Terrible
Terrible. Even without the always trying to grab money and conning you into upgrading when you don't want or need to the platform is really cumbersome and frustrating to use.
Reply to Reply: You'd have to alter your whole editing model to bring it into line to what people are used to, then make it work.

Awful! Money snatchers & bad comms
Terrible platform. My experience: Charge you a monthly membership to send their required number of emails, then if you import your contacts they flag it as spam, block your emails sending, still charge you the money and when you request a refund, they drag it out for days and refuse without justifying the reason.

I have been with MailChimp for nearly…
I have been with MailChimp for nearly 18 years. However, a few years back they introduced forced two-factor authentication and twice in the past 12 months this has cost me thousands is lost sales.
You see, MailChimp, unlike more professional companies, which, when they need to send you a code, give the option of receiving it by text or email. However, the Chimpanzees only allow two-factor authentication by text. The Chimpanzees seem to believe that everyone keeps the same phone and phone number foreverrrrrrrrrrr.
These Chimpanzees refuse to take into account that nearly everyone will at some point either lose their phone or have it stolen or the phone will at sometime become damaged and cannot receive texts.
I had my phone stolen last year,, and I was locked out of my MailChimp for nearly a month. More professional companies have a customer service that can be contacted by phone or email, but not the Chimpanzees.
Once again I lost my phone this weekend and am now locked out of my account. I goggled how to contact MailChimp customers service if you lose your phone and cannot receive the two-factor authentication.
Chimpanzees have a solution. They say: if you have lost your phone and cannot receive the two-factor authentication. You should reach out to Mailchimp support If you need to get in touch with the recovery team. You can send a request using the Mailchimp Account Recovery Contact Form.
How do I request to the Mailchimp Account Recovery Contact Form, you may ask? The Chimpanzees say log into your account (the account you are locked out of) and complete the recovery contact form. So to log into your account you must first input the code they sent to your lost phone.
The Chimpanzees hide the recovery contact form you need to complete to get back into your account, on the account that you are locked out of.
The Chimpanzees also have a live customer service to help you get back into the account you are locked out of. However, you can only contact their customer service to gain access to the account you are locked out of by accessing the account that you are lock out of.
I am fast coming to believe that only real Chimpanzees could have created such a stupid and unusable customer service.
As a MailChimp customer of over 18 years, my advise is do not use MailChimp, the service has become terrible in the past few years. At sometime you will lose your phone, have it stolen or it will break. Then you will be locked our of your MailChimp account. They will not help you but will still continue to charge your bank account. I think it is time for me to ditch the Chimpanzees and move to a professional service such as MailerLite.
UPDATE: MailChimp replied to the above review:
Here is my reply to them -
Dear MailChimp
Thank you for supplying your highly secret customer account recovery contact email. Are you not a little worried that some of your other pissed-off, customers may see this highly secret customer contact email here and start using it?
This morning after four days trying to find a way to contact MailChimp customer account recovery service by email. I found this contact your account recovery email contect.
I was so happy, and I emailed it straight away. However, I then received an email saying – This email address is no longer monitored.
They supplied a link telling me to fill in the recovery form. However, the link takes me to the standard login page, not to a recovery form page. It tells me to gain access to my account, in need to log into the account that I cannot gain access to because I cannot receive the security code by SIM because I lost my phone.
I cannot believe that your solution is to tell me to fill in the recovery form by logging into my account that I am locked out of. This is dumb. If I could log into my account, I would not need to fill in a recovery form to gain access to my account. I am becoming convinced that your customer service is run by your competition possible the great company MailerLite.
This can be the only logical reason why your customer service goes to such great lengths to piss your customers off, block them contecting your customer service and actualy drive them to other services such as Mailerlite.
I am right now going to try to contact your customer recovery services on the highly secret customer contact email you supplied here.
I will report back on the results tomorrow.

Zero stars for customer service!
We are locked out of our account and nobody from Mailchimp has bothered to reply to multiple requests for help. When I went to sales they replied straight away though because they thought we were new customers!!! But then refused to put us in touch with the appropriate department who could resolve our issue. Looking for an alternative. Do not use Mailchimp would be my advice.

Mailchimp is a complete scam
Mailchimp is a complete scam. I purchased the Standard package and within 42 hours my account was suddenly locked without any reason or notice. After login, I only see “Your login is not associated with any Mailchimp accounts, would you like to create a new one?” which is impossible for users to fix. Very poor support, waste of money, and no proper refund assistance.

What a mistake!
What a mistake!! We chose Mailchimp for our school system about 5 years ago and we have several accounts.
Earlier this week, my email was hacked and Maichimp deactivated my account! I explained what occurredvia email (5 times) and on the phone (3 times), and I had a major campaign that was supposed to go out this morning, but they haven't responded or reinstated it yet. All my contacts are stuck in Mailchimp, my campaign, that needed to go out today is frozen also, and I can't even log into my account since it's deactivated!! Just infuriating incompetence. We will be switching all of our accounts to a company with actual customer service.

MailChimp no longer works reliably
MailChimp no longer works reliably. I made a copy of my last campaign and it was blank. So I made another copy and made a couple of edits and was not done yet and Mailchimp sent the email anyway. I did not hit send or even go to the screen where you can send it. Beware, Mailchimp no longer works reliably.

Critical: Account Blocked
Critical: Account Blocked with Zero Support During Business Hours
Mailchimp blocked our account Tuesday afternoon due to a suspicious login from Dubai. While security measures are understandable, their response was catastrophic.
We received an alert email at 10:30 AM. Our marketing team immediately confirmed the Dubai IP was legitimate and replied the same day. Mailchimp never responded to our confirmation.
By Tuesday 2:00 PM, our account was locked. We discovered the next morning that our connected Mandrill account (transactional emails) was also suspended without any notification. For 24 hours, we couldn't send booking confirmations, payment confirmations, or travel information to customers—critical for a hospitality business.
The real problem: Support access is only available through the blocked account. We couldn't reach anyone. The website chatbot is useless—it just loops you back to login. Our team called the only phone number available and waited 4 hours to speak to someone who told us they couldn't help and would respond to our email in 1-4 business days.
One to four days is not an acceptable response time for a service that handles all transactional communications. We lost 24 hours of emails stuck in Mandrill's queue that we cannot recover.
We've since migrated to another provider. Mailchimp is not reliable for mission-critical email infrastructure.

Horrible cancellation policy
Horrible cancellation policy! Do not waste your time with this company. Better find a new modern company that actually care about the customer, not trying to just collect as much money as possible.

Subscribed for free period thru shopify, cancelled subscription several days after and was billed today. Their tech support says i had to make second cancellation thru their site where i have never been before. Nonsense.

Overall good experience and easy to use
We mostly use mailchimp as an email template builder and for small list email blasts. over the last 5 years it has worked pretty well for us

Horrific on every level
Horrific on every level. And no help. Followed their advice, my list has separated, cannot get it back and no assistance. Mailchimp has literally RUINED 14 year worth of mailing list. You cannot get help from a human and on email they say 'they cannot help' but offer advice - if you are not technical mailchimp is a nightmare, stay clear.

No matter what we try, this site won't verify our website. As a result, everything bounces. Pointless.
