Housing letter

I was in need of a letter, doctors was a waiting time of 3 weeks which unfortunately wasn’t quick enough so I found Updoc online, wasn’t too sure what to expect as I’ve never done this before. Filled out my form, within an all round maximum of 15 minutes, I filled the form out, answered questions and the document was sent to me! Fast, professional and an over all great experience!

Struggling to get prescription after it’s been approved.

It’s a more complicated process if you are in rural wales. Boots wouldn’t accept the email because of their security, and even though updoc have reached out to me to try and resolve this so I can get my prescription from another chemist. I didn’t realise it would be a stressful process and as I have CFS/ME and didn’t want to drive around trying to find a chemist that would accept the email confirmation from updoc, I have abandoned trying to get the prescription for now. Updoc do want to try and help me but I just don’t have the capacity at the moment to try and jump through the hoops trying to resolve it, so am waiting to see my gp and using some old medication.
I think the service is probably much smoother in England, and our system here in wales isn’t updocs fault; or it coukd just be a problem with boots chemist.

Dear Rachel,

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience, and we're really sorry for the stress and inconvenience you faced while trying to collect your prescription. We completely understand how frustrating it is when you’re unwell and just need your medication without delays.

We wanted to clarify that when you reached out to our support team, we responded within a few hours and worked with you to get the issue resolved as quickly as possible. We also looked into the Boots dispensing error you mentioned, and once this was reversed you let us know that it appeared to have been a mistake on their end. Our team followed up again afterward to check everything was fully sorted, but didn’t receive a reply, so we're hoping that meant you were finally able to collect your medication without further trouble.

If that’s not the case, or if you’re still experiencing any difficulty at all, please let us know. We’d be more than happy to contact the pharmacy on your behalf or arrange an alternative way for you to receive your prescription smoothly.

We genuinely appreciate your feedback, especially about rural pharmacy access, and we’re always working to improve the experience for everyone. We're here to help if you need anything further.

Kind regards,
Updoc Support

Dear Boshir,

We're very sorry to hear about your experience. We understand how frustrating unexpected charges can be, and we take these concerns seriously.

The vast majority of our users have a smooth and seamless experience with their subscriptions. To ensure transparency, we provide detailed information during product selection and payment, including confirming the subscription with your explicit consent. Our terms, billing cycle, and subscription model are clearly outlined at sign-up and reinforced in a confirmation email immediately after activation.

We’d also like to clarify that when you contacted us to cancel, our team responded straightaway and immediately processed both the cancellation and a full refund as a goodwill act, as you hadn’t made use of any Updoc Plus services during that period.

Thank you for your understanding.

Misleading service.

My own fault for maybe not reading into this service properly however it is quite misleading.

Paid £45 for the one off as I’ve got a parasite infection from travelling from the Caribbean. Paid the money and went to the pharmacy to be told the medication would be £230 unless covered by insurance. It should be made clearer that this is a private prescription and not an NHS one. I imagine most people using the service are using it for emergency purposes and not reading the small print before going ahead. When you’re given the three options at checkout there should be some sort of disclaimer.

If I had realised this was the case I would have waited until the weekend was over to speak directly to my GP to get the prescription.

I imagine this service is great if you have lots of money however not sustainable for the average person.

Dear Sami,

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience, and we’re genuinely sorry for the stress and frustration this situation has caused you. We completely understand how worrying it is to deal with a health concern after travelling, and how difficult it can feel to face unexpected medication costs on top of that.

To clarify, all prescriptions issued through our service are private, and medication prices are set independently by each pharmacy. Your feedback on how we communicate this is extremely valuable, and we’ll be working to improve how this information is presented so it’s clearer for future users.

We’re truly sorry that the process didn’t meet your expectations, and we understand how disappointing that must have been. If there’s anything you’d like us to check or any further support we can offer, please feel free to reach out.

Avoid at all costs - unusable sick notes and they will not cancel your subscription

The letter they sent was completely unprofessional and my manager (who's partner is a gp) actually laughed and said there wasn't a chance the letter would be accepted by my company. Luckily they were understanding of my situation so it didn't cause a problem however please be aware these are NOT GENUINE sick notes. Updoc also refuses to cancel your subscription, I've been contacting frequently over the last month and they are flat out refusing to cancel my subscription. Freezing your card doesn't even stop the payment coming out. They keep saying I need a link to cancel (there is no way to cancel via their website) which I don't have and they are refusing to resend. Going to have to escalate via my bank

Hi Lael,

We have reviewed your case and can confirm that you had a consultation through our platform in late July this year. However, we found no record of any attempts from you to contact us regarding the document, such as submitting an amendment request if you were not fully satisfied with the content. Likewise, there are no emails or messages requesting a subscription cancellation under the account used to place your order.

We would really like to help resolve this for you. Please reach out to us directly at contact@updoc.uk, confirming the email address you used to create your account, and we will be glad to assist further with your subscription cancellation.

Our platform has successfully supported many individuals in obtaining medical letters, including sick leave letters, in collaboration with Partner Doctors. These letters have helped numerous employees communicate effectively with their employers.

It is important to review your employer’s sick leave policy to ensure they accept your doctor’s advice. We encourage you to share the contents of your letter and your Partner Doctor's recommendations with them. If any changes are needed to meet your employer’s requirements, we can raise an amendment request with your Partner Doctor, who will review and accept it where appropriate. These are typically resolved within a few hours.

Please do not hesitate to contact us. We are here to make sure you receive the support and outcome you need.
