star, I would do so without hesitation.
They discussed and came to an agreement…
They discussed and came to an agreement to purchase a 2013 Kia Sportage for £6,500 with my partner, and they documented this in writing. After confirming that the car was still available, they went change the agreement and will take £8,000, and the seller would not accept £6,500 in cash.
Not trust this web site offer
We went to see car which price listing is $12.000 and they said it was $22.000 when we went there. Also listing is still active with price $12.000 . Not trust this company web page. Google must close it because they put scam offers
We were quoted a price on the True…
We were quoted a price on the True Value website. We drove for 5hrs and rented a vehicle to get the car. When we arrived they said the car had another offer on it. This was after much communication with the True Value/dealership reps.
So disappointed that Sam's Club would allow this sort of unprofessional behavior.
Dishonest TrueCar
So on Wednesday In the morning I punch in my 2023 Hybrid into TrueCar. Wait a couple minutes and bingo $35,737. Seems fair and honest so on to the next step. Contacting the three dealers they say want to buy it at this price. Auto Boutique Georgesville Rd, Byers Chevrolet N Meadows Dr, and Tansky Sawmill Toyota Sawmill RD. Guess what ? They all said no way. Or offered 30k. Now being an old man who stands behind his words I got riled. So I call 1 888 878 3227 TrueCars service help number. 1st lady says no problem let me get the info and hand it over to dispute resolution team and worse case we have a wholesale dept that will buy it if they don't. um not totally true .. Didn't hear back so i called back, 2nd man says yes we are looking into it. 3rd time i call back different man say being looked into. 4th person this morning say no one has filled a dispute and that she would do it now. All these people tried to help 1 was good enough to really do it. But, guess what ? Even though their TrueCar page say simply do these 3 things and get your offer. 1) Contact the dealer, 2)Bring your paperwork, 3)Get paid. Needless to say this is all Bull Hockey! You would think a company would stand by its offers. But tonight TrueCar's dispute guy called me. He was nice and had to listen to me vent because he had started out saying we are on a recorded line. poor guy. Old men can go on for ever. But the final lie is he said that the program on their computer they use had made a mistake! Interesting. And If I still want to sell to TrueCar redo my app. Guess what ? Now they want to steal it for $32,827, almost 3 grand less. Truecar wants to say that the dealers come up with the prices? That is what an unreputable company would probably say. Oh, and at the end when I said " you know, not once did you say hey Dave what can we do to make this right or we are so sorry" Guess what after I said this he offers me a gift certificate for 100 bucks. Really? TrueCar You need some learn'in. If it really comes I told him I'll give it to the kid who cuts my grass. Just to rant longer. Go on TrueCars web page and search 2023 hybrid? . Tell me if those are stock pics being used to fish for customers? And call to see if any are real? Just asking also look at the range of price?

This service is a scam to sell a new…
This service is a scam to sell a new car or to lowball the "True Cash Offer." Waste of time. Never again.
Don’t believe the TrueCar Cash Offer…
Don’t believe the TrueCar Cash Offer service. They let “certified” dealers on their platform who offer prices within KBB traded in ranges so they look legit. Then when you accept their offer they drop the price significantly and start telling you the the new price represents the going auction price for your car AND they do drop the price without even looking it over. This bait and switch tactic is bush league. Never would have expected this from TrueCar!!!
If you list a car for sale to be bid on…
If you list a car for sale to be bid on by dealers, you get an email saying that multiple dealers "have given you an offer on your vehicle" with a stated price. My stated True Cash Offer from dealers was $30,425. My actual dealer offer was $27,000. I called the company to find out if these were actual "offers" from dealers. They tell me that the number is actually just an estimate and no dealers made an offer. This is fraud. They are misleading consumers and state Attorney Generals need to take notice of this practice.
Don't use true car
Don't use true car. They will give you a written offer that is supposed to be a real offer. When you get to the dealership they will charge you 9,000 over the true car price. And true car will tell you the dealership can charge whatever they want. There written offer that is supposed to be good for 14 days is just a useless lie to get you in the door.
I am happy with this site except for…
I am happy with this site except for one thing-later on, I received an email offering me a bonus amount off of what I THOUGHT was the car I had chosen(I think it was $1000) ,but then, after reading the offer more closely, it wasn't, in fact, on the car of my choice, but on a completely different model. Very disappointing!
THIS PORTAL IS A SCAM they send you to…
THIS PORTAL IS A SCAM they send you to dealers that that even if all your info is correct will always offer you less , go to carvana as i diid and receive much more
Received an offer with fees included. Dealer refused to honor
Received an offer with fees included. Went to dealer. Test drove car. Agreed to purchase. The dealer tacked on 20k to msrp and stated that true car doesn’t have to be honored and it just advertising for them. Total disappointment and waste of time.
TrueCar is a huge timesink
TrueCar aka Fake Car is good is you want a fake high price followed by 85% of their offer. 2 dealers acknowledged everything checked out on my car but TrueCar values are wrong. The third dealer was professional enough to tell me “TrueCar’s algorithm is wrong”.
dealership won't honor the true car price
I received the true car cash offer and the dealerships contacted me. I brought the car into the dealerships and it checked out great, but neither of them were willing to honor the true car appraisal and tried to low ball me.
All true car does is sell your info and tried to get you in the door to get low balled.
Truecar is true to nothing.
We went to the dealer with our Truecar offer. We were told by the General Manager he wants another $3000.00. Can not call this "haggle free". Truecar had no value. General Manager told us he can sell his cars for whatever he wants. Truecar price meant nothing to him. Truecar offered zero resolution.
No pre-certified fee
The dealership's offer for the pre-certified car I purchashed included the 'pre-certification' other dealerships were charging extra for. Saved over $1,400 on this alone when compared to other offers.
Using Truecar was the same as not using Truecar. Terrible dealer experience.
I had a terrible experience with Truecar and am so disappointed in myself for not going another route. I used to use USAA and their car buying service and when that went away, they pushed people to Truecar. It isn't quite the same. USAA gave me a quote to bring in and there was no negotiating. They even called when the dealer tried some common dirty tricks, like add-ons or saying the model I asked for didn't exist. With Truecar, there were so many hidden fees from the dealer and it works more like Lending Tree. You give them your info and they blast you with multiple offers. If you decide to use this service, don't buy from the first dealer. Get them as low as you think you can and call another. I hated this experience and would have been better off going at it alone because TrueCar made it look like I had the best offer. I had no idea there could even be a negotiation. I used the Veterans program which made it seem even more legit but now I just feel scammed by Truecar and the dealer. For Veterans looking for a similar service to the USAA car buying guide, I would stay away.
Bait and switch
Used Truecar and received both a “guaranteed” offer on my trade and a price on the vehicle I was interested in. However when I arrived at the dealership, Germain Toyota of Naples, they offered me $2,900 less for my trade and asked $5,000 more for the car. Had all kinds of reasons why they didn’t need to honor the Truecar pricing. After negotiating, I saved a bit, but wasn’t able to come anywhere close to the original “offers”. What a crock! Absolute bait and switch.
This service turned buying my new…
This service turned buying my new vehicle from a dreaded chore into a simple process of selecting the best offer. True Car did the work of locating the make and model I was looking for and suddenly I was contacted by numerous sales people, instead of wasting my valuable time searching hundreds of websites and driving from dealership to dealership.
