Completely Misleading "5-Star" Holiday and Terrible Customer Servicehat was advertised as a…
I paid for what was advertised as a 5-star holiday in Turkey, but what I received was nowhere near a 5-star experience. I honestly feel misled and extremely disappointed.
From the moment we arrived, it was clear that the accommodation did not match what had been promised. There was no WiFi functional, no pool available-maintenance supposingly, and the overall condition of the hotel was unacceptable. We found stains on carpets, lamps, and other furnishings, giving the entire place a neglected and dirty appearance. To make matters worse, there was a cemetery directly in front of the property, something that was never made clear during the booking process.
The biggest disappointment was not even the hotel itself, but the complete lack of support when we tried to get help. We complained immediately while still on holiday. The regional manager ignored our attempts to contact them and never provided any assistance. We then called the emergency number provided by Vakantie Discounter, expecting at least some help or an alternative solution. Nothing happened. We were left to deal with the situation ourselves despite paying a significant amount of money for a holiday that was clearly not as advertised.
After returning to the Netherlands, I submitted a detailed complaint by email, including all the issues we experienced. The response from Vakantie Discounter was simply an apology. No real investigation, no accountability, no compensation, and no genuine effort to put things right. A simple "sorry" is not an acceptable response when customers spend their hard-earned money on a holiday that fails to meet the promised standards.
What frustrates me most is the feeling that once the booking is paid for, customer service disappears when problems arise. A company should stand behind the holidays it sells and support customers when things go wrong. In my case, I felt abandoned both during the trip and after returning home.
I would strongly recommend that future customers carefully verify hotel reviews and not rely solely on the descriptions provided. Based on my experience, I have completely lost trust in Vakantie Discounter and would not book with them again.
Misleading advertising, poor accommodation, no effective support, and no meaningful resolution after the complaint. Very disappointing experience. ★☆☆☆☆

We willen echter wel graag een belangrijk punt uit je review nuanceren. Het is niet zo dat wij je klacht enkel met een verontschuldiging hebben afgesloten of dat wij hier verder niets mee doen. Je klacht is nog steeds bij ons in behandeling en wij wachten momenteel op een inhoudelijke reactie van onze partner.
We begrijpen dat je graag sneller duidelijkheid had ontvangen. Helaas kunnen wij niet zomaar een inhoudelijk oordeel geven zonder de betrokken partij de gelegenheid te geven de gemelde punten te onderzoeken en hierop te reageren. Vanwege de drukte in het hoogseizoen duurt deze afhandeling momenteel helaas langer dan wij zelf ook zouden willen. Onze excuses hiervoor.
Zodra wij de reactie van onze partner hebben ontvangen, zullen wij je klacht verder beoordelen en uiteraard inhoudelijk bij je terugkomen.
We vinden het jammer dat door de langere wachttijd de indruk is ontstaan dat je klacht niet serieus wordt genomen. Dat is zeker niet het geval.

Misleading photos & false advertising – Do not trust the website!
Very disappointing experience for an official 4-star hotel. There is a huge discrepancy between what is advertised online and reality:
No Wellness Center: The listing advertises a pool/sauna/wellness area, but staff explicitly informed us upon arrival that it does NOT exist at all.
Empty Rooftop: The website shows a furnished rooftop garden, but in reality, it is completely abandoned and unusable.
Room & AC Issues: Our initial room had a poorly functioning AC. While they eventually moved us to another room after we complained, it doesn't make up for the missing hotel amenities.
Giving 1 star for misleading information and false claims. Photos online do not reflect reality.

Ja, wij hebben dit DIRECT gemeld bij zowel het hotel als bij jullie klantenservice!
Het hotel gaf zelf toe dat de wellness helemaal NIET bestaat (valse reclame) en heeft ons vanwege de kapotte airco naar een andere kamer verplaatst. Daarnaast heb ik alle fotobewijzen en details al per e-mail naar jullie klantenservice gestuurd (Boekingsnummer: v263245840)
Tot op heden heb ik nog steeds geen inhoudelijke reactie of financiële compensatie ontvangen voor de ontbrekende faciliteiten. Ik wacht nog steeds op een passende oplossing!

Tranfer cancelled without informing customer
Dear company, we demand to fix issue of our reservation V263170637. Ticket #4540265 - transfer. Our trasfer is removed from reservation without any confirmation from your side and now we don't have any way to get from airport to the hotel. Please provide the transport as agreed and payed for, we are now underway to Barcelona and expect the solution from the holiday company when your processes fail!

The most awful customer service
The most awful customer service. I want to change my traveling date, my emails were ignored for weeks. I called and then received a new price at 5:02 pm, the next day I accepted the price at 8:42 am. No response so I called them again a couple of days later to confirm. To my surprise nobody communicated to TUI and the price went massively up to which I said that I agreed to one price and that's the one I will pay. The customer service started being rude to the point she said that if I responded thar same day, maybe this wouldn't happen. Mind you I got the email at 5:02pm and responded at 8:42 am the next day. I'm still fighting to have a decent vacation and they just won't correct their mistake. Never again with vakantiediscounter. Verschrikkelijke ervaring.

Misleading accommodation description
Misleading accommodation description – booked through VakantieDiscounter NL.
My wife, our respective elderly mothers, and I booked an apartment at Gocce di Capri through VakantieDiscounter based on the description of a "two-room apartment." We reasonably understood this to mean two separate bedrooms.
Unfortunately, when we arrived, we discovered that the second "room" was actually the combined living room and kitchen, meaning my wife and I had to sleep on a sofa bed (which was uncomfortable) while our elderly mothers had to share a double bed.
Before travelling, we had specifically been told that the apartment would have a double bed for us and two single beds for our mothers. Although apartments with this layout do exist at Gocce di Capri, VakantieDiscounter booked us into one that did not match what had been described, and the hotel was unwilling to move us to suitable accommodation.
I want to make it clear that most of the staff and the cleaning team at Gocce di Capri were excellent—friendly, helpful, and hardworking. Unfortunately, the manager was not accommodating, despite the obvious mismatch between what had been promised and what we received.
Because of this experience, I will never book through VakantieDiscounter again. And despite the wonderful staff, I would also not return to Gocce di Capri.
Additional note, following VakantieDiscounter's response:
We did contact VakantieDiscounter and its local affiliates on the day of our arrival, and their respective representatives did nothing to help us resolve the situation.
The fact that you have no record of these conversations says a great deal about VakantieDiscounter's internal organisation and record-keeping, rather than what actually happened.

Dirty toilet, poor service first night
We are currently here first night and i couldn’t be more disappointed! Toilet is dirty, finger prints everywhere like it wasn’t really properly cleaned. Food at the main hall disappointing, no one cares and asks you for drinks. The only good thing was the person who helped us checked in. I thought this is a 5 star hotel, i have never seen a 5 star hotel with dirty toilet ever. I cant recommend this hotel
