I’ve had a very frustrating experience…

I’ve had a very frustrating experience with Truliant Federal Credit Union recently. After requesting a certified check for only $2,000, my account was locked 5 days after making the check in one of their branch and without any prior notification or clear explanation.
I called customer service twice to try to understand the situation and explain my circumstances. The first representative told me it should not take long to resolve, while the second told me it could take up to 10 business days — almost three weeks. For a situation involving a relatively small certified check, this timeline makes very little sense to me.

My girls went to deposit their tips in their own accounts. They confirmed my daughter’s info and she made her deposit. And my second daughter instead of depositing the money in her own account they deposited the money in my oldest daughter’s account. Terrible service and no accountability. Charming $7.50 account fee when we have to babysit our accounts is crazy

Great local branches UNTIL you need their support, NEVER AGAIN

I banked with Truliant for about 2-3 years, rarely using the account as it was my local source for cash, deposits, etc. Their local branches are excellent, helpful and wonderful to deal with. It could be a great bank...until you need their support.

In December they alerted me to a fraudulent purchase for just under $1000. I called, confirmed it was not me and they provisionally added the credit back to my account. I provided all the information I could to backup that I did not make the purchase. In February, they removed the provisional credit and stated "no error occurred" placing the blame on me and removing $1000 from my account. I worked with their fraud team to no avail and even contacted their Sr. Management Team which placed the blame on Visa's fraud department. They had a chance to make this right and failed on multiple occasions. Never again Truliant, you failed me and I'm out $1000.

It's the worst credit union there is

It's the worst credit union there is. The people working there are completely incompetent and have no clue what is going on. Trying to resolve a credit card is problem is akin to ramming a knitting needle through your eye. Avoid this place!

Unorganized

I received two letters in the mail. One said old address and the other said new address. Both letters had the same address. Now they are switching debit/credit card companies. I kept waiting for my new card. I called and they said oh the Lot number was left off. Now this happened after receiving those two letters. They cancelled the one that I was supposed to receive and the new one will be received 7 to 10 days after I called. In the meantime I placed an order for new clothes because I've lost a lot of weight. Now because of the address mess up my order want make it on time for the new card to get here and will miss going on the old card by one day. These pants are $30 and I got them on sale for $15. Now they will be going back to the company I ordered them from unless a miracle happens. If two letters showed the correct address then why was the Lot number not on the envelope with my new card. This is what I call unorganized and a very bad error was made.

Don’t be dumb

The absolute worst credit union I’ve ever dealt with. I have a 724 credit score, 100% on time payments and cannot get approved for an auto loan through Truliant. I will be going back to State Employees credit union immediately.

Imagine you open a CD and are happy…

Imagine you open a CD and are happy since you received a higher rate that anywhere else. Then unbeknownst to you they switch you from paper statements to online only. Then, by the time you realize it has already renewed at a bottom basement rate, they tell you it is too late to do anything about it. This must happen often as they are far too willing to cash out your CD and take a huge chunk for penalties. Better just go to a reputable bank to begin with.

I went up there and made two deposits…

I went up there and made two deposits today one for 1500 and one for 900. I counted before I left my house and before I handed her the money apparently it was $100 short and then whenever I try to tell them to pull up the cameras they said they couldn’t and that a third-party is going to have to look at it, if I don’t look at it myself, they can literally say whatever they want to protect their employees. I understand not showing cameras because you don’t want people to understand how things work in that bank but you just showing me and nothing else in your facility on me counting my money , shouldn’t be that hard but instead they acted like I said that she stole from me. I said I could’ve possibly dropped it just go back to where I was counting the money while I’m counting the money. See if I actually had the 900 in there and if I didn’t, then it would’ve been dropped they couldn’t do nothing for me not having $100. That’s a big deal even if it was 20 that would’ve been a big deal But they did not do I all they did was tell me what the teller told me very not satisfied. Don’t want to keep any money in this bank anymore. If they would’ve showed me or did what I asked, I would’ve felt a lot better about this but definitely feels like they didn’t do anything and this happened at the big Truliant right in front of the mall in Winston if they would’ve handled the situation better I would’ve been happy but as of right now, it feels like if I put in a Bigger amount of money they take some out is what I’m getting from this experience and they won’t show you cameras or do much to make you feel secure

Truliant of America ???

Truliant is no longer the customer-friendly, customer-focused organization that it once was and still claims to be.
As a small business owner I don't have a direct deposit from an employer and over time (15 years as a member) Truliant has become more like the big banks with their fees. This summer a letter went out stating that the minimum account balance had gone up AGAIN. No biggie, I deposited cash, in person, and the employee who did the deposit assured me that I was good to go to avoid fees. Guess what...I wasn't. The balance that I increased was in a savings account while the minimum balance had to be in a checking account and now, months later I discover I've been losing $7.50/month as a result.
I visited them today to get things rectified and after a "back and forth" with a manager who never came out to show his/her face I was told the fees would not be refunded. I closed all my accounts and left.
What a horrible place to keep your money if you're a small biz owner who doesn't have a ton of extra money to just sit in an account.
They should change their name to Truliant of America so their members won't be shocked when they get fee-ed at every turn.

How Margaret Durham Made My Dream Car…

How Margaret Durham Made My Dream Car Purchase Possible on Her Last Day

A heartfelt and enormous thank you to Margaret Durham, Assistant Branch Manager at Truliant Federal Credit Union, for her extraordinary dedication on her very last day, Saturday, April 12, 2025. Despite it being after hours—well past noon—Margaret stayed with me tirelessly until my new car loan for $44,565.24 was fully approved. Her commitment went beyond the call of duty when she insisted I remain in her office so she could personally hand me the check immediately, sparing me the wait until Monday.

Thanks to her exceptional support and determination, I was able to pick up my brand-new 2024 Mercedes-Benz C 300 from the dealer that very same day—a truly rare and miraculous occurrence. This seamless, same-day financing and delivery experience exceeded all expectations and transformed what could have been a stressful process into a moment of genuine joy.

Margaret, your professionalism, kindness, and perseverance made all the difference. Congratulations on your well-deserved promotion to Branch Manager at the Truliant branch in Kernersville, NC. Your leadership and dedication clearly shine through, and I am deeply grateful to have had you by my side during this milestone.

Thank you once again for making this dream come true!

A truly satisfied and grateful customer,

Joseph Todaro

Stay away from Truliant

Stay away from Truliant.
My father, a Truliant member, passed away, and we needed to close his account. After three months of emails, calls, and scanning all required probate information, the final test was to ask my mother questions about account activity in an account to which she had no access. After being unable to answer the questions, they forced me to drive my 80-year-old mother two hours to the closest branch to show the same information and close the account. Lisa, our final phone representative, was rude and uncaring. This lack of support after the death of a loved one placed my family in a horrible situation to endure.

They are so far behind on digital banking!! I asked for a loan with the push of a button and was approved in no time. Ok, now I need the money? Can't wire the money! Why??? Have to mail you a check that takes a week!!!!!! The item is needed yesterday, and you have me waiting a week to get my funds! This is ridiculous and sad! I will be moving all of my banking away from this company very soon!!

Online bill payments not being completed

Is anyone having problems with them not processing online bill pays on the scheduled date? This has happened twice for me since January 2024. OK and has anyone had an issue with truliant on an electronic transfer of a Cd that was supposed to be transferred on the maturity date to my retirement planner to convert to an annuity. My retirement planner submitted all the paperwork to truliant one month before the maturity date. Two weeks after the maturity date, my planner called and said he never got the transfer from truliant. I called truliant and they said the CD rolled over because I never requested them to change the terms.
