VIU: Very quick to take your money, but nowhere to be found when you actually need help.
My experience with Valencia International University (VIU) has been extremely disappointing, particularly regarding student support and administrative services.
The admission process is remarkably easy, and the enrolment advisors are incredibly friendly and helpful — until you pay your tuition fees. After that, good luck getting any meaningful assistance. I never heard from my advisor again.
Whenever you need to resolve an issue, you find yourself dealing with a completely disorganised customer service system. Nobody takes responsibility for your case, there is no proper follow-up, and every person you contact gives you a different, often contradictory, answer.
The documentation and degree certificates department is particularly appalling. VIU appears to have outsourced part of its administrative support to a company called ACTIVA. Different agents send emails without even checking what their colleagues have previously communicated about the exact same issue. Their responses are generic, repetitive and completely lacking in actual solutions.
It genuinely feels as though ACTIVA's purpose is to keep students busy exchanging endless emails rather than resolving their requests.
*Another concerning issue is the handling of negative Google reviews.*
I have serious concerns about the disappearance of low-rated reviews and the authenticity of some of the positive feedback published online. Prospective students deserve transparency and access to genuine, unfiltered experiences from other students.
I find it difficult to understand how a university accredited by ANECA can provide such an appalling level of administrative service and student support.
A university should not be judged solely on its academic programmes, but also on how it treats students after collecting their tuition fees.
*My conclusion:* VIU makes enrolling and paying extremely easy, but when you actually need assistance, accountability and professionalism seem to disappear.
I would strongly encourage prospective students to think twice before enrolling. My experience has been nothing short of frustrating.
