Quick service so cannot dispute that however £200 deducted from the agreed price seems very harsh - for a 2 year old phone there were no deep scratches on face and general scratches you would expect - shame but guess it was always going to be a let down

£54 for your phone, actually ... how about £8?
Quoted £54 for my phone, which i logged with them as faulty.
The fault is, it has a cracked screen.
They came back and offered me £8 stating faults:
"Beyond Economical Repair - Parts Value, Multiple faults found, Fault(s): No Display, LCD Dead,LCD Dead,No Display ,Unable to refurbish LCD"
Why LCD dead is logged twice, I'm not sure. It doesn't have a liquid crystal display. It has an AMOLED display. But, further more, it isn't dead, it powers on, you can navigate menus. The screen is cracked which under their "faulty" description allows for a cracked screen.
They upped the offer to £28.
I declined.

Firstly, you were correct to select the Faulty condition due to the cracked screen. However, our terms and conditions explain that faults affecting the LCD/display may be subject to a revaluation. This includes issues such as screen burn, pressure marks, white spots, discolouration, or dead pixels, which can become visible when viewing a white screen. You can read more about screen burn here.

Although the device powers on and you can hear sounds, our testing identified additional issues beyond the cracked screen. When the device was initially opened, the display was not functioning correctly. The screen subsequently remained completely black, despite the device powering on and producing sound.
This means the device has multiple faults, including No Display and a non-functioning display, rather than just the cracked screen. As the display is not working and the device would require a complete screen replacement before it could be refurbished and resold, it has been assessed as Beyond Economical Repair – Parts Value.
We understand that the device powers on, but the display fault and additional issues mean it does not meet the full Faulty condition criteria. This is why we have had to adjust the valuation to reflect the current condition and the cost of the required repairs.
We appreciate that this is disappointing, and we hope this explanation helps clarify the reasons behind the revised offer.

Devaluing items falsely
Edited to add: the paperwork confirmation on my account actually states they have quoted £410 for poor condition compared to the paperwork I received with the postage pack which states good condition so the whole system seems to be a shambles.
Terrible experience. Went on all the positive reviews on here but not my experience at all.
Quoted £410 for a ‘good’ condition phone. Always had a case and screen protector on and only 2 years old. Had valuation back at £316 stating there were scratches on the screen and a mark on the back housing. The good condition T&Cs state no deep scratches and no marks visible from 30cm away and it had neither of these. I took photos before sending.
They only offer to accept or have the phone returned so I’ve sent a contact form explaining that their valuation is disingenuous as the phone was probably in better condition than their ‘good’ descriptor.
Will await their response but not hopeful. Definitely avoid and go with a more reputable company.

£412 Quoted, £216 Offered – Very Disappointing
I was initially quoted £412 for my old phone, but after sending it in, the offer was reduced to just £216 because of the tiniest scratch on the screen.
I had described the phone as being in “good condition”, not “excellent”, so I was disappointed that such a minor mark resulted in the offer being cut by almost half. I’ve genuinely seen phones with much more noticeable damage being sold on Vinted for around £400.
I decided to accept the reduced offer because I had already sent the phone in and wanted the process resolved there and then, but I can’t say I was happy with the outcome. The reduction felt very disproportionate to the condition of the phone and the size of the scratch.
The process itself was straightforward, but the huge difference between the original £412 quote and the final £216 offer has left me disappointed. I think the grading and deductions could be much fairer and more transparent.

Not had the best experience with selling phones online. They either go missing or they don’t follow through on the quote even though I’m very truthful regarding the current condition of the phone. This time I sent it off, 24hours later the money was in my bank! No hassle at all
