Super experience from Becky and instructors

Becky and the team of instructors made the week for our daughter so much fun. She got a great mix of physical activities and arts/crafts, with time to play with friends and make new friendships. Meanwhile we knew she was being well looked after by staff who treated her as an individual and genuinely enjoyed their work.

Thriving

My daughter is enjoying the Camp so much at Camp Dragon, the staff are amazing! She was made to feel so welcome and now she is thriving here. She does many activities every day and comes home happy and ready for a good nights sleep.
Sabrina is a really great camp manager that is always on hand or any issues. The drop off and pick up times are convenient and work around most work days.
Things to remember... Water Bottle....Lunch....Snacks......and Swimwear. I often see parents forget these.

Our children Valentin and Matthieu…

Our children Valentin and Matthieu really enjoyed the camp, with all the activities and the chance to interact with other children. As parents, we appreciated the organisation and the warm welcome. The school grounds were very beautiful.
We would like to thank the English teachers, Mr. Galligan and Ms. Fenessy, for the high standard of their lessons. Valentin particularly enjoyed the English lessons with Mr. Galligan who adapted his teaching to Valentin's level.
We will certainly recommend Ultimate activities to our friends and come back !

Can’t even begin to rate the experience…

Can’t even begin to rate the experience because my child was not allowed to even partake whatsoever and I was given such information on a very passive aggressive email 4 days before.

Because he attended a school outside of the UK while we were stationed at a different country, now he cannot attend camp unless he takes an assessment?! So called assessment is not even fit for a 10yr to answer and I am sure majority of the 10yr they accept would not be able to partake in such assessment.

And no there would be no safeguarding issues because I would not be a delinquent guardian that would send her child to camp if I wasn’t confident that he would be safe and would be able to communicate otherwise.

Coming back home I honestly did not expect for a holiday camp that claims to provide amazing childcare to do this but I guess this is the state of things, children being excluded.

Firstly, let us thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback based on your recent experience and we are truly sorry that it was not as expected.

As a responsible childcare provider, safety is our number one priority.

We welcome hundreds of international children onto camp each year, and it is our responsibility to make sure that children’s level of spoken English is high enough to understand important safety briefings, especially around activities with an inherently higher level of risk such as swimming or archery. Additionally, we need to ensure that a child will be able to communicate their needs with us and let us know if something is not right, they feel unwell or are hurt.

In order to make sure a child’s level of spoken English is high enough we ask for a language assessment. We ask that the child is recorded being asked a series of questions:

1. Tell me about the town or city where you live - what is the climate like, and what is it famous for?
2. Tell me about your favourite subject at school - what is it, what do you learn, and why do you like it?
3. Tell me about a hobby that you like to do - what is it, what do you do when taking part, and why do you like it?
4. Tell me about a film you have watched recently - what happened?

The English level of the child on your booking was set to beginner. Underneath the section where we ask for the language level we do state ‘Please note – children with Beginner or Elementary level English will be required to take Ultimate International English lessons in order to attend camp.’

From our records we see we reached out to you to request the assessment the morning after your booking was made. We have also agreed to extend the deadline of receiving the assessment up to the morning your booking was due to start.

We are very sorry for any upset or disappointment that has been caused and please be reassured our need for the assessment is purely based on our prioritisation of child safety.

Ultimate Activity Camp at Holy Cross Prep

Very easy to book the camps and my kids like it as they are familiar with the school. They love the staff that work at UA. We are always greeted by Marco who always remembers the kids, everyone is very friendly and helpful.

Ultimate Camp Chelmsford poor safeguarding

I am writing this review with a heavy heart, as our son previously attended the Ultimate Camp at New Hall and had a wonderful experience. Unfortunately, his experience this Easter break has been the complete opposite due to a series of distressing incidents that have highlighted significant concerns regarding child safety and safeguarding.

From the first day of camp, our son was subjected to persistent bullying by another child. This included:
Verbal Abuse: Frequent insults regarding his intelligence.
Persistent Torment: Ongoing psychological distress through targeted behaviour.
Physical Assault: This culminated in our son being punched in the stomach.

The situation was visible enough that another parent contacted me to express concern, noting that her own child had come home upset by the treatment our son was receiving.

We raised these issues with the camp manager and requested that the children be kept separated to ensure our son’s safety. We were assured that staff would "keep an eye on him"; however, the physical assault occurred on the very same day this assurance was given.

When we called for clarity regarding the assault and to confirm if the other child would be present on the final day, the camp was unable to provide a definitive answer or a clear safety plan. Consequently, our son requested not to attend his final booked day to avoid further confrontation.

It is deeply disappointing that our son is the one missing out on his activities after a week of being targeted. While we previously held this camp in high regard, the lack of effective intervention and the failure to provide a safe environment after specific warnings are major concerns.

I believe there have been significant safeguarding failings in this instance, and I feel it is important for other parents to be aware of how these situations are managed. We hope the organisation takes this feedback seriously to ensure no other child has a similar experience.

Ultimate Activity Camp St. Gabriel

Staff were very incredibly welcoming to two friends who were anxious about attending for the first time. Lots of different activities and new friends made by the end of the day. My daughter has already asked when she can go back!

We think the ultimate activity camp is the very best! We’ve tried other experiences, and they’ve fallen far short. We feel that is down to the staff at our location (Faringdon, St. Hugh’s). They are warm, knowledgeable, fun, and willing to work with campers on an individual level to help provide an outstandingly positive experience.

We will definitely come back

This was the first time our son attended holiday camp ever, and with Ultimate activity Camps and LVS Ascot. He loves all of the activities, especially swimming. Pick ups and drop offs are very easy, location is great. We look forward to signing him up for Easter and Summer

Cheryl and her team are wonderful

Cheryl and her team are absolutely wonderful in Faringdon. Always so kind and caring, but also highly organised and professional. The children have lots of activities and have grown in confidence. I’m never worried to leave them there and they are always happy to come back. It is always better to book with an offer to keep the cost down. Thanks.

My daughter was excited to go back for October Half-Term after going for the first time in the summer holidays.
It was the only camp she was happy to attend after trying quite a few. The staff really make it and I feel confident leaving her knowing she is happy and safe.

Happy and glorious!

We were very lucky to have had such a dedicated and Ultimate(ly) happy team looking after our two daughters at Dean Close camp. Each day(of five), they arrived excited, they left happy, and at home were suitably exhausted from their wonderful daily pursuits. Thank you Becky and all the team. See you next time!

Wonderful experiences

Our 8 year old twin boys spent a week at the Ultimate Activity Camp in Ascot and a week at the one in Cheltenham. Both experiences were absolutely wonderful. The level of kindness, professionalism and thoughtfulness was really impressive. Everyone we dealt with, from admin to camp counselors, really cared about our children, their well being and happiness. Highly recommend.
