Weekend Break White Horse hotel. Romsey

This historic hotel provided a comfortable two night stay, but lost a higher rating for failing to service the room. The bed was not made, nor was the tea/coffee etc replenished. This was unacceptable for a full-service hotel.

Please don’t bother going here for Afternoon Tea

We booked ‘Afternoon Tea’ for a close family member’s 90th birthday. Whilst the setting was extremely pleasant, the tea itself was quite frankly not acceptable. The photographs on their website make it look fantastic, which is why we chose it but…..
The teapots which were huge contained just one tea bag, we had to ask for more to add to the pots. The crustless sandwiches were large, crustless and the bread was very dry, the fillings very mean and ordinary. The scones, which had fruit in the them were so dry that the clotted cream had to be used generously to render them edible. I would five five stars for just the clotted cream. The cakes were quite frankly awful, absolutely not what should have been provided for a £25/head tea. I would not recommend here for afternoon tea.
