Frustrating experience

Absolutely frustrating experience with no help in sight. From day one their team gave me conflicting information about my insurance coverage, then kept passing me around with no real answers or solutions. I ended up paying out of pocket for treatments I was told would be covered, and every attempt to get a clear explanation felt like hitting a wall. Communication is slow, confusing, and often nonexistent — not something you want when dealing with sensitive healthcare issues. Save yourself the headache and look elsewhere

WIN is a Giant Headache

WIN has been nothing but a headache throughout this entire process. Had the wrong insurance to see my previous fertility doctor, so I waited until open enrollment to change. Now WIN says I can use the service. Start seeing my doctor, and submit a claim after having a hysterocopy for reimbursement (a benefit that was provided through my work). Only less than 24 hours later, it’s denied because it’s not seen as “necessary” (sticking a camera in my uterus to see if a healthy pregnancy was possible isn’t necessary? Yeah, okay). I submitted a request for a medication for fertility treatments. No one gets back to me for several days, and when they do, two voicemails are left: first one saying I would have to pay out of pocket for the medication, and then a second voicemail 3 minutes later saying ‘Oh you MAY have coverage but you you need to call to explain’. Call ‘em up (took several HOURS because the number they gave me was out of office for the weekend and a bunch of automated chat messages later) and I had to PLEA MY CASE on why I needed the medications. They then said they sent the medications over, and I never heard back from anyone about it.

Fast forward to today. I submitted several more claims for out of pocket expenses for medications after not hearing back from WIN for medications (again, understanding it would be reimbursed by my work benefit). Within an HOUR, they call to tell me that they do not and will not reimburse at all. When asked what they DO do, they “work with your insurance and review costs associated with infertility treatments and determine if they will cover those costs”.

So, nothing. If they DO do anything, they are essentially a middle man. A patient needs to submit their work through WIN and HOPE they work with your insurance to get the help you need.

Save yourself a headache. They’re brokers, middle men, insurance bureaucrats who lack a single empathetic bone in their body. Their app is confusing and useless, their people the same.

I’ve already filed a grievance through work, and if your company suggests them, I’d heed otherwise.

Awful, just awful.

Like someone else wrote, if I could give them ZERO stars, I would - it's a damn shame this isn't an option. What already is a stressful time, is quadrupled by WinFertility. It was not my choice to go with them but rather, through the company I work at, the only way to use the benefits. I still do not understand how they are controlling the funds - and truth be told, they just deny a lot so I'm forever still paying out of pocket. I don't get it and it's an absolute joke to say the least. I also don't understand how the company I work for did not do their research. Why oh God why they came to chose WinFertility is beyond me. It's been hell and with half the treatments being denied, never mind some of the medicines, it's just been a brutal experience. And then their there is there app which is an absolute joke. It does not function properly and gives very little information (and going online, lol - you can't view anything once you sign in - everything is unclickable). They also only communicate via phone so good luck with that. But don't give in, just stay on the line - trust me - they won't call you back. It's just been a terribly frustrating sad experience. Too many tears. I will never recommend this company. Never.

Malicious company

I am convinced this malicious company is used by insurers to obfuscate and frustrate the entire process so that they don't have to provide the benefits they promised they would. If your employer is offering you a fertility benefit through this company, then know it is a sham and you will be on the hook for the cost of the treatment.

I would give this 0 star if I could

I would give this 0 star if I could. They can't even locate me in the system to start with when my insurance and company's insurance plan clearly states that Winfertility should come with my medical insurance. I called and they just said oh we'll escalate to another team to look into why and will get back to you within 2, 3 days and I never heard back. I had to call my insurnace again who reached out to them again and they still haven't looked into it. Like what is there for you guys to do when it's that hard for you to find your patients.

Former employee

Former employee - Great nurses, IT dept and customer service team. Company does a wonderful job helping patients. BUT - Director of nursing - Depends on who you talk with! FL and CT (where WIN is based) are 'work at will' states. But still does not excuse the Director from firing, with NO warning, NO explanation until I pushed for it. She stated she had no time to talk about it and should have been in a meeting instead of the call (then PLAN better!!!!). Something about taking a different direction, blah blah - All BS!!! Lost health insurance the NEXT DAY-They planned that well! And this is after working there 4 years. No working with employees for them. They frown upon verbalizing yourself, and watch out if you ask a question, crisis!!! HR is horrible. Not allowed to suggest ways to improve their processes, no transparency, lots of secrecy. No room for advancement. One RN Mgr and one RN Supervisor quit within 1 week of each other a few months ago-Nobody really knows why, but both got better jobs!!! Lots of current employees are shocked and angry with how it occurred and the behavior of the Director, also scared for their own jobs. Good luck to all potential employees!

Do not believe anything they tell you

Do not believe anything they tell you. Almost nothing is actually covered. They say that you have money to be spent on ANYTHING fertility related, but they don't cover imaging, or consultations, or testing, or half of the procedures. Fertility is such a difficult subject and all they did was make it harder and more painful. Expect to pay the full price of everything and maybe you'll be pleasantly surprised by your costs.

Considering one of their nurses

Considering one of their nurses, Lindsey, and her husband Reece brutally assaulted an elderly couple resulting in their hospitalization I can’t imagine how any patient would be safe. She did that on camera mine what she does behind doors. 😳

Horrible! Phone reps have no idea how to explain things

I didn't get a chance to actually use them because they took 6 months to finally explain to me that I wouldn't need to use their services anyway. Their communication skills are so poor! They kept telling me to register with them and that I would use their services once my insurance benefits are exhausted. Six months later, when I was still trying to figure out how Win works, and I had finally an IVF protocol spelled out with my clinic, a senior Win manager I insisted on speaking with finally told me there were actually TWO requirements to qualify working with Win as a patient, and that the phone reps ought to have explained that better to me. Turns out, I had to have exhausted my insurance benefits AND in addition I had to be starting my SECOND cycle. They said they don't work with people who are insured if they are attempting their FIRST cycle. What a waste of my time as I juggle all of the various balls for starting IVF. I can't believe the owners/executives behind Win don't care enough to at least make sure the phone scripts used by their useless customer service reps are ACCURATE for something as basic as properly explaining the basic process. If they are that bad at the very start of the process, I can only imagine how terrible they must be during the actual fertility/pricing/billing/payment process.

Terrible company! They cover maybe 1-2 things for IVF. If you're thinking of going through IVF and have winfertility, reconsider right now! You think you save money, but no. They also are terrible at customer service, offering no help whatsoever. So, unless you're rich and don't mind spending money on every little thing, save yourself the heartache.

Completely useless if your employer…

Completely useless if your employer uses them as an intermediary between the insurance and IVF clinic. Literally the only thing they do is approve your treatment. There is no benefit to you as a patient, no support, no counseling despite what is advertised on their website. They will approve your treatment if you have $1 left and you will get billed the entire amount as out of pocket. They don’t offer any type of assistance, bundling, advice, etc if you have any money left under your insurance plan.

WORST WORST WORST!!!!!!

Completely ridiculous!!!! I wonder the people who work there even have any idea about what IVF is. They are ridiculous!!! The only thing they care about is MONEY!!!! There is NO DISCOUNT program Actually. If you do the math right you'll see that they charge more than your doctor's office. The pharmacy option is also miserable!!!!! Their prices are even higher than a regular pharmacy. Because of their stupidity, I had to suffer a lot and postpone my treatment plan three times. I am sure people who are in the IVF journey knows that delaying three times means waiting for more than a year!!!!!!!!! In the end, I had close all kinds of dealings with them and just pay at my doctor's office. Customer service is extreme, extreme, extremely bad. Just total waste of time, money, and mental peace!!!!!! STAY AWAY!!!! I hope they and their family may suffer the same situation as they make their customer suffer.

Wonderful company!!! Thank you so much

I had a wonderful experience with this company! I was surprised to see the negative reviews. They patiently walked me through the whole process, answered all my questions, supported me strongly when I was trying to push for insurance exceptions, and supported me emotionally on the tougher days. I couldn’t be more thankful to have this company and support. What a great company, I wish more employers offered this support. Thank you so much!!

Horrible customer service

Horrible customer service. I’m on hold for ridiculously long periods of time when calling in, they do not return calls, rude customer service agents. I’m on hold right now as I write this review. It’s really disappointing and frustrating. I had one positive experience with a nurse initially when I had a set appointment.

Won’t call you back

I have called and messaged to get a nurse to call me to “enroll” they never call and claim “called 4 times no answer, couldn’t leave a message” sat next to my phone each “appointment” time never a call, missed or otherwise, and my voicemail is empty. Is been a month of this back and forth. I’m giving up based on the reviews, sounds like I’d end up more stressed out using this company.

Completely pointless company

Completely pointless company. When we did fertility treatments with our first child we had no problems. Now our insurance works with WINFertility and it’s been nothing but a huge joke and run around. It’s more expensive, and it just seems like an extra middle man to go between the fertility clinic and insurance company. We had to delay our IUI cycle an entire month because we were waiting for an instance verification from WIN. Same thing for pharmacy pickups. We’re getting zero benefits but we’re forced to use them. If anybody has a choice don’t use them!!!
