Avoid vision

I want to write a review from a slightly different angle-from someone who worked as a subcontractor for vision for 2 weeks in 2024-that
was all I could handle.
I have nearly 30 years experience working in construction as a carpenter, both on the tools and as a contractor whereby l've built up long standing working relationships with some of the best building contractors around Cambridge and still do work for them today, so feel I'm more than qualified to assess high quality and low quality work practices within the construction industry.
I've also previously worked as a contracts manager for a large carpentry contracting firm, whereby I was tasked with over seeing the day to day management of building over 600 houses per year. I was responsible for the labour scheduling of up to 40 carpenters across 15 sites covering north London, east Anglia and into Hertfordshire.
The first day on a vision job I was tasked with listening to a poor lady who was on the verge of having a minor breakdown due to the way she had been treated by francesco baressi, the owner of vision design and build Cambridge and recently vcc Cambs Ltd. Francesco had taken large sums of money up front of her then essentially abandoned her project for 12 months.
The organisation on the sites is non existent with the people who were supposed to be in charge clearly having zero construction knowledge themselves. Zero. But then I suppose that matches work progress.
The other trades were essentially apprentices who were all way out of their depth and should not have been given the tasks they were given, which in my opinion sometimes bordered on dangerous.
I routinely heard the same narrative-franco has taken money then disappeared. I heard from one lady client that he had got aggressive with her when she refused to pay him more money, even though zero work progress had happened since the last payment. Needless to say I didn't get paid for the 2 weeks work that I did. When I attempted to contact franco to discuss why the non payment and if there were any problems he refused to even take a phone call or the offer to meet on site. Franco gets aggressive towards women yet refuses to meet the men he's stolen from-just think about that for a few moments to work out the sort of person you're dealing with.
The offer is still there franco to meet with me but I know you're too much of a coward, hiding away in your locked office stealing hard earned money from innocent people. Franco is nothing short of a narcissistic pathological liar who has zero construction knowledge. Do not have anything to do with him or any of his companies.
I mentioned it to my accountant who looked through his previous filings and he recommended I report him to hmrc for potential money laundering and tax evasion by using dormant companies to hide debt in, hence not paying subcontractors, which I have. Imo he is robbing people and running something close to a Ponzi scheme, probably due to his own incompetence and running over budget on jobs due to the apprentice labour who weren't qualified or experienced enough to even perform the simplest tasks, then the new projects and capital, now funding the previous projects. The actual tradesmen and women are just normal people who are trying to do a good job, and I hope they leave and find a good firm to work for to build their experience and careers.
Francesco baressi should be reported to trading standards and probably even some sort of legal entity.
I would imagine francos behaviour could probably be linked to the fact that he's 5'4" and skinnier than a whippets di*k. It's called napoleon complex. Look it up franco

Use Vision if you enjoy: delays, substandard work, broken promises, missing padstones, no plans on site etc etc etc

I used Vision for a project and it was nothing but an unmitigated disaster. i think some of the reviews refer to the owner as a pathological liar, and i wholeheartedly agree. Also an extremely agressive one when questioned and challenged. Even to the point of threatening me with legal action when he was in the wrong - amazing. i am not scared of such cowards, so i didn't back down but many people would be scared. the guys on site couldn't measure straight, brickwork was wonky, foundations were't dug correctly so a main steel holding half the house missed the pad (thankfully i noticed and it was corrected), lintels were missing padstones, roofs were built incorrectly, structural stud was not done properly and used cheap wood instead, the house was not covered so water got in the whole house and we had to completely replaster the whole house. it was amazing they actually got anything built as there were never up to date plans on site either. Thankfully i was in rented accommodation round the corner so was there everyday making sure it was being built to plan some weeks nothing happened By the time the project was about 30% done i had invoices for about 80% of the work.... Also one of my neighbours commented on the strange smell while contractors were smoking...... Dishonest isn't a strong enough word - there were many attempts to change stuff specified in the drawings for cheaper alternatives and when questioned i was told they hadn't priced for it (in a very agressive way). If you google vision, what comes up is below and pretty much sums it up. i think the positive reviews are all fake, as the reviews for Vision are either 1 star or 5 stars. Avoid at all costs.

Contractors and labourers were always complaining that they weren't being paid so a truly awful all round company.

Disturbingly bad management of the…

Disturbingly bad management of the Graphite Square project in Vauxhall, SE11.

Constant dust over cars and into nearby residents homes and local businesses due to lack of dust suppression - something they should be organising as members of the Considerate Construction scheme.

And now a major brick wall collapse across a public street that a man and child had walked along moments earlier. Fortunately Lambeth Council have now launched an investigation into their management of this matter.

Residents are constantly having to report bad practices to the council and Considerate Construction scheme. When will this company start acting professionally?

They create shoddy buildings

They create shoddy buildings, they then dissolve shell companies to avoid obligations of warranty or maintenance. The staff are rude and tell you lies (expired warranty etc, despite proof) and also try to dodge the warranty claims by saying it's not covered without even knowing the issue.
